We loved this on-the-water condo. The highlight of our trip was our lanai breakfast/coffee in the mornings and sunset lanai suppers. The condo is beautifully furnished in high end, solid furniture with comfortable beds, linens and seating throughout. The shower in the master bedroom bath is spacious with plenty of light and hot water and lots of water pressure. There is a tub/shower combo in the main bath. The kitchen is completely equipped. We never lacked for anything. Lots of air conditioning and ceiling fans. Wonderfully comfortable stay. Beach supplies in the hall closet and outdoor storage space, including beach chairs, beach towels and toys. If you are standing in the kitchen looking out the front windows, all you can see is the ocean, making it feel like you are on a boat. The windows surround the living space - ocean views all around. Close enough to the water to hear the waves and get sea spray! It was perfect. Thank you for sharing such a great space :>)

My husband, daughter and I came for Thanksgiving- something we had never done before. It was the best one ever. The complex, the beauty of the condo, the sounds of the waves gently putting you to sleep where wonderful. The proximity to everything was very convenient. We will be back, for sure.

Location was outstanding!! This property is great for the person looking to be explore the island or the person looking at staying on the property your entire vacation. The views of this unit are breathtaking. Sitting on the lanai listening to the oceans waves crash on the rocks, watching amazing sunsets and if you are as lucky as we were seeing dolphins swim by in the distance.

We love everything about Kanaloa at Kona…especially Suzanne’s condo! This was our 3rd visit to this area. Very quiet and relaxing stay at this time of year. The condo was tops and the staff really excel at keeping the resort beautiful. Wonderful KTA grocery store just up the hill. Great restaurants and sights just short drive away as well. We hope to return next year.

Awesome property, right on the water! The pool is just steps away. Even better, you can watch the sunset from your lanai while the water crashes on the rocks right below! This is NOT a rental property, but a home that has everything you would need for your vacation: snorkel gear, beach chairs, umbrella, ice chests, beach wagons, and even reusable bags. Full kitchen with everything you need to prepare meals and even the ability to store leftovers. Location is great: shopping center near by; near Keauhou Bay (check out Dolphin Discoveries for snorkeling fun); and Magic Sands Beach is close. We would definitely choose to stay here again.

This property is amazing! A beautiful 180 degree view of the ocean with waves crashing right below you. We loved mornings on the lanai and listening to the waves all night long. Beautiful sunsets!
The unit had everything we needed including snorkels, masks, fins, beach chairs and mats and a cooler. Kitchen was extremely well stocked and had all we needed, including spices, etc.
A/C worked great and was a welcome reprieve from the heat/humidity. One of the pools is close to the unit and the overall property was quiet and well-maintained.
We have stayed in numerous VRBO's over the years and we agreed this unit is our favorite! Thanks for sharing it, we can't wait to return.

This condo is beautiful and very well maintained. 3 pools, tennis and pickle ball courts, BBQ’s, and security. We saw dolphins and a whale from the lanai. We also visited the Konasalt factory, vanilla farm( my personal favorite) , volcano national park,Panalu’u bakery and so much more!

We delighted in our stay at this incredibly beautiful Condo. The views were amazing!!! We loved watching the waves and the sunset - either inside from nearly any window - or outside on the Lanai each night we were here!! The unit itself has everything you need to make delicious meals at home - including cookbooks detailing recipes from famous Hawaiian island dining spots, and chefs! The beds were very comfortable, and the central AC and ceiling fans were quiet and cool for the days and nights we needed it. On cooler days, we opened up the windows and welcomed in the gentle Hawaiian breeze bringing inside the delightful smells of the ocean and the native flowers that surround the property. Everything worked well. The water pressure for the sinks and the shower were plentiful. There is a designated covered parking spot for the unit close by, and
most all of the supplies you need for a wonderful day at the beach in the front closet and the closet on the Lanai. The condo was the perfect location for exploring the island and visiting our favorite snorkeling spots. Good communication with the owner made our vacation time here stress free. We stayed at the condo for 5 days. This was our fourth stay at this complex starting 25 years ago. This unit is about 10 ft from the crashing waves so quite spectacular. The unit is just as shown in the photos. It is very clean, well equipped for any activity, cooking, etc. the beds and linens are super comfy. Best of all, Carol was very easy to communicate with and answered all questions promptly.

This place is even better than the pics! It’s right by the seafront and has all the amenities. One of the pools is right next to this unit with a jacuzzi and a grill. The host keeps beach chairs, umbrellas and towels, as well as boogie boards that we brought to the beaches and had one of the best beach experiences of the 3 different islands we visited. The host was on top of everything and I can really tell she kept really good care of the unit. She was easy to reach and always responded promptly. The unit is only 15 minutes away from downtown Kona but has a shopping mall with a grocery store and ice cream
Shop less than 5 mins away. Great place overall and would stay here again for sure!

Let me start out with this was a great location and my wife and I were planning on staying next year for 2 months until we arrived. It all started when the air conditioning didn't work. We do come from northern Minnesota were the temp was -25 below before we left. We are early risers and outside all day. Owner had listed in book to contact maintenance along with her if we had a problem. Four messages over four days before maintenance company returned my call. Owner final returned my email. She blamed worker shortage and Covid. Looking at a review from a guest that stayed before us they said they had problem with air-condition also. Some of the owner response include things like I would like to use my maintenance company that usual fixing my AC not the property maintenance but I can't get a hold of him. She said if we wanted to stay elsewhere we could. She also emailed me and said help me understand your attachment to the AC. The temp in the condo would reach 83 in the afternoon which is hard to sleep. She also mad mention that we should stay somewhere else that would not be as warm next year. Don't forget about the cockroaches and people walking around upstairs making all sorts of noise all night. Owner must have all sorts of money as our didn't matter. She will never have to count our money again!

If you are looking for an oceanfront condo, this is it. The waves crash just below the lanai and are so loud that you have to close the sliding glass doors in order to listen to the TV. But who needs a TV when the ocean and sunset view is in every window. The unit is also very close to the swimming pool area, which also provides amazing ocean views. The condo was spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The furniture and beds were comfortable, and the unit came with helpful supplies like beach chairs and an umbrella. It's a short drive to a grocery store and to beach parks. Our only problem was that the air-conditioning was not working (our host informed us of this shortly before our arrival), but with the ceiling fans and cooperative weather, it was not a problem for us. The condo furnishings and decor could stand some updating, as compared with other condos where we have stayed, but the pictures in the listing were accurate, the furniture was in good shape, and we enjoyed our stay.

The unit was perfect for location and atmosphere. The grounds were wonderful. Nice to have specific parking spot near by. Plenty of room for just two people. The office space was very useful. The lanai was incredible with surf practically up to the building. The only problem we encountered was that the AC seemed to inadequate. Given that this was January, we could never get the temperature below 75 which made it a bit difficult to sleep at night. The overhead fans and portable helped. The mattress in the back bedroom seemed a bit soft to our liking. Some of the kitchen cabinets need minor repairs. We did encounter some ants, but the unit had ant spray that solved the problem.

There were so many rental options on the Big Island, and we’re so very happy we found Carol’s listing. Very fair price for such a wonderful 21 day vacation. The sound of the surf lulled us to sleep each night. (I’ll probably continue to ‘hear’ the surf when we return home.). The condo property was extremely devoid of human noise which made our time so relaxing.
Kitchen fabulously supplied with everything one may need, and grocery store is very close by—really helped us hold our costs down. Condo location put us in easy reach for all the destinations we wanted to visit.
Each evening we were able to watch the boats arrive about 400 yards south bringing people to the nightly manta ray dives.
We wouldn’t consider any other place to stay on the Big Island!

Loved sitting on the lanai overlooking the ocean and heading the water hitting the rocks. Condo was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed during our week’s stay. When we come to Hawaii we like to be as close to the ocean as possible. This location is perfect! There are views of the ocean from every window and the sound of the crashing waves is mesmerizing. The unit is just steps away from the ocean pool/hot tub but not so close that privacy is an issue. The condo has literally everything one could possibly need for beach trips. We love to cook and watch the sunset when on vacation. The kitchen had everything we needed, the appliances are very nice and there is lots of cookware. Many sunsets were viewed! The location of Kanaloa is walking distance or a couple minutes by car to the grocery and drug store. It is a short walk to the Keauhou Bay where there are history plaques and lush gardens. I would highly recommend Carol's condo.

I always believed that when things go wrong is when you really learn about a person. In this case, I learned what a wonderful property manager Carol is. My wife and I were meeting my sister and her husband for a three-night stay. Unfortunately, when they arrived before us the condo had not been cleaned after the previous guests had left. My sister immediately called me as we were taxing on our flight from Kauai to Kona. I sent a quick text to Carol to explain and we took off. By the time we landed Carol had made arrangements with the cleaners to be there the next day (it was 6:00 at night). It was discovered there was a simple mistake in scheduling. Carol immediately explained the situation She offered to put us up in a hotel or giving a credit for a free night. Easy decision. We did some laundry while drinking some Mai Tais that night while enjoying the great view and sat by the pool when the very nice cleaning crew arrived the next day. Carol handled the situation quickly and graciously. We all had a great time at her beautiful condo. We would definitely go back.

The lanai and outside dining table are primo - overlooking the rocks and the crashing surf below, you can’t beat the view. The condo is well equipped although we didn’t find the beach towels, beach chairs and bags til we were almost ready to leave (they’re in the front closet but not mentioned in the Welcome Book). We did enjoy the boogie boards in the outside closet. It’s a great location and would definitely recommend. One small thing, we look not only for places that are on the beach but bedrooms that have a great view of the water. The picture of the master shows a great ocean view but it’s taken from a corner of the room near the bathroom and the bedroom window actually looks directly at the front entry of the neighbors condo so in order to have privacy you have to keep the blinds drawn or people walking down the sidewalk can see into the bedroom. Not a big deal and still 5 star but thought I’d mention it for those that look forward to waking up in the morning to the water outside.

It’s a little bit out of town (30 minutes from the airport and about 15min from the strip). But perfectly on the water front. Has your own balcony that is only feet away from the waves crashing on the rocky beach. The condo was very well equipped with beach towels and beach stuff. Also the kitchen was very well equip with pots and pans ect. Beds were comfortable and as I said perfect for 2 couple to share the unit. Both bathrooms have double vanities

I would like to give this condo 4.5 starts, but the web site only allows full stars. As the photos show, this condo is right on the water. The lanai is definitely the best part, with its sunset view. It was very private, except when there were (small) wedding ceremonies happening right outside. That's the price you pay for staying in the unit with one of the best views.
The condo is reasonably clean and stocked. Since you're right on the water, the salt water coming in the open windows has left some residue on the carpet and in the kitchen. It looks like the kitchen (and master bath) was renovated relatively recently, with the minor (superficial) salt water damage the only visible issue. Everything was operational, though, and the kitchen contents were nicer than most rentals.
It is obvious that the owner has spent a great deal of effort decorating the condo, as it is full of ocean-themed art and elaborate furnishings for a rental. The master bath has a very large shower, with a higher end shower head. There is a tub in the other bathroom (that had some trouble draining, but was workable). The master bed was a bit on the soft end for my taste, but not a big deal.
The rental says no kids, but the owner let us stay with our 7 and 9 year old girls. I understand why she prefers no kids, as the furnishings aren't especially kid-friendly (glass-top tables, for instance). Our kids didn't have any issues, though.
There is a small pool right by the ocean, close by (not close enough to hear pool visitors). The unit has a closet full of beach gear that we didn't use, but it was nice to have available. If you're not familiar with the Big Island, the nearby ocean isn't a place you'd want to have your kids playing (it's not a beach), so it was nice to have a place they could swim and still admire the ocean view.
Another favorite part of this unit is the full size washer and dryer. The small dryers can take forever, and that was not a problem here. Nobody wants to spend their vacation doing laundry!
The complex is close to a reasonable grocery store, and a short drive to a beach with snorkeling. Otherwise, you're not that close to the big resort areas. It was our first trip to the Big Island, so we weren't sure we'd like the overall location, but it turned out to be great. We had amenities nearby, but avoided most of the crowds.
Overall, this condo was nicer than most of the rentals we've stayed in, and a very comfortable place to stay.

My wife and I and another couple stayed at the condo for 10 days. This condo exceeded our expectations in many ways . It's location is superb, perched on the lava rock beach with the surf providing the background music.It has all the modern amenities a home would have,very tastefully decorated and spacious. The lanai is an excellent place to eat meals or just have a drink and relax. We utilized the tennis courts and pools on site and the communal barbeques which are well kept and cleaned every day.I would highly recommend this condo and our travelling friends would agree.The owner is very helpful and responsive and the arrangements were flawless.

Our experience at this condo was wonderful. It is decorated beautifully with koa wood furniture. The owner is an artist and has a wonderful talent. Some of her pictures are in the condo. The condo is right by the water. You can sit inside and have a 160 degree view of the ocean. It is almost like being on an ocean cruise ( and you can't get seasick). The beds were soft and wonderful . Like sleeping on a cloud. the kitvchen was one of the best we have ever rented. It was equipped with everything a person would want. I would give this place a rating of 10+. The listing description was very accurate.

Wow what a beautiful location! The Kanaloa complex was so well maintained.As soon as we walked into the condo we were thrilled, as it truly was stunning! All the past reviews are right on! The rooms were all beautiful,colorful,and pleasing. The kichen is very well stocked, and has a coffee grinder! Spent most of the time on the large lanai, very comfy chairs! Both king beds were very comfy, but on the softer side.The condo is decorated with a variety of art,making everyroom so interesting.You will truly enjoy this condo and Kona, this is paradise! We ate at the "Coffee Shack"and "Jackie Reys" both would highly recommend.If you go to the market on saturday morning, go early as the fish will be gone!!!Enjoy your stay!

My wife and I spent two weeks in this condo. The location is ideal if you want an unobstructed view of the Pacific Ocean and sound of the surf. There are beautiful views from the kitchen, dining area, front room and the lanai. This is truly an ocean front experience. The bathrooms and bedrooms are very nice; there is an excellent washer and dryer; and the condo is outfitted with about everything you could need. The owner was easy to work with and very responsive. We are recommending this condo to our friends. The Kanaloa condo complex is located at the end of a quiet residential street. It is close to a shopping center, two golf courses and very nice snorkeling beaches. It is well maintained in a very nice "laid-back" setting.

Beautiful condo, well decorated and supplied, lovely artwork and terrific view. Crashing waves, year around spectular sunsets (and moonsets) and plenty of ocean activities to watch.

This was our 2nd stay in Kanaloa 2302. We have stayed at the Kanaloa complex several times over the past 10 years, and we are always impressed with the upkeep of the complex. With 3 pools at the complex, we often have a pool to ourselves. The barbeque grills are well maintained and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is good for exploring the island.
2302 is our favorite unit. I always check availability at this unit before booking another unit. The kitchen is well stocked, the king beds are super comfy, and the furniture throughout the unit is comfortable. The décor is beautiful. It’s obvious that this is a home and not just a rental unit. The unit is direct oceanfront and the view does not get any better than this! We watched dolphins and manta rays from the lanai. With the way the units are configured, it’s very private. I have never heard noise from the adjacent units. The unit accommodated two couples very well, with plenty of space and privacy. I can’t wait to go back! Also, the owner is very responsive.

We couldn't ask for a better place to spend our vacation. This condo is well appointed, beautifully decorated and features a very nice, open floor plan. The lanai and all windows look out onto the ocean. to the rocky shoreline below. The sound of the surf lulled us to sleep every night (we turned the AC off and kept the windows open). This is the perfect place to spend your time on the big island!
The decor, art and beautiful furniture made us feel lucky to stay there. The kitchen is well supplied with all the cooks tools one would need.
The unit is sited extremely well, very private. The Konaloa complex is beautifully landscaped and well maintained. Three pools. Although the complex is private, located at the end of a nice residential street, it is only minutes away from a nice shopping center with a supermarket, shops and several restaurants. In addition, the shopping center boasts a great farmer's market on Saturdays. Be sure to check it out. The main drag in Kona is only a few minutes away. Loved the location.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and I would highly recommend this roomy, beautiful unit.
