We were married during our stay in Kauai and stayed at this location during our visit. The home was spacious and met our needs for a private place to celebrate our union. If you’re looking for a super bougie place with nearby conveniences, this is not the spot for you. The layout was perfect for the two of us and having easy access to a semi-secluded beach was a huge plus. The bed was super comfortable. The water pressure and heat was great in the shower. My favorite surprise was sitting on the deck and stargazing on a clear night. I’ve never seen as many stars as I did during my stay here.

This cottage was absolutely perfect to celebrate our 25th anniversary!! The cottage was perfect and the beach was amazing. There are about 15 homes on this beach and so you pretty much have a fairly private beach. There are lots of trees so easy to sit in shade and enjoy a book. Our vacation was ama ing and loved this cottage.

We loved this small but very nice cottage just a few steps from a rare quiet beach on Kauai's beautiful North Shore. Never saw more than a couple of dozen people on the beach. The main bed is comfy and the extra Murphy bed, if needed, is decent enough. The house is airy if you open the windows and the AC is most welcome when it starts to get too stuffy. Management attended quickly to internet/TV problem. All in all we'd definitely go back next chance. Even reluctant to share our good impression!

Everything was great- very helpful staff and quick response- the AC quit working and they fixed it right away- good location halfway between Lihue and Hanalei- the bay was wonderful with calm water and almost no one there- felt like a private beach!

Wonderfully private home with what can only be described as a “private hawaii beach”. You will need a car to see the island and can always go looking for honky tonk yet come back to solitude for the rest of the day or night. Great rental...

I highly recommend this place. It's on a secluded beach, and it's great for swimming, snorkeling. The updated kitchen and loft made it easier to dig in for a couple days, too. I loved birding from the deck with a coffee in the morning, too.

The listing is accurate. Make sure you are clear which rental you are are getting. There is a guest cottage (which we had) and a main home (which we thought we were getting). The guest house was very comfortable. The ocean was in sight from the front windows and porch. Two flights of stairs take you to the lodging - a potential issue for some guests. Remax was entirely responsive. There was a bit of traffic - a lot of foot traffic passed by on the other side of the adjacent fence as people (locals I think) walked to the beach through the neighbor's back yard. There was some truck parking/idling activity too. While that wasn't a positive, it really wasn't alarming or annoying. Besides, you have to enter 3 different access codes to enter the house so security is pretty tight. The codes are just 4 digit numbers so they were easy to memorize/use. We plan to return, hopefully for a long stay.

This is a fabulous location by a the Moloa'a Beach, which is so uncrowded that occasionally you have the whole beach to yourself. The property borders the beach, and from the lanai you can both see and hear the ocean.

This place is absolutely wonderful! If you're looking for your own private paradise, look no further. The cottage is modern and well-maintained, the grounds are so lush and beautiful, and Moloa'a Bay is basically your own private beach for swimming and snorkeling. The tides are a little rough directly in front of the house, but walk 3 minutes to the right and you'll find protected, calm waters. The A/C worked well and was very nice to have. Overall we loved our stay and highly recommend for a more private "off the beaten path" experience.

Moloa Cottage was ideally located in a secluded cove. It's location was everything we expected and more. The home itself was modest and the bathroom was a little out dated, but we'll take location over luxury any day. The living space was perfect for 2, but any more would be tight unless they are small children. The washer and dryer came in handy. The extra amenities such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, BBQ, Beach Chairs, Boogie Boards & the well equipped kitchen made our stay very enjoyable! We'd definitely recommend it to friends/family and can picture ourselves coming again.

We had a fantastic time in the Moloa'a Bay Cottage - amazing location right on the water, within 25 minutes both ways of great restaurants and all that. Plenty of space, great equipped kitchen (we cooked a good amount, lots of other rentals won't have enough cooking tools - not this place!), ACs that work super quickly, making it no problem to turn them off when you're out of the house.

A beautiful, clean, comfortable, light filled, cozy cottage with great views just steps to a Robinson Caruso style beach, what more could we ask for? Off the beaten track, yet fairly easily accessible to the north and east shores. There is, however, new construction next door and no covered outdoor deck area/furniture which may bother some, but not us. This cottage met all of our more important needs, and we had that wonderful beach to escape to. Loved it!

This property is well kept and in a beautiful rural beach location. The house was clean and comfortable, except for the problem of not having hot water!. We stayed for 6 nights, and despite calling the managers almost daily about the water, they had trouble getting a plumber who could fix the problem. We managed OK since the weather was warm and we took cool showers to wash. We also found that the house could have been a bit better equipped. For instance, the kitchen lacked a dish drainer and we needed to buy more toilet paper. But, overall, we enjoyed our stay very much.

This is our second stay at the bay cottage. We obviously return because we like it. As far as the other numerous houses are rented in Hawaii and Maui this one has the least amount of extras for guests. Obviously guests leave behind snorkels, masks, games, reefs shoes etc. and they can at least be left for guests to use. The biggest change you can make to the house is just to add some decoration. Any type of decoration would be an improvement. I mean come on not even one cheap print mounted on the wall?

We have always stayed on the south shore of Kauai, but wanted a new experience. Originally, we were to stay in Hanalei, but the flooding caused us to scramble. We are very glad we did. The Moloa'a Bay Cottage is located twenty minutes from Kapaa and twenty minutes from Hanalei. The cottage is quiet and close to the beach so we could hear the ocean day and night. It is a guest cottage to a larger home and we look forward to staying in both with family sometime.

Secluded little spot on beautiful grounds. Cottage was perfect for two and had all amenities needed. Peaceful with no sounds of traffic or people only sounds of birds and daily morning rooster wake up calls. Large spiders outside of bedroom windows were a bit worrisome but the realized they kept bugs down and didn’t move the entire time. We will definitely return and bring the family for a stay at the entire property. Mahalo.

Moloaa Bay is one of the nicest beaches on Kauai and barely accessible unless you stay there. Our cottage was clean, well appointed, and close enough to the beach that we went to sleep each night to the sound of waves. A peaceful week.

This place is a true gem. Located in a beautiful jungle vibe with a big gorgeous lawn and incredible access to possibly our favorite beach on the island. We paddled with dolphins in the bay and enjoyed sleeping to the sounds of the waves crashing. If you intend to use the loft for sleeping I would recommend requesting extra bedding. Also if you have expectations of supplies provided you would be glad you confirmed with the hosts. All in all we are So grateful for our time spent here and would definitely return.

We had the best time staying at this sweet house. The beach was literally a walk through the yard and you had a whole lovely beach to yourself. There were guests for half our trip in the main house (this is the guest house) but we never saw them, so the house felt very private. The beds were comfortable and the house was clean and had everything we needed. The upstairs loft was perfect for our teen boys although the futon needs to be replaced. It is not a viable sleeping option and is not comfortable to sit on either. We made a bed on the floor for them and that worked great. The location was remote enough that you felt alone in paradise but close enough to attractions and stores that we did not spend a lot of time in the car. The outdoor shower was fantastic and it was so easy to come straight from the beach and shower off before going into the house which kept the house free of sand (quite a feat with multiple people in and out). The first couple of days we drove to different beaches for snorkeling/swimming and then realized our beach at the house was better than any we had driven to (not really for swimming as it is dangerous in the winter months) but the alcove to one side had a rock barrier that was sheltered and I felt good floating and swimming in that area, plus there were lots of fish to snorkel and watch. The water was so perfectly clear and our weather was perfect for a November sunny vacation. We are already planning our trip back for next year!

The cottage on Moloa'a Bay is a wonderful property. Every time we come to Kauai we visit this beach. Staying footsteps away was truly magical. The cottage was also very clean and well equipped. To top it off the grounds are very beautiful and well kept. We will definitely be back.

Can’t say enough about this hidden gem. This was our first visit to Hawaii and we were looking for a secluded spot on the water. This vacation rental in Moloaa bay met all our expectations and thensome. Steps from your own private beach, option to stay in guest house or main house, host very responsive to our questions, grounds very clean, and driving distance to Hanalei bay and Kappa!! Beautiful sounds of waves crashing morning thru night. The guest house was the perfect size for the two of us and very clean with all your basic essentials in kitchen and linens!! We are definitely looking forward to coming back!!
