What a wonderful location. It was so nice watching the whales breach and turtles swim in the bay. Rooms were comfortable and it's a perfect setup for a family of four. Views are spectacular and the location is ideal for this side of the island.

This is a very peaceful, quiet, serene location. Family + retiree friendly, this is the perfect scene to decompress and breathe. We watched Sea Turtles from the balcony every day, they swim in the bay at all times. Lynn (the owner) is friendly and responsive. All good!

We just finished our fourth time staying at the Kahana Sunset Resort. The last two times we have stayed in Lynn Foster's A-1 Condo Unit. We will never stay anywhere else when we visit Maui! This A-1 Condo is a corner unit and believe me when I say that it offers the most spectacular Maui Beach view you could ever hope for. The condo is extremely well stocked and very, very clean! It has access to a private beach just feet from the front door. If that's not enough the condo's balcony overlooks a Sea-Turtle Preserve and you are able to watch sea-turtles feed on the reef below. It's amazing! The A-1 Condo is a great value, but the best part of renting this unit is dealing with it's owner, Lynn Foster. Lynn is very professional, very fair, and very accommodating. Her friendly manner makes the vacation experience one that you are sure to enjoy. As I said, we will never stay anywhere else on Maui!

We had a nice stay. Great location. The place had some definite problems. The Lanaii (balcony) in the living room is not what shows in the video. The whole corner of the balcony is blocked of because the deck is compromised. The patio area below the unit is blocked off with the inability to sit there and use the barbecues. There is erosion serious enough to prevent standing on the deck. The upper bathroom sink need ti be unstopped and the plunger repaired. The water refused to drain. The back bedroom shower had blond hair stuck in the walls. We had ti clean the showers. They were not properly cleaned. The shower flooring was slimy. The screen in the upper bedroom was torn. A handyman had to be called to tighten all the Rowell rack. One fell off the wall and hit my wifes foot. Given all that we still had a good time. The unit had excellent air conditioning and was comfortable enough. The views over the water were beautiful.

This is the second time we have rented this unit and it’s terrific! It’s clean, comfortable and the views are to die for. It’s so nice to wake up and enjoy our coffee with turtles swimming below us and whales off in the distance. Such a relaxing week!

If you are considering choosing this condo because of the beach, beach access or the condition of the water - BEWARE - it MAY NOT be as depicted in the owner's photos. We chose this unit because of the beach, beach access and condition of the water only to find out when we arrived on Oct 6 that there wasn't a beach as depicted. We complained to the owner only to be told that she was "sorry Mother Nature showed up" when we arrived. We talked to locals and renters and they confirmed that the beach has been in a state of severe erosion for some time. The front row of condos in the photo on the beach have been deemed uninsurable and are scheduled for demolition. This did not happen on the day we arrived. We spent 8 days there and the conditions never improved. No one could even walk on the beach due to high surf/waves. We had no choice but to drive to a nearby beach since there was not one on the property or nearby. The unit itself is very nice, clean, fully appointed, comfortable beds, etc. But we didn't choose this unit to just sit by the pool or on the deck and listen to the pounding surf.
Also, the wrap around balcony is not accessible all the way around as shown in pictures. The corner of the balcony appeared to be structurally unsound and not just a simple repair that they are waiting on a repairman to fix. It is tastefully blocked off but is another example of the erosion and damage that the complex is experiencing Lynn was nice enough to give us a credit to use for a lovely dinner. But for the amount of money we spent to stay there it didn't take away the disappointment of our stay.
We feel that the photos on VRBO of the beach and beach access and water condition are very misleading and should be removed.

The views from this condo are stunning- both from the downstairs and the master bedroom. We enjoyed them for hours! The air conditioning was a welcome respite from the heat and so many careful details were attended to.
Working with Lynn was a delight, and she was very attentive and thoughtful. The condo is centrally located to Napili and Kapalua and parking was no issue. We would come back!

Lovely view and the owner was very responsive to all questions and texts but we were disappointed that the owner waited until the day we arrived to communicate the fact that half of the deck was closed and would not be accessible to our family. If we are paying a premium price I would have appreciated that this was communicated prior to arrival. Additionally there were light fixtures with no light bulbs and the unit needed a little TLC/updates ro justify the cost.

Excellent. It is truly oceanfront. The corner location gives one a panoramic view. The oceanfront patio was where I spent much of the time reading, napping, or just listening to the surf. The setting is quiet and peaceful, which was what I was seeking in this trip. The only downside, and it was relatively minor, was that there really isn’t any restaurant within easy walking distance. I believe the closest restaurants were at the Napili center, about 1/2 mile away. I would stay here again. Aloha.

The condo is right on the water.. Views & Sun Sets can not be beat. Property is green and beautiful... The small private beach was nice.. and the turtles were amazing to see each day. Common area on main floor is fantastic for 2 couples..

We strongly recommend Lyn's place. It's the best unit on the Kahana Sunset property, with a wrap around deck and unobstructed views. The beach is easily accessed and you have everything you need in the apartment. Very comfortable, clean and well organized. Shops and restaurants are very close at Napili plaza, and the resort itself is well maintained and looked after.

If coming to Maui for a vacation, you cannot beat this spot! First and foremost, Lynn was a pleasure to work with in renting her condo. Her local restaurant guide was very helpful. She truly went "above and beyond" to ensure we had a wonderful stay. The location is amazing! Corner lot of the condo complex right on top and overlooking the private beach and beautiful, clear waters of Kaopala--the pictures are spot on. The condo was well appointed with everything we needed and perfect for the four of us. My only suggestion is that it is probably time for a new mattress in the master bedroom and the toilet in the guest bedroom runs (but that didn't really bother my kids). Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

This is our second stay in Lynn’s little piece of heaven. If you want beach, sea, sunsets and a place to relax and unwind, this is the spot. The turtles even come to you. I am past the activities stage and only left the condo few times to go to dinner. Private. Beautifully decorated. Well equipped. Just Perfect.

This property was amazing. The pictures are accurate and the view is nothing short of spectacular. While standing on the balcony you look directly down to the water below. We saw turtles while on the balcony every day. Though the whale season hadn’t quite started yet we were fortunate to see 2 breaches while sitting on the balcony. The kitchen was also very well appointed. We will definitely be returning. By far the best unit at this beautiful property.

This property is such a gem. We saw turtles daily and you can snorkel in your front yard. The beach was fun to swim at and never more then a few people on it a time.
Lynn was a great host. She checked in with us to ensure safe arrival and to see if we needed anything else, as well as providing us with tons of local information.
The property is beautiful, immaculate gardens and lovely pool. We had an amazing time.

This property is everything advertised and more! The Hosts/Owners are very accommodating and have created a beautiful relaxing paradise from the second you open the door. Kahana Sunset is a great find and Unit A-1 is absolutely the best Unit in the development!! Incredible views and every amenity you could possibly need. Master bed and pillows perfection!! We will be back to enjoy in the future and will only stay in this Unit!!!

The view from the condo was beautiful. We were lucky enough to witness a sea turtle sunning itself on the beach. Access to the beach, pool, and grills was super easy and convenient. We had plenty of room to spread out in the condo and the included amenities made us feel at home. Lynn was very quick to respond to questions and made checking in and out easy. Thank you!

This breathtaking condo is even nicer than the photo. We spent 7 amazing days watching whales breeching every morning and sea turtles grazing every night right from the balcony - our kids loved it and it was well worth the money. On top of that the care and attention that the owner spent ensuring that everything would be ready for our arrival was amazing - they even had some food and condiments in the fridge which came in so handy. The condo is by far the nicest one at the resort because of its location and the air conditioning was such a pleasant surprise. You won't be disappointed with this unit and it is well worth the money.

We had seen the listing and photos, but when we walked in, we were floored. We've travelled the world and stayed in amazing places but THIS is the set-up. It's not only on the sand, it's right over the water. We love it up there in Kahana, too, as elsewhere on the island gets too intensely hot--Kahana is warm and balmy, perfect, and the ocean water was soothing and inviting. The association has it all: every amenity for indoors and out, everything you can imagine, and so does the condo. The owners were SO sweet! We loved the comfy rattan throughout. We could hang out all day in paradise, or do a thousand day trips from there. By the end of the week, something about the ocean sound right there, we were in a pure zen state.

what a beautiful place to spend a heavenly week in Maui! water views everywhere you look, feel like you are on a boat! such comfortable bedrooms and the air conditioning is a very nice touch. the condo had everything you could imagine and more and the beach right outside the doorstep was the nicest we visited during our stay, the water is so clear and blue and the snorkeling/paddle boarding was terrific! i highly recommend staying here and we are planning to come back as soon as possible! many thanks lynn!

A-1 is definitely Paradise. We stayed at Kahana Sunset with another couple for 12 days and did not want to go home. We had plenty of room, privacy and all of the amenities you could need or want. The beds and pillows are the best. All of us slept so sound. Being a corner unit on the ocean, we had an extra large corner deck which was great for dinners, sunsets, morning coffee, and just relaxing, and of course the sounds of the surf. What a view!! Just below us was our own “private beach”. Calm waters, snorkeling and of turtles (lots of turtles). The location of Kahana Sunset is perfect. You’re close to everything - shopping, dining, grocery stores, and activities. We’ve stayed in the A building before, but this unit surpasses all of the other condos in this complex. Planning next year’s trip is already in the works. Mahalo Lynn.

We stayed in A-1 for 2 weeks and we loved it. It's wonderful to go to sleep hearing the waves and to wake up to the view. It's only steps to the beach. The sea turtles are around morning and afternoon just below the condo. The snorkeling is also fun. The rainbows are amazing too.
The condo is beautifully updated and fully stocked with kitchen and service items, plush towels and comfy sheets. The corner patio is larger than the others and affords an incredible view. We are return guests and love A-1! We had 4 and 5 people staying and it great for all of us.
It's wonderful to sit on the patio and watch the sunset. You cannot beat the view! It's great to just hang out there. It's an all around lovely and relaxing experience to stay at A-1.

We have stayed at Kahana Sunset Building A about 8 times and 2 of those times in this unit. Wow, has it really spoiled us! The corner unit is wonderful -- there is so much light in the unit and it is decorated beautifully. Gourmet kitchen facilities make cooking in a fun time. Our favorite time to visit is late February and early March over our anniversary when we can sit on either of the lanai and watch the humpback whales frolick in the ocean. We cannot hardly rent any other unit at the Kahana Sunset or even in Maui (even though we own a timeshare!) If we could own it, we would. It's like home away from home -- only in paradise. You will love it.

We stayed at this absolutely beautiful condo January 11 to 17 and DID NOT want to leave. The furnishings are lovely and exemplify Hawaii at its best. There were four of us and we never felt crowded. Each couple had a spacious private bath and beautiful views from the bedrooms as well as the living room downstairs. The wrap around balcony was heavenly. We watched the wonderful Hawaian sunsets from the balcony or walked a few steps to the sandy beach. It was like we had our own private resort. There are many great restaurants within a very short drive as well as golf courses and shopping . The owners obviously want repeat business as they went out of their way to ensure our comfort. We would rather stay here than in a hotel.

The location was perfect, we were near shopping, grocery stores, local recreation, and of course -the beach. The interior of this unit is clean and well decorated. We found out during our stay that this is one of the only units with Air Conditioning so the inside temps were very comfortable even when it was in the mid 90's outside. Unit has granite counter tops, nice amenities like a big fridge and washer/dryer, large patio and spacious bedrooms (master has ocean view). This unit is directly on the water and provides clear views of sea turtles and even whales! Nice, clean sandy beach and community BBQs available to grill whatever. Highly recommended.

I have had the pleasure of staying at the Foster's condo this past Thanksgiving and continued the festivities in honor of my 40th birthday. I could not think of a more wonderful way to celebrate such an amazing milestone in my life.
This was my third time returning to this exact condo, and there's no place i would rather stay while visiting this amazing paradise! The moment you enter the condo your body will immediately gravitate toward the sliding glass doors, leading you to the most spectacular view of the Pacific you have ever seen. As you open the doors all your senses are immersed in the beauty, the smells, and the sounds all around. You stand there and think, "wow, this is exactly what I needed!"
The family room and kitchen area is a perfect place to host festivities.With a medium sized living room area that includes a couch, table, many places to sit, and enough space for everyone. Around the kitchen area there are multiple bar stools and a large counter top area equip with all the appliances and dining tools needed for any occasion!
Upstairs the bedrooms both have full baths and double sinks so plenty of room for everyone. All of the beds are lined with the most comfortable linens and plush pillows. Located in the master bedroom is a deck area with yet another spectacular view! How can this place get anymore amazing your starting to think right?
My daughter also enjoyed making new friends, and snorkeling at this amazing private beach! If you don't feel up to visiting the beach, you can also enjoy yourself at the heated pool area.Kahana Sunset is extremely kid friendly and welcoming of all ages.
