The Ginger Beach House was the perfect home for me and my friends. The house itself is even more gorgeous than the photos depict! Spacious with beautiful fittings throughout. Excellent air conditioning when needed. Well-appointed kitchen and very comfortable beds. We spent many hours drinking cocktails on the lanai as the surf crashed. Many a walk taken on the beach. The owners were responsive and an issue with the hot water service fixed within the hour. The location both feels isolated, but is also only a short drive to eat out or buy groceries. I would spend every holiday here if i could!

We had a wonderful time. When I read the reviews about the noise, I was a little concerned. I want to stress that there was no noise. We had a very peaceful and beautiful time. The beach access is amazing and so private. The local neighbors were very nice. I did yoga at sunrise, and I was the only person on the beach. Please don’t be concerned about the noise. I am so glad I didn’t let those reviews effect my decision.

This rental exceeded our expectations. The house and views are more beautiful than the web can show you. We had 9 adults and we able to gather at the dining room table but also we all had space to separate if we wanted. House was stocked with everything you need for inside or for the beach. We were there 7 nights and only one night did the park next door disturb me sleeping in the MBR, but they stopped at 11pm, so no big deal. Ryan and Mindy were very responsive and helpful with normal requests and a few curveballs. Definitely recommend this place and would rebook.

One level with lanai on beach and away sides. Beautiful view to the adjacent beach and ocean from front of house, common grass space between house and beach with hedge creates privacy from people on the beach but with easy walking access to get to the sand (60 sec). House AC works well, we used sporadically only (August) as the design of the house including fans and circulation is well thought out. House is nicely appointed but that is expected at this very high price point. Be aware that the comments regarding noise from locals revving motorcycle, 4x4, etc engines immediately adjacent to the house are absolutely true. The sound is not prominent if windows are closed and using AC but with house open to circulation, can hear it right next to master bedroom early (7am) and through the evening pretty much every day. The noise is much less prominent in other parts of the house.

First, the house and property are fantastic. Very comfortable, well stocked kitchen, great room is open and perfect for hanging out, deck is also great. The down side is that the house and master BR abut the local access “road” to the beach. And while we got a note from the manager AFTER we had booked about the popularity of the beach for locals and that it gets noisy with the motorbikes on the weekends, that was too late for consideration, and an understatement. Not only are there motorcycles whining and reconfirm at all hours, you get to have the locals hanging in their trucks and cars just through the hedges and listen to their bass thumping and smell of cigarette smoke all night. The beach is beautiful, but get ready for the same locals running their beach trucks up and down the beach like a Baja race all day long (and night too). The beach feels more like Central America, which we love and go into expecting this sort of environment. But for the price and Kaua’i, it was disappointing and not as advertised. If you want to have a “local” experience and/or rent a Jeep or Tacoma and race up and down the beach, it’s a great spot. If you want a beach with the Kaua’i beauty and peace, check out Hanalei.

This house is beautiful on the inside and outside!! There were 10 of us staying here and we loved the huge outside deck! There were plenty of comfy chairs to sit on. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed from coffee to grilling supplies to glasses and utensils. Mindy was very quick to respond when we had a question and the owner Ryan made us feel very welcome and at home in his house. The views are amazing and we all loved how close the beach was!! We had a great time!!

The property is beautiful on a local beach. Ryan and Mindy are very responsive. We loved watching the local surfers. Reviews State noise from motocross bikes but it was minimal and part of the local flair. The house is very well appointed and the neighborhood is quiet. We would definitely rent again from Ryan. Absolutely delightful home and amenities

We are locals and this getaway and family bday celebration was magical thanks to this incredible home on the beautiful and serene anahola. This hale (home) has it all. Every amenity and air conditioning too! Mahalo and thank you for sharing your haven

This was the perfect spot for our post Covid family reunion of sorts. We had family members from France, Germany, as well as Denver and Huntington Beach. We couldn’t have ask for a better property to suite our needs. Ginger Beach House is in an ideal location, very well maintained and with a very accommodating owner and property manager.. Ryan and Mindy were very attentive to our needs and available to answer any questions we had.. Our only complaint was not being able to stay in this beautiful and magical place longer. Thank you for helping our family create a unforgettable memory!

The house is beautiful and very well kept. The views from the back deck are indescribable with sweeping ocean front. Wild chickens everywhere on the island make it quaint as they run through the yard. The outdoor shower, beach chairs and boogie boards are convenient. The kitchen is very well stocked with all the utensils and kitchen equipment you need. The beds are remarkably comfortable. The AC units are strong or you can simply turn on the many ceiling fans for climate control. Highly recommend!

This is a beautiful home located in a fantastic location. Most evenings were spent grilling and enjoying the beautiful views. The beach is accessible and a great place to swim and relax. Over the weekend the master bedroom picks up a lot of noise from the campers and motor bikes. But the rest of the house was not impacted. Love the option of air-conditioning. Easy access to the rest of the island. I highly recommend this home.

This was a college graduation trip for my son and we had 3 generations staying at the house. It was a perfect layout, plenty of common area space and the bedrooms and bathrooms were wonderfully appointed. We spent a huge amount of time on the deck facing the ocean and the outdoor showers were great for cleaning up after a dip in the ocean. Some other reviews mentioned motorbike or truck noise but we found it to be negligible. For most of the stay we practically had the beach to ourselves — and what a fantastic beach for walking and swimming! We cannot wait to come back!

My family and friends truly enjoyed our stay at Ginger Beach House. Lots of space to be together or by yourself. Wonderful large deck. Beach just other side of bushes. Not a crowded beach. More locals than tourists. The only drawback was you need a car. You cannot walk to shops, grocery or restaurants. That is why you have a beautiful kitchen to share meals at the ten seat round table. Would definitely return . GJ from Colorado.

The house is beautiful and perfectly maintained. However, this is no "Hawaiian Paradise" We learned the hard way that Anahola Beach is a local Hawaiian neighborhood and the locals seem to be angry to have visitors. This home is right next to a public park and access to the beach which attracts motor bikes that torment all day and all night. These bikes treat the beach like it's a motocross event. We counted 5 abandoned vehicles on the beach with people living in some of those cars. Vehicles are also allowed on the beach; coming and going all night. We heard at least 4 cars get stuck in the sand in the middle of the night. Boom boxes too. Since the house isn’t air conditioned, you can’t shut the windows or doors to help close out the noise. It feels as if the motorcycles are in your living room. Let’s not forget the roosters that never shut up. They crow all day, except around 8pm to 3am then they start again. The roosters are infested in the neighborhood and the hedges next to the master bedroom. We appreciate the rooster heritage on the island but this area is way out of control. You will learn to go to sleep when the roosters do if you want some rest, but the motocross is still happening so you never know what to expect. So, if you're looking for your own “Private Hawaiian Paradise” as advertised; I’m sorry but this is not what we experienced.

A beautiful home with a big yard and a great massive beach almost to yourselves just steps away. Even when the waves were too big you could still get in and play close to shore or walk to the calmer end of the bay to the right. At lowish tide there was a perfect protected pool for toddlers and kids that don’t swim right in front of the house. When waves were a bit too big you could still swim nicely just left of the kids pool. The yard was a great place to play games, toddlers to chase birds, collect coconuts (good eating) and generally be out without getting sandy again. The state park right next door did bring loud vehicles on the beach on the weekend and a few nights very late but didn’t bother us really. The locals are cautious of strangers but after inviting some of the local kids to play in our sandcastles we made some friends, wonderfull people once the ice broke. After a big rainfall you might get some scum in the water from the horses and dogs but it goes by quickly, like any secluded beach. Unlike many wild beaches this one has almost no junk and plastic washed up on it. The campsite a short beach walk away is a great place for additional/or in need of time away from babies, young adults to stay, they have bunkies and fires are allowed. Kapaa was close and a great little town for all needs and great take out foods. Lot’s of day trip hikes and beaches around for a change of scenery but you have to plan them because it’s just too easy to step onto your beach and think of nothing else.

This was a beautiful house set on a great beach. We saw turtles, whales and a shark. It was a perfect fit for our family of 6 adults and 3 children. Plenty of toys and beach accessories. Yes, there is noice of vehicles going to the beach. The family was even entertained in listening to one getting stuck for over an hour. The chickens definitely let you know they live on the island! The manager was not responsive at all to us, but the owner Ryan was very helpful. Disappointed that the hot tub was not working, but they provided a small temporary one. The children loved the outdoor shower with hot water to rinse off after the beach. A few things need fixing, but overall would highly recommend Ginger house.

This home is beautiful and comfortable with a stunning view and ocean access right out the back! The beds were very comfortable (2 kings, a full/queen, bunks and a Murphy bed) and each room has easy access to the deck along ocean views. The second king room does require you to pass through the "children's" room (or go outside to enter through the slider) and share a bathroom, unless you are willing to step outside said slider where a the 4th bathroom is located. This was ok for us, but might not work for everyone. The kitchen is well appointed and allowed us to cook many meals to enjoy at the large dining table. A bonus for sure :) The major downside is the constant noise from vehicles all night long, along with the headlights that would shine into the bedroom windows. I had read the reviews, so I was aware of, just not truly prepared for the amount of non-stop traffic at all hours. *There was an event on our last day there that we were unaware of that consisted of hundreds of people, loud speakers, and at least 50 vehicles parked on the beach directly in back of the home. This event started at 7am with vehicles arriving at 4am and lasted until 6pm. Although it was kind of cool to watch the bodysurfers, It would have been nice to know, in advance, (it was an annual event) so the we could have made other plans for that day. It being our last day at the home we had planned to spend it there enjoying the beach which was not available that day.* Would I recommend it, YES! It's a locals beach, so taking the good with the bad - a beautiful, sandy beach out your back door of your beautiful home, with minimal to no crowds - along with some local flavor. Just be prepared to close your windows, doors and drapes at night, if you are at all a light sleeper, to avoid being disturb by the local pastime. It truly is a beautiful home and worth every penny, even more so if it was even three houses down from the entrance to the state park!

This place was beautifully decorated, well stocked, and the beach is perfectly accessible. There is no A/C, so if you struggle with just fans--you may be planning on leaving your doors open. However, the roosters (all over the island) and the local motorbikes/trucks are regularly heard, driving on the beach behind the house. So, we had to close up things at night and it got a little warm in December/January, even with the fans. The property manager was VERY quick to respond when we had a hot water issue. The owner was very friendly when we had a hot tub issue, offering us a partial refund for the problem. They both agreed to allow us to stay almost the entire day on checkout because our flight left at 9PM. That really meant a lot to us, alleviating a lot of stress about the day. We didn't use the large outside table unfortunately because there were very large spiders and their nests covering most of the deck. We could have knocked them down with a broom ourselves, but somehow it felt wrong. The outside furniture is somewhat moldy (which is understandable), but probably needs to be replaced soon. There is an outside shower, and an entire outside bathroom, which is very helpful on beach days. There are lots of toys/chairs/cooler/beach towels/umbrella, etc. Everything for a day at the beach is available for use and in good condition. Anahola is close to the airport (30 minutes) and relatively central whether you are doing North or South island activities. Overall, the space and the inside furnishings are amazing, the view is amazing and there are a lot of reasons to choose this option.

We loved our stay here! Beautiful house and walking right out to the beach was so great! Beautiful views from the house! Super clean and neat when we arrived! The one drawback is the beach is a locals beach and they drive their pickups and dirt bikes on the beach at ALL hours of day and night..2:00,am 3:00am and are pretty noisy. The master bedroom is right next to the road that they drive down to the beach so it’s louder at that end of the house in dead of night. It should also be noted that one of the queen bedrooms is accessed thru the bunk bed room. A little awkward but there is access thru the sliding door in that bedroom. It goes out to the patio and the outside connecting bathroom. Considering all that I still give this place 5 stars. Mindy the manager is great to work with and helpful. The beach is not a crowded one and so nice even with the pickups coming and going sometimes. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay!! Thank you!

This house is great for big family vacations. There is plenty of space to spread out and relax, and plenty of amenities to cover all the daily necessities like cooking and laundry. So close to the beach and a short drive from fun spots all around. Natural beauty abounds. Host is very responsive.

We had a group of 7 adults for a week at Ginger Beach House…. I have traveled to Hawaii at least 15 times and have stayed in all types of properties, from the Ritz to and inexpensive upcountry bungalow on Maui….. This property rings all the bells and for sure checks all the boxes. If after staying here, you are considering a negative review due to the public using the beach or no AC… STOP - Don’t - that is on you. Every post here mentions that and neither situation is an issue. What ever noise is created by folks using the beach is almost completely drowned out by the waves crashing on the beach. Ceiling fans and conventional fans (also create some white noise) will keep you cool. The beauty of this home is as described or seen in the pictures. The location is key as well. Easy trip north over to Hanalei or down to airport or Poipu. Now for the good stuff!!!!! Beautiful view of the bay from EVERY room in the house! A lanai the size of a small continent with comfortable furniture set up to enjoy the outdoors… If you are in Hawaii to sit in your air conditioned room… you might want to reconsider your trip… save the long flight and go to a hotel on the mainland and look at a seascape on the 50” TV. Be sure and spend some time on “your beach” it is quite wonderful with life guards close by that will tell you if you are about to do something stupid. During the day sitting on the Lanai or in the chairs in the backyard… it is like you have your own little world and at night… the stars! Ryan has done a great job furnishing the property. Beds are comfortable and there is plenty of seating in the great room for your group. The huge round dinning table made the evening meals at home perfect! The kitchen has all the utensils you will need. Two coffee makers (one is a kuerig) great pans, sharp knives and new fridge. Tons of glassware and dishes. A second fridge in the garage is very useful and the beach chairs, umbrella, cooler and b-boards were a great bonus as well…. Come here… soak it all in and enjoy the Ginger Beach House. It is a fantastic property. BB

This was not a five star experience due to two major issues: 1) Noise. There's public beach access right next to the property, meaning endless dirt bikes and trucks drive by at all hours of the day (10pm, 1am, 5am), plus people burn wood on the beach, creating a nonstop smoke smell. There is no air conditioning, which would normally be fine, but this fact requires you to keep the windows/doors open 24/7 and there is no escaping the noise and smell. 2) Privacy. You have to walk through the "bunk room" to access the second king bedroom. We stayed with three other non-family couples and this was hugely frustrating, since the pictures and description don't make this clear at all. Also, all of the bedroom and bathroom doors are vented, which means every little sound travels throughout the house and down the hallways, even hushed conversations. This might be OK for families, but not for our trip. Beyond that, there were numerous issues ranging from "no big deal" to "seriously?" The master bathroom shower was broken and no one ever came to start repairs. Many of the sliding door handles, screens, and windows were loose or broken entirely. The queen bedroom towel rack fell off, and a lot of fixtures and furniture seemed worn in general. The clothes dryer had sensor issues and made a lot of noise. The property was touted as having snorkeling equipment, but there was none when we arrived. Hair dryers were supposed to be in each bathroom, but we only found two. The hot tub was off when we arrived, and initially the property manager didn't know how to turn it on. The back patio steps got very slippery in the rain (one person in our party actually fell). One smoke alarm battery was dead/chirping and no one ever came to replace it. The bunkroom TV had lines/pixel issues. The fabric softener in the laundry rooms expired in 2019 and was congealed. Other things to be aware of that did not negatively impact our stay: The roosters crow nonstop, but they get a pass for having Kauai charm. The fourth bathroom is not accessible from the interior of the house. Mindy, the property manager, was incredibly responsive to our texts. There are two sets of washers/dryers, which was convenient. The kitchen is excellent for cooking and the utensils are high-end. We loved the views, the sunrises, the beach access, and the spaciousness. Everything else was as described and fantastic. I would absolutely stay here again, but not at this pricetag.

October 2021
The Ginger Beach House is absolutely gorgeous! Magnificent views from every room. The house is spacious and wide and is well stocked in all rooms especially the kitchen. It has everything you would need to whip up something delicious, all while taking in the gorgeous view of the ocean. Beautiful yard and plenty of outdoor living space to relax or play games. The beach is steps away and is pretty private. We had perfect weather, and enjoyed the beautiful stars at night. Listening to the ocean waves at night was very peaceful. The people we met in the local neighborhood were very friendly. We heard motorcycle noise occasionally, but it did not bother us. We were in paradise at the Ginger Beach House! Ryan the owner was wonderful to work with. Also, Mindy the manager was very helpful and friendly. Our family of 5 had an amazing 10 day vacation. We loved every minute of our stay and did not want to leave! We highly recommend The Ginger Beach House. It truly is PARADISE!! Juli K.

It’s a beautiful home, but it needs a little TLC. After a BIG trip to Costco, we learned the compressor was out in the refrigerator. Thankfully, there was a second fridge downstairs in the garage, which wasn’t convenient, but saved our food from going bad. The owner was quick to deliver another refrigerator, also in the garage, which was helpful, but not necessary. The tub/shower in one of the rooms didn’t drain properly, so the couple in that room showered in a different bathroom. The hot tub didn’t work. When I asked about it, the property manager said they were waiting on a new control panel. Roman (the handyman) came out twice. Once to investigate the refrigerator and once to drop off more propane for the BBQ. He was also nice enough to drop off cornhole. A game we were all looking forward to playing. The next door neighbor, Lizzie, complained twice about us playing horseshoes. The first night was at 7:40PM. The second night was at 9:40PM. We were aware of quiet hours on the island, and everyone was inside by 10PM. There are a lot of locals on the beach, and at night they race up & down on their dirt bikes, which is super loud. Overall, the house was accommodating for our party of 10. We loved the circular dinner table. It allowed all of us to eat together, and provided a great space to play games. The house was stocked with lots of beach towels & bath towels. There were 2 washer & dryers on-site, which was super beneficial. We spent most of our time outside, on the beautiful deck, or playing in the yard.

We stayed here before 6 years ago and have always wanted to return! The house is beautiful, large, and well stocked. It has a huge backyard that has a vegetation separation from the beach with a path directly to the beach. The sunrises are superb! The beach is so beautiful with few people there most of the time. The homeowners, Beth and Joe, are extremely kind and accommodating. The only downside is the beach park next door which has noise. People can, and do, drive their vehicles onto this beach. We would still come back again anyway since it is such a special place!

The house was perfect for our family. It is beautiful, just like the pictures. Everything you could want is there - beach equipment, well-appointed kitchen, kids toys, hot tub. The only drawback is the dirt bike noise and vehicles on the beach, especially in the evening. Overall, this is a minor annoyance compared to the incredible setting on the beach. Everyone ranging in age from 3 to over 70 had a spectacular time. I would recommend the house highly and I would definitely go back.

Our extended family all enjoyed this beautiful well appointed home. Place was immaculate and fully stocked with all amenities. Property management was great with timely communication. There was some noise from off road vehicles in the night, but for the house and location, we would love to stay here again.

The property is beautiful! The house is wonderfully stocked with everything from beach towels to laundry detergent to cooking spices. We cooked every night and the kitchen had everything we needed. We dined on the Lanai for both breakfast and dinner. The owners were helpful, attentive and took care of all of the details. Their property manager was excellent.

Our adult family of 7 stayed at the Ginger Beach House last week and absolutely loved it. The house is beautiful and high end, perfect for 3 couples and a single. It is well stocked in the kitchen and elsewhere with beach towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, snorkeling gear etc. There is a lot of outdoor living space with large decks front and back. The master bedroom and bath are fantastic, but all the rooms are nicely furnished. The location right on the beach was great and we spent many hours body surfing and boogie boarding. Anahola is a perfect location to tour Kauai from. As some reviewers have mentioned there is noisy dirt bike and truck traffic on the beach, with more action on weekends, but it did not bother us too much. The overwhelming positives out weighed this one negative aspect. Beth is a great host and she and her property manager were engaged and available. We would highly recommend the Ginger House!

The property description is not too good to be true....it is accurate. Beautiful house with beautiful views. The owner and property managers were very accommodating and extremely nice. They had plenty of beach towels, snorkel gear, b-boards, umbrellas, and beach chairs. Everything you need. Beds were comfortable. Chef's kitchen with everything you need to cook anything. A good barbecue grill on the deck. Just pick up the groceries and you are set for the whole week. Hot tub was very clean. No air conditioning, and it was toasty in the house at times during the day, but the ceiling fans and room fans did the trick. We were comfortable. The beach at the property is great. Certain times a day are good for boogie boarding. We did not snorkel here. Easy access to north or south sides of the island. Neighborhood/location is good. The locals like to motorcycle on the beach and drive their trucks down the road adjacent to the house and onto the beach, but mostly this was on weekends. They were all quite friendly to us, for the most part. The state park is next door, and there is a small population of homeless folks that camp in there, but they mostly keep to themselves. We still made sure to put everything away each night off the back deck, just in case. My adult kids could not believe how nice it was. They said many times they felt like they were being treated like celebrities. Beth, Mel and Mandy were wonderful to work with. I would not hesitate to rent from them again. Thanks for a wonderful week of memories! Hope to do it again in the future.

This house was great for our family vacation. The home is stocked with just about everything you could ever need. So many towels and all the beach toys and chairs you could ever want. The beach is actually the back yard. There is a close town with great food and shopping. The only complaint we had was the location. The house is immediately next to the access point for the Anahola beach, so you hear cars all day and night. You hear dirt bikers riding around all hours of the night, and locals would pull into the access point of the beach and blare their music and bass from their cars at all hours of the night. But the house is hands down the best home I’ve stayed in on vacation, Beth was always available to talk to, and the beach was everything we could have asked for! Highly recommend!!
