The Whaler in general is gorgeous. Ground pristine, fantastic water features, gym, sauna and very friendly staff. Room 764 is the cherry on top! Comfortable, clean, views for miles, lots of extras for the beach and very friendly owners.

This is a great unit at the Whaler. Very clean, updated, and well provisioned (beach gear, comfortable bedding, towels, etc). The communication from the owners is fantastic, easy to get a hold of and very helpful. The location of the whaler within Kaanapali is amazing with shops and restaurants next store and immediate access to the best part of beach (black rock). Would definitely rebook this unit.

We had a great time at the Aston at the Whaler celebrating our 5 year wedding anniversary. I definitely recommend this property for your future Maui getaway. The staff is friendly, the property is clean, and is in walking distance to Whalers Village.

We loved being near the ocean and with a Mountain View! Parking was easy as well! Having chairs and an umbrella for the beach really saved us money- the rentals from the resort add up. We would stay here again 100% and recommend it to anyone!

We’ve stayed at the whaler probably 10 times and always in a studio. 764 was the best for sure! The kitchen, bed, decor, WiFi, and amenities were just top tier. It was a wonderful stay!

Property is close to shops and restaurants. It is very easy to walk to the beach, pool, and restaurants. The condo unit was very clean and stocked with kitchen appliances and tools. The underground parking is great with easy access by the elevator. The sunset views from the unit are amazing. We will stay here again.

We had a wonderful time staying at the Whaler. The proximity to restaurants and the Whaler Village was very convenient. Beautiful views of the ocean and the mountains from our Condo. The Condo was well supplied with beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers, boogie boards and snorkeling gear. It was very convenient having all this equipment located in the closet of the unit. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies and appliances. The Condo was nicely updated and very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

We always enjoy staying at The Whaler. Our room had some extras that we weren’t counting on but we were happy to have. Nice coolers, boogey boards, snorkeling gear. Kitchen was perfect for my husband and I; never really felt like I didn’t have what we needed. We will be requesting our room in the future. Mahalo

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Location can’t be beat and appreciated the owners included beach gear, unlike many of the other units. Only thing is I wish it was more clear we didn’t have a washer/dryer in the unit (easy to access, but would have packed a bit different). All in all absolutely would stay again. Thanks for making your condo so beautiful for guests to enjoy and be comfortable!

Lovely condo with all the comforts of home. We were able to do some whale watching from the balcony. Beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean! We stayed in Ian and Sue’s condo for our vacation in October. Everything we needed was provided and we particularly appreciated the high top table on the lanai, beach chairs and umbrellas. We enjoyed the gorgeous views every morning while having our coffee. The communication from Ian and the property managers were great. We definitely will be back and look forward to staying in this condo again.

My husband and I loved our 5 year wedding anniversary stay at this property at the Whaler. Gorgeous views, steps from the beach and everything we needed was in walking distance. Loved having towels available everyday, beach chairs, umbrellas, cooler and boogie board available for every day at the beach. It was truly a wonderful week stay. We spent every sunrise on the balcony drinking our coffee.

Everything about this property exceeded our expectations. The room was clean, bed was comfy, view was great, and was able to enjoy the lanai without the sun shining directly on us. The room had everything we needed plus a few things that we weren't expecting like beach chairs, umbrella, cooler, sunblock, and even aloe for when we accidentally stayed out in the sun for too long. The location was exactly what we wanted, the beach was right there, easy walk to shops, restaurants, and abc store. It was also easy get in and out of the property with the car also to make the short drive to Lahaina. Communication with the property owners was great also. Will definitely stay here again!!

We loved the views from this property from the ocean and Moloka'i on one side to the mountains and golf courses behind you, there were so many great views. The location was perfect we walked to the surrounding restaurants most nights for dinner and had great meals. The accommodations were comfortable with lots of extras including beach supplies which was super helpful. Being steps from the beach was a great plus as well we spent a few day soaking up the salt and sun. We would definitely recommend this condo and stay there again.

The whaler is beautiful! Right on the beach with pool & hottub on site. Easy walk to many bars and restaurants. Check in process was very easy and we had no problems during our stay. Our hosts provided us with Hawaiian chocolates and coffee as our welcome gift- so sweet! We would love to stay again

We stayed 5 nights and absolutely loved this condo. The location is ideal, and super convenient for beach access, dining, and shopping. The extra amenities such as beach chairs, umbrellas, and cooler were super handy to have available. Communication was amazing, with regular check ins from the host to ensure everything went smoothly. Would not hesitate to book this property again, and would highly recommend to family and friends.

Ian and Sue's place is amazing. The location is perfect and so convienient. The communication from Ian and Sue was amazing. Anything I needed they responded instantly to and even after the stay as I lost something there. The space in the studio is perfect. I had debated about renting a one bedroom but was gladn I stuck with their studio because it had plenty have space and was so comfortable. The view from the balcony was amazing. The location of the unit was great, close to the elevator and washer and dryer. The kitchen had absolutely everything you needed and more. The shower in the bathroom was so nice. I love the vanity was seperate so one person could shower while the other got ready. The bed and the sleeper sofa was super comfy. This will now be my go to spot when I return to Maui. Thank you Ian and Sue for providing such a great space.

Simply put, our stay in Whaler 764 was excellent. I mentioned location in the heading because this unit checked 3 main boxes for me and my wife. The Whaler complex is steps away from the sands of Kaanapali Beach and a very short stroll to the Whaler Village Shops. These 2 factors were important since we did not want to rent a car but still wanted to be in a convenient location near the beach , restaurants and shopping. Whaler 764 is ideally located for these activities. As a plus, the unit itself is located on the 7th floor with a terrific view of the pool area, the beach and the nightly incredible sunsets from the balcony. It is also next to the elevators (never heard any noise from them) and close to the laundry room. Ian and Sue have a beautiful condo which is tastefully decorated and has a well equipped kitchen.
Needless to say, we have found our Maui "home away from home" at Whaler 764. We are looking forward to booking another trip in the near future.

This beautiful apartment couldn't have been more perfect. The bed was sooo comfy, a major requirement for us. The lanai had a lounge chair for reading and napping while listening to the ocean waves, along with a table and chairs where we enjoyed our morning coffee and evening wine. The view was amazing and we loved our daily view of the beach and watching the sun set over the ocean. Would most definitely stay here again.

Loved the unit! Did not appreciate having to clean the room before we left! We’ve stayed in many hotels, resorts, cabins, other rentals, etc., and this is the first time we been asked to do these things. Also, we were called on day two by management indicating we were checking out the next day, which was wrong. Also, we were called several days later by management asking “who is this” and I gave my name. Next question was who is Ian Hudson and was he staying with us. I indicated he was the owner and the call ended.
All in all, management should reevaluate their processes and guest communications!

This is the best place we have ever stayed on Maui. The condo is gorgeous and The Whaler is fantastic. Love the views of both the Mountains and the Ocean, the BBQ areas and tables were perfect for watching the sunset. Nice pool and gardens. The unit itself is gorgeous and so comfortable. We loved the bed and bedding. So comfortable. Super plush towels that felt deluxe. This unit doesn't get the hot afternoon sun so it is perfect for relaxing after a fun beach day. One of the many great and unique features of this unit is that there is a tall table and chairs on the lanai which gives you a clear view rather than looking through the handrail. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you could possibly need. We cooked breakfast everyday and ate on the lanai. We were so pleased to find beach chairs, coolers as well as the usual iron, ironing board and hairdryer. If you need anything else, just pop next door to Whalers Village where we also rented eBikes for the day. That was a highlight for us. What a gorgeous ride. Top it off with whales EVERYWHERE. Whale watching from the lanai and whales so close to the beach that you felt like you could pet them. Book it. You won't be sorry!

From the new large sliding doors to the walk-in shower unit 764 is probably the best studio at the Whaler. Well appointed. No junk. Large premium king-size bed. Clean and neat. Brand new high stool wicker chairs and tables on the lanai. Can’t go wrong here. Oh…fabulous views for whale-watching and BlacK Rock.

This was my 7th visit to the Maui area, 6th stay at a Whaler property. I'd have to say this was the best condo I've stayed at so far. Clean, renovated, and extremely comfortable for my wife and I. We booked this room to attend our son's wedding which had been cancelled & reorganized for 2 years due to Covid. Ian & Sue were amazing owners right from the start with very quick communication and helped us navigate all things Covid in Hawaii. The room was outstanding - beautifully updated and equipped with everything needed along with a lovely 'welcome' basket. We especially appreciated the Keurig coffee pods for our first morning as we didn't know what type of coffee maker was in the suite. We also appreciated that prior guests had left a few cooking items in the cupboards (instead of housekeeping taking them) so we didn't need to buy some of the extras for cooking. There were also Tommy Bahama beach chairs & umbrellas, snorkels & flippers and pool noodles, and a huge cooler on wheels for the beach. I want to list all of this because Ian & Sue have thought of everything to make a vacation relaxing and enjoyable. Our son & daughter-in-law have been to Maui several times and counted 10 suites at The Whaler that they or family members have stayed in. They feel this is one of the best and will be staying here the next time the come.

Next door to shopping and restaurants but room and grounds are so peaceful you wouldn’t know you were next to Whalers Village. Whalers Village so nice, loved the restaurants. Everyone who works at the whaler is so accommodating. Grounds are beautiful. We’d definitely stay here again, and beach chairs were a plus!
