We had 4 people staying in the condo for a week. The unit was clean and the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. We had a great time snorkeling and making good use of the hot tub. Lara was very helpful and responsive during our stay. A very nice property in a gorgeous location.The street noise is a bit loud if you are a light sleeper.

We had a relaxing stay at this beautiful condo. We appreciated the towels, beach wagon, chairs and umbrellas, cooler ice packs and so much more--especially since our luggage didn't arrive for a few days.
The proximity to the beach and pool was perfect. We enjoyed snorkelling, boogie boarding, and swimming from the beach. The sunsets were beautiful.
If there was one drawback, it was the proximity to the road, but we quickly got used to the noise from the road in the bedrooms and had a good sleep after the first night.

Our family of 4 was originally booked at a resort on the west side of the island for our 2nd consecutive (3rd total) trip to Maui. But due to the catastrophic Lahaina fire, our booking on the west side was cancelled. After much deliberation of whether we should cancel our trip altogether, we decided to still visit but find a place on the South side of the island. I'm so glad we found this condo. It is amazing and was perfect size for our family. Felt more like a luxury home than a condo. Every detail of this place - artwork, furniture, linens, appliances, electronics...very modern, upscale and high end. We felt so taken care of by the host - providing ALL the essentials to get us started and even sustain us throughout our stay. Those little details did not go unnoticed!! The Makena Surf property is very well maintained, lush and tropical. Felt very secluded, which we liked. The view from the lanai provided amazing sunsets every night. Just couldn't get enough of that view! Part of me didn't even want to post a review- just so I could keep this place a little secret! :-) But the secret is out! This place is amazing. It's by far my best and most favorite place from our 3 trips to Maui. I can't wait to stay here again.

Condo is spacious, clean and nicely decorated with all appliances and kitchenware needed. Easy communication with the owner. Short walk to nice beach with soft sand and not overcrowded. Only knock on the unit is it located right on a main road, so some road noise in the two bedrooms and lanai in the back. However, considering the road isn’t too busy, noise wasn’t an issue in the main living spaces, and the value vs pricing of nearby 5 star resorts, road noise wasn’t enough of a factor to ding the rating for us!

2 couples stayed. Lovely property. Nicely decorated, Clean, kitchen is well stocked. Comfortable beds, condo is exactly as shown in photos. The BEST location. Well maintained condos- one pool was under construction while we were there- but we found the 2nd one.
We only had a couple of things we would change if we could- didn’t affect our trip and we will likely come back to Makena Surf one day — but just for reference.
1) Trim bushes back around the back patio- no view of beach or ocean when sitting and enjoying back patio. Nice for privacy- but not for enjoying beach or water.
2) Provide more than one towel per person during the stay. I personally like to use a towel to wrap up in and one to put my hair up in :) we couldn’t find any extra towels.
3) TV is on ground level/inside bottom of a cabinet - we wanted to watch some football while we were there- but tv not in a place to be enjoyed by whole group.
Again- the unit is well maintained, updated, clean and lovely. We enjoyed our stay!!

Our stay could not have been more enjoyable! The condo was the perfect size for our family of 5. Little brother loved his special private area in the living room where the blinds come down for privacy. The condo was extremely clean and decorated very tastefully. Everything was labeled and easy to find. There were clear written instructions for all the high end electronics, blinds, etc. Unlike some VRBO’s this one was very well stocked with plenty of trash bags, dishwashing pods, laundry detergent, etc. We enjoyed watching the sunset from the spacious lanai every evening! Laura was very responsive with any questions we had even though she was on east coast time! The area of town is exactly what I was hoping for - walking distance to all the high end hotels, golf course, and high end shopping. We rented some boogie boards from Snorkel Bob’s right by the golf course. Several places to eat within a 5 minute drive. We would absolutely stay here again in a heartbeat.

Beautiful one story condo with ocean view, lush landscaping and well equipped and steps from the ocean to swim with the turtles on a semi private beach. With any property you can have an issue or two. That’s normal. But no one is better than Lara and owner Dennis in resolving any issue. Outstanding customer service and two people who truly cared our experience was nothing less than 5 stars. We would definitely return.

This home was stunning! The view was amazing. We saw whales every day as we relaxed on the lanai. The weather this year was not as nice as in the past but the home made up for that! This is a beautifully appointed unit with recent upgrades to the kitchen and bathrooms. There is a lot of outside living space with a wonderful ocean view. The landscaping at the resort is impeccable and this unit is close to the beach. There were only two of us, but this is a great space for families. Lara is very responsive and accommodating.

Our stay a Makena Surf C-107 was exactly how we had hoped it would be. There were six of us and we had just enough space for our week long stay. The condo had every amenity you could ever want or need. The automatic screens for the bonus room gave the foldout couch some privacy and turned it into an extra bedroom. The lanai with a hammock off the two bedrooms made for an additional place to be able to go to relax. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything needed to make any meals. Communication with Lara was always prompt and easy. We would definitely stay here again.

My husband and 2 boys along with my parents thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Makena Surf! The condo is beautifully decorated and was a nice size for 6 of us. The electric partitions that come down from the ceiling for privacy around the pullout couch was a really nice touch! We spent many evenings on the huge private lanai watching the incredible sunsets. The beach is just a few steps away where we played in the waves, relaxed and snorkeled. There were plenty of turtles and beautiful fish to keep us occupied with snorkeling! So fun. And all of the beach "things" we needed were there for us to use which was really nice. Can't wait to return and will definitely be staying here!

The condo it self is perfect, it has everything you will need and more.
I read about the street noise on other reviews but at night there’s no traffic
So it’s not a concern. The way the condo is situated in the complex it’s very private.
There was only two of us but the condo is so large it could accommodate five easily.
Your steps from beach and pool. There’s beach chairs and coolers for use.

This is one of the best condos we stayed is Maui. Location is perfect: very private, but only 5 minutes driving distance from Wailea. The condo itself is very clean, beautifully decorated, and everything that a family needs. It is a ground, corner unit, which means that you have a beautiful landscaped grassy area in front, something that most other units at Makena Surf lack. Communication with Lara was great, she always responded promptly to all my questions. We’re planning to come back to Maui next year, and this unit will be our first choice of lodging.

We traveled all the way from Switzerland to stay for 10 nights. Every year we are renting a condo on Maui and we therefore know what to expect. Compared to other condos we rented previously, C-107 was well equipped and clean. The furniture is of good quality and communication with the property manager/owner was flawless. We enjoyed our vacation very much and the condo was worth the long trip.

This was a very well maintained, spacious condo that was up to date. We loved sitting in the outdoor area enjoying the views. Bathrooms were updated, and our family of 5 was very comfortable (the private sofa-bed area was appreciated). The beach at Makena Surf was fantastic (we saw several turtles!) and the unit had everything we needed for a beach outing. saw several turtles. The pool was enjoyable (larger than we expected) and the location was convenient. The only downside is that the primary bedroom is very close to the road, so you do hear some traffic noise from that side of the unit (which is balanced by the sound of the ocean from the back of the unit)

We loved our stay at Lara's condo. Here is some info that you may find helpful. Lara is a very responsive and hospitable host. She got back to me very promptly both before and during the stay.
The condo is located in a beautifully landscaped, quiet and picturesque complex called Makena Surf. It's just south of all of the resorts in Wailea. There are 2 pools (with jacuzzis), two tennis courts, plenty of bbq grills and parking, and even an herb garden! It feels like an oasis, really. There is a beautiful beach right out front that has incredible snorkeling on calm mornings. We ended up going to this beach every day. All of the beach supplies (chairs, umbrella, wagon) are provided, and there are showers to rinse off.
The condo itself is recently remodeled and very tastefully decorated without being cluttered. There are very cool retractable blinds in the bedrooms and by the sleeper sofa. The condo is very private, thanks to the corner location and lush landscaping. However, some of the landscaping actually blocks the view of the ocean, so if unobstructed ocean view is a must for you, other condos in the complex may suit you better. Other buildings face out directly onto the water, whereas this one is tucked back a bit.
The bedrooms each have a king bed (one is 2 twins put together), attached bathroom, and accesses to a second patio. The bedrooms face out onto the road (with LOTS of landscaping and trees in between, so you don't see any cars). Although it's not a very busy road, the proximity may be an issue for light sleepers. In light of COVID, there are no kitchen condiments provided aside from salt and pepper and bathroom supplies (including towels) are a bit limited, so come prepared.
Overall, we had a fantastic stay in this condo and would absolutely come back.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful property on Maui. When we opened the door, it was excactly what we saw on VRBO. Amazing views and beautiful furnishings. Fully stocked with all of the basics one might need on vacation. All questions were immediately answered during our stay. Beautiful golf courses and beaches were located steps away from our front and back door. Highly recommend this beautiful home to all future guest visiting Maui, Hawaii.

This is an incredible property all around and the owner is a delight. The only issue we had was slight and it didn't pertain to all of us. As mentioned in previous reviews, there is a bit of road noise at the back, where the bedrooms and back veranda are located. The light sleepers in our family struggled a bit. Overall, we feel this is a special place. We loved the deep veranda and how the landscaping surrounding it enhanced the lovely ocean view. There is space to spread out but be together at the same time. Having nice beach chairs, beach towels, extra bath towels, a washer/dryer with laundry detergent made our stay more enjoyable.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Laura's property for a week and I wish we could have stayed forever. The ground floor condo was perfect for us - beautiful views, privacy, quiet plus a lovely interior. The kitchen has everything necessary for cooking in or BBQing so you can enjoy meals on the lanai. The bedrooms/bathrooms are comfortable, well airconditioned and stocked with sheets/towels etc. Plus, the storage closet has everything you need to go to the beach - including a wagon to haul gear. We will happily book another trip to stay at Makena Surf again. Maybe once the covid requirements loosen up a bit - so that you can get dinner reservations a little easier. We really enjoyed our stay. Makena surf is a fabulous property and this unit’s location is special. Ground floor corner unit tucked away with great privacy. You do, however, get the ground’s security guards walking across the porch every few hours which surprised us the first few times. The unit is well appointed and very clean. My only real criticism is the master bed. My husband and I found the mattress very uncomfortable as it has two body divots from where everybody sleeps.
