The staff is friendly and the grounds were so beautiful. They do such a great job of attending to all the ponds and landscaping. Just beautiful. We had a very relaxing stay and would highly recommend it.

Absolutely perfect week in Ka’anapali. The condo location is perfect to the beach, shops & restaurants, We had a rental car which we only used a few times as the location was perfect. We went shopping on our way in and grabbed breakfast foods and snacks then enjoyed dinner out. The condo is well equipped and the beach equipment was perfect! Definitely will book again!

The unit is as advertised in the pics and was very clean and well equipped. The view is prime and the unit is very nicely upgraded. Recommendations - add luggage stands to put luggage on, maybe a safe for valuables, and an ice chest in the storage area for day use. There was one shown in the photos but it wasn’t there when checked. We will definitely be back! Thanks Doug!

The best accommodations - condo was neat, clean and came with all of the necessities/supplies for a comfortable stay. The condo was spacious including a full kitchen and full size stacked W/D. Perfect view of Pool, Ocean, Black Rock and Molokai. We would definitely book this Condo again!

Having been to Maui several times we were reminded that this Whaler location was prime for proximity to the ocean, pool, restaurants and boardwalk. Morning coffees on the lanai with a beautiful view of Black rock as well as the gardens and koi ponds while listening to the waves were simply a piece of heaven. Doug’s place had everything we needed for our daily events and provided us with all the comforts. It was a very clean and tidy unit and a perfect home away from home.
The front desk staff was pleasant and friendly and we only wish we could have stayed longer. We will return … Mahalo

We come every year to Maui. We love the location here.
This unit was one of our fav’s at the Whaler. Stocked with everything you need and more. What a convenience to have the washer and dryer in the unit instead of having to walk down the hall to do it. Last year, someone took my favorite shorts : (
Bed was so comfortable as well.
We always stay in this tower, and we like this side better than the other. Much cooler to sit out on the lanai.

Wish we could stay here next time, but it’s all ready booked. We’ll be back the following year for sure!

This is our second time staying at the Whaler and we will be back! The amenities are fabulous, the view is incredible, and we really appreciate that there are so many good places to eat, drink and shop a short walk away! As far as the unit it was very clean, with updated furnishings and everything you need to make it feel like home! The owner provided a very helpful packet of information. He made us aware of contact information for any problems of which there were none! Mahalo!

The Whaler is a very good property in an excellent location with one of the best beaches right out your door and all manner of directly-accessible amenities and restaurants in Whaler's Village.
Doug's Unit in the Whaler is a very nice one, it has been recently renovated and I'd bet it's one of the nicest renovations in the whole building. The cleanliness was also excellent. The Unit came well-supplied, and the beach gear in the storage closet was much appreciated. The Unit location in the building is good, you just have to be aware that sometimes idiots drop glass bottles down the garbage chute early in the morning which might wake you up - didn't bother us as we're usually awake by 7 or so anyways. Our only real issue with the Unit was that the bed was too soft for us, we're just used to more support, but I realize these things are totally subjective.
Doug's guide for the Unit is very clear, everything you need to know is there, and all interactions with Doug were fine. The local agent was unresponsive the one time we reached out to him.
On the whole we were very happy with the Unit and our stay, and I'll bet you will be too.

We had an amazing stay at the Maui condo. Right next door to Whaler’s Village, we had all the ease and convenience right at our fingertips. The owner’s locker had any beach entertainment equipment you could ask for. If you are hesitant to book at this location don’t be. Best decision ever!

We loved our stay at this Whaler condo. It was absolutely perfect! We had such a fantastic view and loved drinking our coffee/eating breakfast on the balcony each morning. Had everything we needed. Easy to get in/out and nice and close to shops & restaurants. We will absolutely try and stay here again. The sunsets were so beautiful. I miss it already! I have to watch the Maui Live Cam just to get my fill (it pretty much is the same view!) I only wish it had 2 available beach chairs to borrow, but you could rent them, so not that big of deal.

This was a great place to stay! The kitchen was stocked with many helpful items, the location was perfect, the locker was supplied with everything you need for a great beach day. The Whaler resort had beach towels for you everyday as well. There was a nice parking garage and an overflow lot not far away either. This place was everything we had hoped it would be.

The Whaler condo unit #564 was amazing! This was my first experience with VRBO and it was great! The condo was stocked with every amenity needed to make your stay perfect. We loved the location next to the black rock. We snorkeled everyday. We are beach people so the access to the owners locker room for beach chairs and unbrellas was great. The Whalers Village next door has several restaurants. We ate at Leilani's on the beach, Hula Grill and Monkeypod. All were delicious and highly recommended. We also ate at Duke's, Kimo's , and The Gazebo for breakfast. We also went on the Trilogy to the Molokini for snorkeling and saw the Old Lahaina Luau. Our Maui vacation was perfect! I would definitely be returning to this condo again ...hopefully very soon! Excellent choice!

We really enjoyed using this apartment as the home base for our Maui adventures. The interior was clean and quiet, with all the amenities. The view from the balcony is fantastic and we had several take-out meals there, overlooking the water. The location of the Whaler is ideal for beach activities in Lahaina while also being close to shops and restaurants. Parking was easy, and we also enjoyed using the gym.

We can’t say enough about this condo! The views of the ocean, sunsets and Black Rock were incredible, and could be seen even from the bathroom due to the mirrored wall. The entire condo was very clean (something we inspected right away, since that’s very important to us). The kitchen and bathroom were extremely well appointed. There wasn’t anything we needed that wasn’t provided (including ziplock bags and food storage containers). We loved the fact that there is an in-unit washer/dryer. We also really enjoyed all of the local artwork they had throughout the condo, aa well as the Polynesian decor. The owner’s locker was full of everything you could need for a day at the beach or a picnic. The condo owner even provided large beach towels and after sun aloe gel! I would also like to add that he was very good about responding to all of our pre-travel questions right away, which we appreciated. We would definitely stay in condo 564 again! It was such a great location and experience!

This was our third time in Maui and we always stay in this area. The location could not be any better. While this was our first time in a studio, it exceeded our expectations with the cleanliness and quality of stay. Doug was excellent in communicating prior to arrival and fortunately we didn’t need to contact him during our entire six day stay.
You are walking distance to tons of restaurants, luaus, and shopping. You barely need a rental car as most activities are right outside your door. The view of the ocean from the balcony was excellent to wake up to in morning and evening. The concierge at the front desk booked us different activities that seemed to be completely full.
You will absolutely not regret staying here. I highly recommend this property. Thank you to Doug and the entire staff at The Whaler for providing yet another amazing Maui experience.

This studio unit was absolutely beautiful. Furnishings we're lovely & comfortable. Having an uncomfortable bed for a long stay is always a concern. The king size bed in this unit was more comfy than our bed at home! The kitchen is very large, updated & laid out so well. So much storage space which is great for long term stays. The kitchen was so well stocked with with kitchen appliances , food storage containers & cleaning supplies. The bathroom was newly redone & modern. Many beach "toys" provided. The owner was great to work with & quick to respond to questions. The best studio condo we've ever stayed in!!!!

Aloha. We have stayed at the Whaler many times. It is an ideal location right on beautiful Kaanapali Beach. You are close to restaurants, shopping, golf, and right on the over one mile pedestrian walkway along the beach. Doug Erickson's unit 564 is the best unit we have ever rented at the Whaler. We stayed in the unit for 25 nights this trip. The unit is exactly as pictured and very clean. The kitchen is attractive and very well equipped with everything you could want. The bathroom is modern with a walk in shower. We really enjoyed the convenience of the in unit washer/dryer given the length of our stay. Doug even supplies the laundry detergent and fabric softener. He also supplies dishwasher soap and other cleaning supplies you might need as well as a vacuum cleaner. There is ample storage space for your clothing and plenty of hangers in the closet. The king size bed is comfortable. The TV is very nice and includes the option for you to record programs for later viewing. The view from the lanai is spectacular. We ate breakfast there each morning and enjoyed watching the magnificent whales who visit Maui each winter. Doug also provides you access to the owners storage closet in the basement. It contains snorkeling equipment, beach toys, boogie boards, beach chairs, beach umbrellas and a cooler that came in handy. Doug is very responsive to questions and concerns and really wants you to enjoy your time in Maui. The Whaler also supplies beach chairs for use on its beach as well as beach towels which can be refreshed daily. The Whaler concierge, Cheri, is extremely knowledgeable about all things Maui and was very helpful with arranging dinner reservations long before we arrived. I would encourage you to make your dinner reservations well in advance in order to insure that you can dine at the place/date/time you want. This is a great place to stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be returning to this unit next year.

My husband and I had to rebook our honeymoon for this year, and were incredibly happy with our stay! Not only is The Whaler in a very convenient location, but the property is also beautiful, clean, and quiet. Unit 564 was a perfect studio with an unbeatable view. When we arrived we couldn’t help but appreciate the up to date style, cleanliness, and comfort of the studio. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, dishes, etc. that you would need if you are looking to have some meals in—and to top it off being able to use the provided beach chairs, umbrella, snorkeling gear etc. was awesome. Doug was a very responsive and gracious host; we wouldn’t hesitate to book again on our next trip!

Super quick walk to Whaler’s Village and just minutes in the car to Lahaina and Front St made it so easy to get around. This property is absolutely outstanding! My family of four was very comfortable in it; there was ample space for two adults and two teenage boys. And the view just cannot be beat. Also, the owner’s closet in the basement is well-stocked with everything needed for the beach (chairs, boogie boards).

It was hard for me to wait until the last day to write a review. From the moment we opened the door, it felt like home. (and that was just the front door, wait until you open the “back door”!) Absolutely stunning views of kannapoli beach, Moloka’i island and the black rock cliff. I couldn’t have asked for a better location. There are so many amazing restaurants, shops and activities all within a half mile walking distance from the room. We were thankful to have towels, beach chairs, umbrellas and snorkel gear available to us for free which was very easily accessible. The on site gym was not your typical pantry sized hotel option either - they had tons of equipment and weight selection to choose from. I could probably keep going on forever but I’ll leave you with this - THE most comfortable bed/pillows you will ever rest your sweet little vacationing tush on. Thank you so much Doug and Cynthia for providing us an amazing place within this little slice of heaven! I’m already planning my return.
Just recommendations in the area: island vintage coffee (best coffee and açaí bowls), Leilanis beachside grill (absolute best poke bowls and fish tacos), Pacific Whale Foundation for daily excursions (they are a non profit organization with very well organized activities. plus all proceeds go back into researching our coral reef and ocean friends!), Sheraton inn hotel for a luau (the host was amazing), Iao Valley State park (cool local spot with awesome views, $5 admission per car).

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Whalers #564. The condominium was so clean and fully equipped! Close to shopping, great beaches and restaurants. Great view. The property owner was very helpful. The only problem was the pool was closed for repairs to the tile. We used the pool at Ka’anapali beach hotel next door, which was very nice. We will definitely stay here again. Washer/ dryer in the condo was an added bonus! If you like great sailing and beach walks, this is the place for you!
