But it isn't. I wish it were. Many things were just right, but the unit was simply way too hot. Too hot to stay inside. I'm a long-time Poipu visitor, and I've never stayed anywhere near this hot. Outside was much cooler than inside. There were four brand-new ceiling fans and an interior AC unit the size of a large suitcase, so clearly the owners are aware of the problem, but it just didn't work. Nights were fine for sleeping, and early mornings were fine, but by 10am it was stifling. We worked out, over our first week how to set the umbrella to shade the glass doors, pull the curtains, and adjust the fans and AC for the best air flow, but it simply wasn't enough. We spent far too much of our Hawaii holiday sitting in a ridiculously hot, dark room. Now if you go out all day adventuring, this place is ideal. But if you, like us, are seniors with only enough energy for one activity a day, this is not the place for you. We spent lots of time playing Scrabble out at the pool where it was cool and breezy. The location is great for beaches, shopping, and sights. But inside the house was really not acceptable during the day. Beds were great. Linens were top grade. Showers and washer/dryer were just fine. There was plenty of beach equipment and a wagon to haul it in. But the kitchen was really too hot for cooking - although we did. It had no ventilation and the smoke detector had been clearly moved from the kitchen to the back hall. I regret this rating very much.

We had a great time at Kahala Poipu Kai. A very short walk to Poipu Beach which is perfect for families with children. A quiet area, about 30 minutes from the airport. Place was very clean and accommodating for our family of three. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly visit again!

My grandson and I brought my his mother's my daughter's ashes to spred with our family who live on Kauai. It was beautiful and we had a good family visit. We had some closure and he enjoyed going to places that he and his Mon had visited. I would rent the condo again. My only suggestion would be to place some grab bars in the bathroom, since the tubs are slippery. Overall a beautiful place.

We stayed here for five nights in August. The place was clean and stocked with the essentials. The patio was our favorite part. It led to an open field that made it easy for the kids to go outside and run around. The beach is just a five minute walk down the path. There is one portable AC unit that didn’t really help cool the entire place. There needs to be another unit near the bedrooms to really make a difference. Our friends were staying in a similar unit near us and they had two AC units in their place. There were no linens for the pull out couch. Access to the Poipu Athletic Club was really nice and a great perk. That was a fun place that both the kids and adults liked going to.

We really enjoyed our stay at this condo. The location was perfect, a short walk to Poipu beach. Gorgeous sunsets, turtles on the beach every day and occasional seals too. The condo itself was laid out well. We appreciated the portable air conditioner in the living area and fans for the bedrooms. It could be a little better stocked in the kitchen but there was plenty of beach stuff including beach towels, boogie boards, beach chairs, coolers and a wagon. Overall it was a great stay at a great location and we would stay here again. Management was very good to work with as well. Mahalo!

This condo is great for families! Close walk to Poipu beach to see the turtles, the beach club had a great pool for kids and poolside servers for snacks and drinks, close to puka dog, keokis paradise, Koloa pizza, and friendly waves burgers (only listing the yummy places we ate at). Lots of beach supplies and toys, comfortable beds, plenty of towels and linens, and the full size fridge has an ice maker! Would definitely stay here again!

The condo was as it appeared in the listing. It had all the kitchen appliances, utensils and dishes we needed. Also, there was soap and paper towels. Because it is an end unit, it's very private yet close to parking. I love the lanai! It's so relaxing having breakfast at the table with the green lawn and ocean view. Very short walk to Poipu beach and restaurants. The pool and hot tub are right around the corner. Thank you! We had a great time. :)

We had a hard time, finding the property initially, as the written directions stop short at the last, but most crucial part of getting there. And we could not get in touch with the office quickly, in order to ask for directions. Because as overseas visitors, we only had a travel SIM card for data, and could not reach standard phone lines. So we had to stop at a resort hotel, in order to ask them for further information. They did not know the exact location either. We drove around in our hire car for two hours, before finally getting lucky.
The next day, I set out to find their office in Koloa myself, so I could talk to them in person. Finding it was yet another ordeal, as it is well hidden in a back alleyway and not at the address given; it took half an hour of walking around and asking various shop assistants, if they knew the Poipu 365 office location.
However, once I found them, Cher and her colleague were really helpful and accommodating. They took my suggestions on board, and have since established a WhatsApp channel for visitors without a local SIM card and thus without local phone line access.
The accommodation is very old, but everything worked as intended. A blocked drain was fixed swiftly and without fuss. The beach was easily accessible on foot, just a couple of minutes away. The carpark was just outside the unit. The whole stay was a real treat.

The check in instructions were clear and easy. The unit is small but enough room for 4 maximum to stay. The unit could use some TLC and updating but the location more than makes up. It would be nice if the cost of the Poipu Athletic Club was optional since we couldn’t imagine leaving the fabulous beach at our doorstep. This is our second stay in the Kahala condos and love the area so we will return again.

Property was close to Poipu beach and had everything we needed for our stay. Condo could use some TLC. Both bathrooms had unrepaired holes in wall (not covered/painted), sliding door lock broken(pipe put behind it) umbrella broken as well as fan tower in LR. Twin beds are very uncomfortable for adult but may be fine for a child. Some areas of housekeeping could be improved as well. Overall it would be a perfect place with better mattresses, extra cleaning and some minor repairs.

Nice unit with view and Poipu location. Beautiful grounds, convenient path to beach across street. Clean and well appointed with portable air conditioner. Be aware that cost almost doubles when final fees calculated. Sliding door lock was not working, but husband temporarily able to fix during stay. Dryer not turning, reported to rental agent, was hopefully fixed after we left. Slip guard in small tub wearing off, I slipped after getting into tub and fell. Luckily only bruises and sore muscles. Would recommend if items fixed.

Clean, comfortable, and has all the amenities you could want in a vacation spot. The beach is a small walk away, the location is within easy driving distance of anything else you might need, and the building itself is excellent. Two bedrooms, enough beds to sleep six (two on a pull-out), and a full kitchen makes for a pleasant home base. Highly recommended.

This property is a ground level unit which had great access to and from the beach, pool and BBQ. Parking is in front of the unit . The unit is great size for a small family of 3 or 4. Toys, chairs, coolers, boogie Boards and some water accessories were all in the unit. Pots and pans for cooking some meals were great. We had a mid stay clean that the property manager handled for us and they did a great job. Nice to come back to a clean unit all over again. 2 close restaurants are a 3 to 5 min walk. The large open lawn at night is spectacular! Lounging in in the evening watching the stars and reflection from the moon off the waves was incredible. Do your self a favor and book this before its not available! thank you for sharing your hale, much mahalo.

This was the perfect rental for our family. I loved that the house was stocked with everything we needed for the beach. Great location- close to the pool and a short walk to the beach. Having a washer/dryer was definitely a bonus too. The kids enjoyed the young cat that greeted them at the back door each morning. It really felt like our home away from home!

The property was a fantastic location, easy process, and so nice to have a lockbox and key code so you don’t have to worry about keys. The AC was fabulous to have in the living room and the fans in each bedroom were perfect. Loved the beach closet eith toys, chairs, umbrellas etc. Easy walk to Brennecke’s and Poipu beach and the playground fir kiddos. Couldn’t have asked for more. Vicki was so responsive and answered all our questions and even was a doll with my grouchy mom. I wouldn’t hesitate to come back and stay again!

We couldn’t have asked for a better vacation experience from booking to check-out. The location of the condo with the beautiful green belt and ocean view, short walk to Poipu Beach called by the Travel Channel “the best beach in America,” and close vicinity to shopping and restaurants while still being away from crowds and congestion made it ideal. The condo owners thought of everything one might need for the beach: beach chairs, umbrella, coolers, snorkeling equipment, abundant beach towels, sunscreen, shampoo, conditioner - even peroxide in case of a scrape or cut. The kitchen and bathrooms were equally well-equipped. Having a washer and dryer in the unit was a special bonus. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you for making our vacation one to remember!

2nd bedroom blind was missing. We had our 2 daughters and families staying nearby so the grandkids could nap at our unit. Room was too bright, so that didn’t work as planned. 😕
Bathrooms need an update - both tub/showers have very slick bottoms and no grab bars. Had to wear shower shoes to avoid slipping.

This condo was a disappointment. Sure, they had the beach toys, but the place is run down, filthy pots and pans that cannot be used and NO AC. Towels are scratche and beds were uncomfortable. I'll make sure to not overlook the AC detail the next time I visit Hawaii. If I had to do it over, I would stay at the the poipu villas . They are on the same property, but interiors look like a Tommy Bahama store and beautiful pool and hot tub. My advice: get together with a another family and stay there.

Photos and descriptions were accurate. Kitchen and beach gear amenities are excellent and plentiful. The only possible improvement might be A/C but the ceiling fans worked well for us and many guests will be just fine with the natural trade winds.

We booked only four nights during the kids' winter break, but could have stayed much longer. Loved the boogie boards - and short walk to use them. The condition of this rental was mediocre. The bathrooms, floors, furniture, and major appliances could use some updating, but the location cannot be beat. We had a fantastic time on kauai, and the condo was perfectly situated for our family. We had a beautiful partial view of the ocean, and the kids were able to effortlessly step out and play on the lawn where they were easily visible from the main room. We would definitely return to this unit, despite its current condition.

Great experience. Super location, close to the beach with the pario opening onto lovely green space. It's a really beautiful complex. Restaurants and shopping are within walking distance. The house had everything we needed. Laundry machines were really nice to have and we really appreciated all the beach gear and water "toys". That was a great bonus. The only thing that would make it even better would be a wagon to haul all that fun stuff to and from the beach. I would rent here again for sure. We loved it.

Super convenient location with well stocked kitchen and comfortable beds! We loved this property. We are foodies who love to cook and really enjoyed the fact that the condo had the comforts of home (great knives, access to webber gas grill, so much Tupperware in all sizes that was perfect for marinating and storing food!) these are things you don't think about, but they make for such a great experience! There was also a blender we used for fresh breakfast pineapple smoothies and evening cocktails. Great access to Poipu Beach! We loved it!

Kahala Poipu Kai 312 was the perfect spot for our family vacation. The condo is very comfortable, relaxing and clean - and you can't beat the location. It was not well situated for the trade winds and thus, the apartment was often too hot. The kitchen had nice appliances and a marble counter, but the kitchen itself was small and extremely hot. No good ventilation in entire apartment. The bathrooms had a mildew/mold odor in them. The Lanai was very pleasant

This is a true beach house - nothing fancy but very clean with everything you need in the kitchen and for the beach. You can't beat the location. We enjoyed breakfast every morning on the lanai looking over the immaculately groomed grounds to the ocean. Will definitely be back.

This was my third stay at Kahala 312 so it does feel like we are returning home. The location, the view, the amenities....all contribute to a wonderful experience. I would recommend bringing binoculars to enhance the whale watching from the lanai...one of the highlights. The pool is perfect....getting sun all day. The beach is a three minute walk away. This unit comes with a paddle board and surf board if one is so inclined. We have stayed at other places in Poipu where these items were not provided. We plan to continue our yearly winter break from Montana in lovely Poipu in this unit....out Kauai "home".

The condo is ideally situated for exploring Poipu and that part of the island. We enjoyed the condo. The kitchen is "tight" to work in, but completely usable. The beds were comfortable, but not amazing. We would stay there again

Aloha! We are annual returning visitors to Kahala 312 and we have rented for years from Poipu365. Poipu365 is an excellent property manager; they very quickly respond to and attend to requests immediately. The condo is in an excellent location, has access to 2 pools, is just a 2 minute walk to Brennecke's or Poipu Beaches, its on an excellent walking path that takes you to Shipwreck Beach/Grand Hyatt and the Maha'ulepu Heritage Trail, Brennecke's restaurant and just a short drive to shopping and other restaurants. The condo has everything you need for a stay including beach chairs, boogie boards, umbrella, cooler, a well appointed kitchen and comfortable beds. One minor thing I would say is that the hair dryer is attached to the wall (like some hotel hair dryers) with only 1600W and if you dislike those , you might want to bring your own (I forgot my hair dryer this trip). It will be a long 334 days until our return...

My family (wife and two teen sons) found this location to be perfect for our stay in Kauai. The location is ideal. It's steps to the beach and pool, and walking distance to shops and restaurants. The unit was spotless with lots of amenities and essentials that we could use during our stay. The owners/managers left a booklet with helpful info and with contact details, but we never needed to call them. We loved having our morning coffee on the patio and seeing the ocean in the distance. We would definitely recommend this location to others and would stay there again in the future.

The two bedroom condo was perfect. Well stocked for cooking in. Close to the beach and pool. The central location made travel to other ends of the island easy. We had a few ants - what else is new in Hawaii. We found that the Management Company is not really available 24/7. We called and they would call back when we were out enjoying the island (where there might not be cell reception). But I would definitely recommend this unit.

We had booked a different property and was not notified we were moved. This was not at what we were planning. Room was not clean and was very hot. They did however bring us extra fans.

Location couldn’t be better! Had a fantastic stay with our family of four. Easy walk to 3 of Poipu’s beaches all boasting 3 different purposes. So nice to have a calm inlet for littles, consistent waves for boogie boarding, snorkeling and surf waves all right there at your fingertips. Oh and don’t forget the turtles!! Ground floor unit was perfect for kids to go in and out. Close to pool and tennis courts. Absolutely loved sitting out on the patio in the mornings with a view of the waves in the distance. Close to everything yet seemed very private at the same time being an end unit.
House was well supplied with cooking amenities as well as beach equipment: wagon, umbrella, beach chairs, mats, towels, cooler, and boogie boards. We also left behind an additional boogie board, beach ball, portable box fans and dominos game. It was clear that guests have left things prior which gives the unit a community feel.
There were only a handful of things we wished would been different. The confirmation email about check in procedures did not come until the day of which meant between airplane mode and wifi availability, we arrived at the unit without directions on how to get in. Would be nice to have this communicated before hand so we knew to look for an email. Also, I asked over the phone about the pool key, and they said it was in the unit. We searched quite a while as it had been placed inside a drawer in the tv cabinet. One more note, we woke first morning to the kitchen and living space flooded because the sprinkler head outside the dining nook came in through the open louvers. Not complaints really, just trying to help out the next family!
We absolutely loved the unit and location! Would stay again in a heartbeat!

Despite not being right on the water, the wide expanse of lawn in front of the lanai is delightful. The Kahala complex has spacious, beautiful grounds. The condo itself has been kept up, and the kitchen especially is one of the nicest kitchens we've ever seen in a rental. The fridge is almost brand new and the pots and pans are in good shape. There is an air conditioner in the living room and it does a good job of cooling the south side of the unit in the late afternoon. Fans in the bedrooms create a pleasant sleeping environment. I am already thinking about renting this place again next year!

I did just review this on 365, but I'll repeat, we were delighted with this place. The Kahala complex is spacious and well landscaped. Kahala 312 had one of the nicest kitchens we've seen in a rental unit. The fridge is almost brand new, and the pots and pans were in excellent shape. The air conditioner in the living room cools that area down nicely. The fans in the bedrooms (on the north side of the condo) make for pleasant sleeping. The furniture and bedding were in good condition. We were amazed at how much beach stuff there was. We enjoyed the beach umbrella, the boogie boards, the beach mat, the 2 beach chairs, the red upright folding chairs, and the portable ice chests. There were also 2 paddle (surf?) boards. Mahalo nui loa for providing such a nice place to stay!

This unit was very nice and we loved our stay, but a more thorough cleaning should have been done before our arrival. There was dust on the window slats, dust bunnies under the bed, and food splatters on cupboard doors. The kitchen window screens were bent, so they were not an effective barrier to keep bugs out. That said, the bed was comfortable, the location beautiful and quiet, and this particular building is less than a 2 minute walk to the new hot tub and pool. Also, there is an abundance of beach chairs, boogie boards, beach umbrella and even 2 surfboards. We'd definitely rent this unit again.

We enjoyed our stay at Kahala 312. A great ground level unit with lawn and view to beach.
Place was nice and accomodated our group of 6 well.
Location is perfect for families, close to good beaches for all ages. Easy walking distance to
little store and restaurants. Short drive (5 min) to other shopping in Koloa.
Dryer in this unit takes about 4 hours to dry a load(very frustrating) the washing also takes a long time. Visited during the winter. Temp was ok, when fans and air conditioning unit was on. But if it was summer this place would get very hot despite the aircontioner and fans

This is a wonderful unit in an awesome location. The beach chairs and wagon and other amenities were wonderful to have. The ground level lanai is very peaceful. The only downside is the bedrooms, despite having multiple fans, can be very toasty at night. They could benefit from some more portable or in-window air conditioning units.
