My family and I stayed here for a week and really enjoyed our stay. We had a couple of toddlers and 3 sets of adult couples in our group. We really enjoyed the location of the condo- not in the middle of town, but not too far from anything. The ocean view and sounds were great, especially since we could keep the doors open all the time. The condo was clean and somewhat updated; we felt like the pictures didn’t do it justice. The living space was larger than the pictures show and the high ceilings made it feel very open. We expected no A/C from the listing so that was no surprise, although it did get pretty warm inside most afternoons- definitely doable and not necessarily a negative, but just to be aware of. The kitchen was stocked with all the cooking essentials and the owner responded quickly when we didn’t have any dishwashing detergent after checking in. There were plenty of beach towels for our group and the beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, and misc snorkeling gear was awesome to have! Only wish we had some sand toys for our littles to play with, but we did leave a couple for future renters. The pool and tennis courts were just a short walk from the condo and very nice; only downside to the pool was that it didn’t open until 8am. (We had littles and a 4 hour time difference so they were ready to swim much earlier.) Overall we were very happy with this condo and would choose to stay here again if we return!

We stayed in this unit 6 years ago and were very impressed with the accommodations so when we returned to Kona this year we booked the same unit again. It could benefit from a little updating and a deep clean. On the plus side: This unit is spacious and has a beautiful ocean view. The kitchen has lots of dishes, pots and pans, and the cupboards were well stocked with spices, vinegar, oil, and an assortment of other items to help with meal preparation. Several beach chairs, beach umbrellas, and a variety of snorkel gear. Plenty of towels. The unit has no AC, so it can be a bit hot at times, but there are several floor and ceiling fans to help move the air if there is no outside breeze. Another thing to keep in mind is that this unit is on the 3rd floor and there are no elevators. We did not find this to be a problem, but it could be for some. The complex has several community BBQs under cover, nice pool and tennis courts, beautiful grounds, is conveniently located to shopping, and has beach access just north of the townhomes where you can sit under shade trees, and try snorkeling if the tide is right and the surf not too rough. The owner is responsive and helpful.

This is a very good mid-priced condo right on the ocean with beautiful sunset views. It was clean and located conveniently to anything you could need. It was also one of the better equipped condos we have rented. There is no air conditioning, so it can get slightly warm in the early afternoon, but the breeze on the lanai keeps it very comfortable. It cools off nicely after dark and is very comfy. We would definitely stay here again.

This was our first trip to Hawaii and we are already planning a trip back. The condo has a great location and great views. Once we got settled in and acclimated to no a/c we were really able to enjoy everything the big island has to offer. Sunrise and sunsets on the lanai after long days of exploring the island were fantastic. The condo provided us with everything we needed to be able to relax and enjoy our time. The condo is close to activities and restaurants such as Seaquest for night swimming with the manta rays, location pick up for Mauna Kea adventures, Magic Sands Beach and Sam Choys. The amenities of the grills, volleyball, pool and courts was great for our teenagers to use while be prepared food. We would definitely stay again.

Our group of six (3 adults & 3 teens) had a wonderful time staying here! Amazing location with an unbeatable view from the lanai. Kailua-Kona is only a 10-15 min drive north but there’s lots of stuff to do nearby, including a great beginner surf & snorkel beach park. The pool area at the complex was really nice & our kids loved having the option to swim ‘til 9pm. You can reserve a tennis court or use the community ping pong table. Behind the rental there's a volleyball court (over soft island grass) near the shared BBQ grills.
The Keauhou Shopping Center is really close by and has a lot to offer…grocery store, movie theater, drugstore, nice gift shops, a bookstore, several restaurants and a post office. Definitely recommend checking out their Saturday farmer’s market, having a drink at the taphouse, a plate lunch at L&L Hawai’ian BBQ and a treat from Da Shaved Ice Place 😊. The KTA supermarket there has a much bigger selection and better prices than the ABC Markets in Kona. Was really nice to have such great options when we stayed local.
Hanging on the lanai after exploring the island each day was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. We lucked out and got to see some whales breaching and also saw several groups of dolphins pass by.
Super appreciated that this condo is really well equipped. The kitchen has just about every type of appliance you need and is well stocked with pots/pans/dishware, large platters & bowls for bigger groups and even herbs/spices. The living/dining room area was much larger than it appears in the pictures and the big dining room table was a great space for playing cards/games at night. There are several closets filled with beach gear, towels and useful items for travelers with small kids.
The owners were wonderful to work with…there was a snafu when we checked in, but Witold & Darlene took care of it very quickly. A special shout-out to Olga for making our stay so comfortable! We hope to return someday and would love to stay here again!

Being right on the ocean provided a wonderful view. The raquet club condos are located close to alot of Kona activities. It seemed like no one had been there for awhile to check on the the overall maintenance of the condo and the things in it. Needs some overall maintenance and needs a deep cleaning. There are plumbing and electric issues.

I cannot tell you how much we loved staying at this location. It is only about a half a mile walk from downtown Kona and right on the ocean, the most amazing view and wave sound you can imagine. I spent almost every moment that we were at the condo lying on the chair on the lanai listening to the waves. Truly magical and the kitchen is more well-stocked than any place I’ve ever stayed. Even spices and condiments.. rice cooker, air fryer, blender and great assortment of pans. Thank you and we will be back here at least once a year. So beautiful. Mahalo!

You can see the ocean from the master bed and can hear the waves at night. Pool and tennis area are great and a short walk from condo. Only minor complaint is that the condo could use a deep clean.

We absolutely loved staying here! Other reviewers are correct, the pics don’t do it justice. There have been a few nice updates including the TV, although we never even turned it on. The view is incredible and I drifted off to the sounds of the ocean every night. You have a direct view of the sunset and, for us, the moon setting was just s as spectacular. The area feels very safe in this gated community and you are literally right next door to one of the best snorkel beaches on the island. The check in process was a breeze and it was nice and quiet while we were there. We hardly ever saw another person. We also appreciated the information booklet that provided a wealth of information. The unit is quite spacious as well. It has two closets stocked with beach supplies, one upstairs and one on the main level. The condo is also stocked with literally everything you could want. It made things so nice for us not to have to run to stores all the time. It does get pretty hot around midday, but I was pleasantly surprised at how just opening the sliders and turning on the plethora of fans cooled the place right down. The fan over the master bed was also very quiet so you could still hear the waves. We stayed 3 places on the big island and this was by far my favorite. I would definitely stay again. The only real complaint would be a bit of dustiness and the cleanliness of the couch. It was pretty stained and dirty and we were honestly a little uncomfortable to sit on it. It didn’t effect our stay though bc as I said we never desired to sit and watch TV. Besides that small detail, we had a wonderful time! Thank you for sharing your condo with us. Great location, plenty of parking for 2 cars, quiet, comfortable, spacious lanai, breathtaking sunset views, and plenty of space. Note that this is on the third floor with no a/c, so if steps or humidity is an issue, it may not work for you; however the master bath is accessible and there were tradewinds throughout the day and temps got cooler at night. I stayed with my family 3 weeks after knee surgery so was in a brace, and fortunately the stairs were good PT for my knee. Fully furnished and plenty of beach accessories to use. When some appliances were not working, Witold was prompt to respond and send the handyman to take care of us. I would recommend bug spray when you come as the island has many bugs trying to get inside regardless of the elevation. Would highly recommend.

I think we found a piece of paradise. The location and views are beyond amazing. The condo is well stocked with all you need to cook, relax and play. The owners were very responsive and while we never met our communications let me believe they are very friendly. My only negative is that the cleaning crew is not dong a very good job. It was in need of a really good cleaning. We were so busy that we were able to overlook some areas but this is such a beautiful place that it deserves a better crew. Our family had a wonderful time together and staying here was a huge part of that. Mahalo for sharing your home.

The positives:
- Location was outstanding! It's close to many things such as grocery stores, restaurants, and multiple beaches/activities.
- The Surf and Racquet club itself was great as well with access to the pool, barbecue, and tennis courts.
- Kitchen was well stocked with kitchenware, appliances, and other supplies (although it had some old/expired items. The apartment is also well stocked with beach equipment - chairs, umbrellas, noodles, etc.
Negatives
- Though the functional areas were generally clean, this place needs some detailed/deep cleaning in other areas- ie. mold in various areas, droppings (mice?) or like substance in several bedroom corners, dirty air filters, really dusty fans, and books/bookshelves...
- General maintenance needed for patio screen doors, and closet doors that were not working or broken.
In my opinion, the negatives, unfortunately, outweigh the positives for this property given the current condition. If more maintenance was done, this could easily be a 5* rating given the location itself... It really depends on what the renter prioritizes. If you're the type that isn't easily bothered by the items outlined above, this would be a great base to explore the Big Island.

My Girl Scout troop from Oregon finally got to go on their Hawaiian vacation after Covid delays. We had a fantastic time. Very responsive hosts, had trouble with WiFi and he helped get working. Beautiful view and great central location, loved having an assigned parking spot.. nice pool area to use when just want to unwind for a little bit. Black beach near by, hard to swim in but saw turtles swimming while taking a walk. Walk further down is a wonderful snorkeling spot but wear water shoes or socks very rocky. The condo has no air but we found putting sun shades down before we left for the day helpful and closing drapes in back bedroom helped. There are some fans but two were not working, a box fan and small table top fan, good use some new more powerful fans plus converting the light above the dinning table to a ceiling fan would help. There are ceiling fans in other locations which helps. Gave 4 stars for cleanliness because mold on drapes and shower and couch seemed like it could be updated. But I understand it’s Hawaii and that’s how it is. Plus they are in desperate need for new beach chairs but we did enjoy the boogie boards. Kitchen well stocked. Thanks for renting out your condo, the price was very affordable.

Constant sound of ocean was amazing. My only criticism is that the place has been well used and maintenance has not quite kept up: stains on carpet, sticking sliding doors, kitchen faucet coming lose, couch saggy.

My family had a wonderful experience. The location/view were unbeatable. At sunset, folks would gather below our veranda to get photos of the view we enjoyed daily. The complex is quiet and very well maintained.
The kitchen was reasonably equipped with basic cooking tools and the closets filled with umbrellas, floats and other toys for the beach.
The unit was spacious. While the age of the unit was apparent in some areas (notably the shower and vents in the main suite bathroom and the dishwasher) the maintenance was good and the cleanliness was fine. The only drawback to the layout was a lack of privacy. The main suite is separated from the rest of the unit by a sliding “rice paper” door and the loft is open to the area downstairs. Only one room allowed for quiet privacy with four walls and a door. This wasn’t a significant problem for my family of four, but I imagine if more folks wanted to share the space it might be an issue.
Overall, the place was 10/10. The minor drawbacks weren’t problematic enough to drop the rating in light of the value and the amazing location. It was an EXCELLENT place to stay.

We had a wonderful time on the Big Island. This condo is large, well-stocked, and beautifully situated. We played pickleball, utilized the pool, and appreciated the proximity to a grocery store, shave ice, and good food. Kona is just down the street--close but not too close-and the snorkel beach is easy to walk to. My teenagers surfed at the beach right down the street, every day! We will definitely return. We spent a week in the unit and had a wonderful time. The lanai is large and has the perfect view of the ocean. The Wi-Fi is strong and perfect for working remotely. The unit has all the things one could possibly need to utilize the wonderful beaches (snorkel, towels, sand toys, boogey boards). If there was anything to complain about it would be that parts of the unit could use a bit more cleaning (under beds, closets and dishes) but this didn’t really detract from our stay. Overall we had a wonderful time and would certainly stay again!

I stayed here with 4 adults and could have easily fit more. We didn’t even use the loft area with two twin beds and it’s own bathroom. The owner was very responsive to questions. We had one less day here than planned due to a huge travel delay by the airline. The owner’s refunded us our first night which was unexpected but very much appreciated. The view from the lanai is spectacular. If I travel to Keauhou again I would definitely book this condo again.

We were a family of 4 and the place felt spacious. I think that the pictures are misleading since the apartment is bigger and more updated than the images show. (Change your pictures since they are underselling the place.)
Now, when I saw the picture of the whale I told my family "c'mon, they don't expect us to believe that those pictures are from the apartment" but we saw whales twice from the balcony. The view is beautiful and you are SO CLOSE to the sea. Make sure to grab for yourself the bedroom next to the LANAI (Balcony). Since I was still functioning in a different time zone I would wake up at 5 am sometimes with an amazing view of an orange moon in the sky. (The day of the Tsunami alert I slept with an eye open but that would apply to most rentals in the coast)
The balcony was big and we had dinner there every evening. Many times, beautiful birds would fly onto the balcony.
We didn't miss the AC since the breeze is fantastic.
It was a nice surprise to open the closets and find beach gear (chairs, umbrellas, beach towels, etc). The kitchen was well stocked with spices, oil and other basic cooking supplies. We stayed in other short rentals in the island and we noticed that here there was not shampoo or shower gel. (But we always carry extra and to be honest, I hate when small bottles are provided (Such an unnecessary waste).
We found a very good snorkeling spot a little north of the condominium: Kahalu’u (10 min walk) and a good supermarket 10 mins walk in the shopping area (KTA super stores).
Overall it was a very good experience.

We had a lovely time staying here as an extension to a large family vacation. The location is amazing with a well stocked house for any of your needs (we brought a 2yo & baby in tow). Some things were a bit aged (furniture, paint in spots), but the price for what you get can’t be beat.
A few things we learned on this trip (and in no way reflects badly on the property itself) - get the air conditioner if you travel here (from what I was told) Aug-Oct. I’ve visited Kona often in the past with a combined total of several months stay during the months Dec-May range and the evenings get quite cool (I have a photo of me bundled in a wool sweater one morning). I had that expectation and we didn’t opt for the air conditioning that I think you can pay extra for. While most nights eventually got tolerably cool, our warmest night had a low of 77. The house has amazing be ventilation, but don’t plan on privacy to enjoy that, you will want doors open between the bedrooms in order to get the best air flow (again, that is based on warm, humid days).
We felt sort of bad about our toddler running pitterpat and did our best to settle him (at very early hours coming from Eastern time) and there are requests to try to respect the neighbors below, so you may want to forgo the incredible top floor unit if you know your children will stomp around. We only feel mildly bad because the downstairs guests smoked a joint and stunk up our condo for an afternoon, so maybe we all evened out.
Lastly, it’s a 3rd floor walk up - I would personally opt for the top for great views and airflow, but unexpected to us when we booked this condo 9 months or so ago was that one of our party would be needing a knee replacement soon. They were able to get up and down the stairs, but obviously with foresight would have book something a little more disabled friendly.
Either way, it was a nice stay, the location can’t be beat. Incredible ocean views and a nice resort community to enjoy as well (we enjoyed walking around the complex - including the black sands beach, swimming in the pool). And from this location - we did day trips to Hilo, Volcanoes National Park, Waimea and then up North to Hiwa area as well as snorkeled a short walk at Kahaluu beach.

We stayed at this ocean front condo late Novemeber and early December 2021. The condo was clean and comfortable, the check-in was very easy, and comunication with the owner was timely and very easy. The condo is well equipped for a group up to 8 with a well stocked kitchen, and plenty of seating, both inside and on the lani. The location of the condo offers an ocean view and sunsets that are second to none. The condo complex is very well maintained and very quite. It’s a very nice place for a Big Island vacation.

Beautiful grounds and the location was perfect. Our only issues were no parking passes and no keys to the pool. We would definitely come back. The rooms were spaced out nicely so our 15 year old grandson could have his own space.

View in the back patio is right on the shoreline and was amazing. Even saw some dolphins swimming (far away, but can see them jumping out of the water). Snorkeling beach nearby. Nice to have beach chairs and an umbrella available in the house to bring to the beach. Also great having all kitchen equipment and spices for when we wanted to cook. Great place!

The location and view of this property was amazing! It’s a nice and quiet community. We had all the amenities and supplies needed to cook, explore beaches and do some road trips. The 1 thing I will say, the beach chairs could really be updated! The straps were all broken which made them hard to carry as “backpacks” like they are intended. The place was clean (except the curtains could use dusting) and they even let us drop off our belongings prior to check in. We didn’t think to check if the unit had A/C because we didn’t think we’d need it but that would have been nice since it was unusually hot when we were there. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!

Given the risen Covid cases in Hawaii, we had to cancel our trip at the very last minute, a day before our flight. Witold was extremely kind and gave us a full refund even though he didn’t need to. For that we are grateful. We really hope to be able to stay at their condo once it is safer to travel.

We were very happy with the location, cleanliness, and amenities of the property. Our only issue was we apparently left a parking hangtag in the rental car when we returned it (possibly a more prominent note about the hangtags would have helped) and we didn't get notified about it until after the next renters stayed there and mentioned they didn't have a hangtag. We were charged $60 to replace it. I don't have a problem with that but I would have expected to be notified as soon as the cleaners identified it was missing, not after the next renters had already come and gone. By then it was too late for us to do anything about it. Other than that, great place to stay!

Very nice location and scenic. It is close to grocery stores and restaurants. The condo offers everything you need in kitchen. It even has multiple booge boards and beach umbrellas for you to use. How convenient!! Parking is just right in front of your unit. There is no need to walk a great distance with suitcases and grocery. A great stay!

I and our 5 other guests very much enjoyed this spacious, airy condo with wonderful ocean views. Every room was comfortable and it was an absolute treat to listen to the ocean eaves outside every night and morning on the porch outside. The kitchen was fully stocked with every utensil we needed and the showers all worked to everyone's satisfaction. The place is also close to downtown Kona, our favorite restaurant (Sam Choy's) and the KTA is less than 10 minutes away. The condo complex itself was clean and well landscaped.
We would absolutely book here again for future trips to Hawai'i.

We were truly impressed with all the cooking amenities that were available in the kitchen as we stayed in and cook dinner every night to save money. This condo had everything we needed to make our meals for our large family. We loved having coffee every morning on the Lanai and listening to the waves. There’s enough room in this unit to accommodate all 7 of us and the dining table has seating for 8 people which is nice so we can eat together as most homes we’ve rented would have a table for 6 and 2 barstools at the kitchen counter. This condo tend to be really warm during the day as this unit does not have air conditioning but there is a ceiling fan and a portable fan in every room so that helps a lot and we were always gone after breakfast and because we had to leave the sliding glass doors opened at night for the cool air we also heard the waves all night long so I had to wear ear plugs to sleep but I am more sensitive to noise then most. There were beach chairs and umbrellas available for us to use at the beach and an ice cooler that was helpful to keep our groceries cold. I had a question for the owners and they were quick to reply back to my email.

This condo is very conviently located near many locations. The view from the lanei was beautiful and we enjoyed the sound of the waves and the sunsets at night. There was plenty of room for our family of four and the only complaint that I had was that the condo was very warm while we were there. 2 extra fans were provided for us the following morning after our arrival, when requested, which did help some. This property was conveniently located near golf, sea kayaking, community tennis and pool, snorkeling, and downtown Kona. And the oceanfront location and evening sunsets were superb. The floorplan was actually quite comfortable considering we had 6 people (3 couples) in the condo. Take advantage of the conveniently located community ramada and grilling area. There will never be all the comforts of home but that's part of the fun of travelling. The main floor back bedroom was a bit uncomfortably warm for one couple and the balcony screen sliders had a tendency to fall off the tracks. Loft bathroom was very small but functional and overall the unit is very comfortable.

This is an airy, comfortable unit within a lovely landscaped property. Though there was no air conditioning, the ceiling fans helped to circulate the already blowing breeze from the ocean coming from the screen doors. This unit is 3rd floor, right on the water overlooking the ocean. It was fun to sit every morning on the lanai for breakfast and watch the boats, paddle boarders, rowers, snorkelers and everything else go by. Third bedroom is a loft with twin beds. Master bedroom overlooks the water. 2 tables on the lanai make it easy for larger groups to sit and eat together. We loved the pool. It’s about a 4 mile drive to or from all the main activity in Kona, but just down the hill from grocery shopping and a little shopping/dining area. We enjoyed being at the condo almost as much as we enjoyed being out and about. This is a great unit and if we come back to this island in the future we would love to stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The unit has a great location overlooking the surf, and the two sets of sliding glass doors make you feel right there on the shore. The location of the Surf & Raquet Club on Ali’i Drive was also great - minutes away from excellent beaching/snorkeling. Thanks for sharing your very nice condo with us!

My family stayed here for several days starting on Christmas. There were 5 adults, and we had plenty of room. We have only positive things to say about the condo itself:
-The owners were responsive before and during our stay.
-There were lots of amenities, including a large, well-equipped kitchen and a good bit of water sports/beach equipment (and anything not provided can probably be easily rented for a reasonable price at one of the local beaches)
-The condo was well-kept and seemed quite clean (though there were occasional small ants on the kitchen counters).
-The balcony runs the length of the condo and provides a great view of whales, water sports, birds, and sunsets. It's a very peaceful place to read, eat your meals, or just sit and relax.
-The ceilings are high, and there are plenty of ceiling fans (even in the kitchen!) to help keep the air moving.
-The wifi worked well.
-There are at least 2 TVs, but I can't say anything else about them, because we preferred to be out on the lanai or outside the complex snorkeling or sightseeing.
A quick note to other visitors not familiar with the area: The distance between the condo and downtown Kona looks fairly small, but at least during the week we were there (and therefore possibly due to the holiday), the traffic closer to downtown was terrible. Fortunately, there's a shopping center and several restaurants near the condo, but build in a little extra time if you have dinner or luau reservations in/near town.
On a related note, it is very helpful to rent a car if you plan to get out and about. Uber and Lyft are available, but you will want a car unless you are only planning to sit on the lanai or walk to the nearby beach for snorkeling.
We enjoyed our visit to Kona and would recommend this condo without reservation to anyone staying in the area. My only regret is that our vacation wasn't longer!

The owners are wonderful people and the place was just as seen on VRBO. It was at the south end of Ali'i drive and perfect spot for Ironman. In fact it was walking distance (1/2mile) to the 5 mile run turnaround. Great beaches walking distance as well. The ocean view was magnificent, the ocean breeze and sounds amazing and amenities were spot on. The place is stocked with all needed. Highly suggest this place for your next trip to Kona.
