Just bring the food and drink, or buy at the grocery store only 1/2 mile away. Some other features include an outdoor BBQ area and a built-in gas grill. There is a care-taker living on the adjacent property.
Activities and Attractions - This is a Beachfront property on gentle Mahakea Bay (beautiful white sand beach in the town of Laie, on the North Shore of Oahu). 1/2 mile to Tamura's Grocery & wine store and a CVS/Longs Drug Store, 1 mile to a small movie theater, a few restaurants and 1/2 mile to the Polynesian Cultural Center, 1/2 mile to Pounder's Restaurant. Local shopping includes the Laie shopping center (only 1 mile away). Laie shopping center has a grocery store, a hardware store, an automotive store, a flower shop, a laundromat, a movie theater, banks, a beauty parlor, and many others. The Polynesian Cultural Center has a marketplace with locally owned shops for souvenirs and gifts for friends and family back home, and a new Marriott hotel.

Laie is located on the Windward Coast of Oahu. This is the Hawaii you dream of, a scenic 50-minute drive from the Honolulu Airport. Located 1 hour from Waikiki Beach and Pearl Harbor. The North Shore offers snorkeling, swimming, diving, fishing, windsurfing and of course, world-class surfing. It is much easier to drive to the North Shore surf spots from our location than from downtown Haleiwa or Waialua where you fight the ever-present bumper to bumper traffic at Lani's beach due to turtle watching. Local sites such as Pounder's Restaurant, the Polynesian Cultural Center, Brigham Young University are just a 5-minute drive. 15 minutes to Sunset Beach and Banzai Pipeline, and 20 minutes to Waimea Bay. We recommend a trip to Waimea Falls Park or an afternoon visiting the charming town of Haleiwa where you can go horseback riding 5 minutes away at Gunstock Ranch, go on a glider-ride at Dillingham Airfield in Mokuleia, Haleiwa boutique shopping or sample the best shaved ice on the island.
We do not provide any infant bedding. You can rent cribs and highchairs from Paradise Baby Co.

There was a group of 7 adults. The house was big enough for our family. The yard was beautiful, and you cannot beat how close to the beach you are. We needed and utilized all of the bedrooms. When we first entered the house, it was hot and muggy. We turned on the window air conditioners to help cool off the rooms. We noticed after a few hours that one of the units did not work. We were able to find one of the staff and notified him. It did take a couple days to swap out, so we were not able to use the bedroom. One of our guests had to use the living room to sleep. It was still warm in the living as there is not air in the main part of the house. We called the number that was left for us a few times, and no one ever responded. Please be aware the house is stocked only with a "starter pack" of paper products. This information is not listed on the website. We left behind what we purchased. One of the refrigerator's broke and we lost our food. Thankfully, there is another refrigerator.

My group of 9 had a fantastic stay. We are 3 families that came together to celebrate my birthday. Due to the ocean breezes we never turned on the air conditioners as the windows and fans kept it the perfect temperature, day and night with no bugs. Yes the house has some things that are quirky or broken in small ways, but everything works. The kitchen doesn't have all those appliances and dishes as seen in the photo posted but there are enough to cook all your meals at the house. There are some beach toys, like buckets and shovels, a couple snorkels, masks, and fins in a bin on the patio. The best part of the house is it's yard and absolute perfect beach all the way into the water straight behind it. We played in the surf every afternoon and walked the low tide every morning. Fantastic stay. Highly recommend. We would stay again!

This was our first family vacation in Hawaii. Our first time taking our kids and grandson to Hawaii as well, so we decided on this home for our special trip. The backyard that lead into the beach was beautiful. The house was old and as expected from reading the reviews. The only thing that bothered me with this stay was the big roaches. Other than that we enjoyed ourselves. Thank you for letting us stay, our first time bringing our babies and grandson was a win!

Took a chance on this listing, but it was exactly as described: plantation style beach house with plenty of decent beds and practical needs met. We were 9 adults for the stay, but cousin, niece & nephew joined us for a wonderful day. The yard and beach were perfect. It was comfortable - fortunately I grew up in Hawaii and know that few actually live in resort conditions. My only disappointment is that it will be demolished this spring to rebuild. So few opportunities on the island to have such an experience and a shame that this area is gentrifying. New places are fine, don’t misunderstand, it’s just a beautifully large lot with an incredible view and privacy. I would return if booking dates return!

My family and I were fortunate enough to get a second stay at this property. Unfortunately, 3 hours into us being there, the water line in one of the bathrooms broke causing water to flood in the bathroom and into one of the rooms and soak the carpet. We were able to work around it and still enjoy ourselves with the beach and the legs yard but would have to continually change out the towels and the make shift water catcher. Understandable that the house is older and that it will be soon be replaced but a plumber couldn’t come out in a timely manner so that bathroom was unusable. The AC in one of the rooms was also not cooling and made for an uncomfortable sleep in that bedroom. I would say our stay was positive and no vacation goes off without at least one issue but I wish it hadn’t effected our group in such a way. -Mahalo nui

Property was just as described. Great layout and gathering place for multiple families. Three couples and 1 family of 5 (3 kids). The very best part of this property is the back yard and beach access. Very private. We had a marvelous time!

The view of the backyard and beach is so beautiful! The beach is just a few steps from the house. Our whole family didn’t want to leave. We had an amazing time.

This property for my ‘ohana and I was like going back to our little kid times camping. Only with a touch of plantation style living with the added ac in each room, WiFi, nice open kitchen which met our cooking needs. Enough bathrooms for everyone and the beach, kai, sand and back yard was wonderful! Mahālo Nui! I’d totally hana hou dis place.

You can't beat having a beach front property to watch the amazing sunrise every morning. The home was well stocked with towels, dishes, etc. However home is dated. The Wi-Fi did not work the first few days. On the 3rd day, Jimmy purchased a router and dropped it off, my husband ended up taking the time to set it up, trouble shoot it and get the Wi-Fi back up. The caretaker Stu greeted us the first day and offered to bring us more detergent for the washer and toilet papers. He never came back, even after we followed up several times. No big deal, we just ended up purchasing what we needed from a local grocery store. It would have been nice to at least let us know he wasn't coming back. Overall, we had a great experience on the island.

We had the most amazing time. This property was perfect for us. The beach was so private and the kids enjoyed boogie boarding. The house had everything you need, floaters, boards, towels. We didn’t mind that it was a bit dated, it felt more authentic Hawaii. Close to the food trucks, food land, longs drugs so anything you need is near by. Plenty of beaches to explore. Near Waimea Falls. Just central to all the Northshore favorites. We had the most amazing family memories I’m so sad I hear it’s going to be demolished. I do hope they keep the space and trees.

First and foremost, you cannot beat the location when wanting to avoid overly crowded areas and having a beach in your backyard. The description was very accurate in regards to nearby access to stores, food, and cultural experiences/activities/tourist attractions on the North Shore. The owner was very helpful and responsive through messages. However, there were some problems. The property would be more appropriate for traveling with children and not ideal for adults/couples (the layout isn't exactly described in the listing and made it difficult to assign rooms to adults). Outside of the main room, only 1 bedroom had a television. There were plenty of beach towels provided but very few face towels (had to purchase additional). The breeze from the ocean was very nice but did not alleviate the need for central air. There are window units in the bedrooms, however, one did not work upon our arrival. Thankfully it was addressed quickly the next day (awesome response and communication with owner and property caretaker!) Several of the windows did not operate or lock properly causing a security concern (no problems occurred during the stay). Additionally, one couple reported an ant nest under the twin bed nearest the laundry room and a ceiling fan with a missing blade making the fan unsafe and unusable in the same bedroom. The information book (though the restaurant/food options need to be updated) does state the property is "rustic" . Though this is not in the property description online, it is VERY much the case. The bedrooms (furniture and bedding) and living room furniture are very outdated. Even with these issues, everyone had an overall great experience. After all, it is Hawaii and the location makes up for a lot of the missteps.

Property is old, but has been well maintained. I can see why it will be torn down and rebuilt in the near future. The only negative experience I had was that several of the adjacent properties have very bright lights that wash the ocean and beach all night long. I believe this is technically illegal, by DLNR rules and regs.

This house was perfect for our family vacation. Plenty of room inside and out. Open the doors and let the breeze in! The view was awesome.. and we loved being oceanfront.. The caretaker was excellent, if you needed something, he took care of it right away! I am hopeful that the new property they are building next year will be comparable, as we would love to come back!

This home is right on the beach and the sound of the waves and view of the sunrises are unbelievable. But the home itself is dated and could use a facelift. Although it was a more "rustic" home, for those who are OK with a slightly older home and a few "critters" this is a fantastic location. Some additional investment would make this to-notch.

Everyone enjoyed this beautiful beachfront property. There was plenty of room for everyone and each room has A/C, though the rooms facing the ocean don't really need it on a breezy night. It is so much more fun to listen to the ocean, rather than the hum of an A/C unit. The yard is large and there was a volleyball net to use, which we set up for an impromptu tournament. The beach was calm during our stay (no surf) so we did paddling instead. Always a beautiful time when there is a beach in the back yard!

Great property for beach-going since you can walk out back door and beach is right there. We had four children 4-6 years and they loved being in sand and water. Adults enjoyed everything about house: location, roominess, having laundry facilities, large kitchen with two sinks etc.

This beach front home was so beautiful, pictures does not do justify the beauty of this property. Beach was amazingly breath taking, access was within a few steps. Ocean sounds was so peaceful at night. Sunrise was a blessing to witness. Easy check in process, and locals were awesome.
