My husband and I greatly enjoyed our Vrbo! It's a cozy condo and the views are to die for! It was great to meet John - he was very kind and welcoming. We were grateful to be near an area to see (and swim with) turtles. It truly made for memories of a lifetime!

The pictures on the listing does this condo no justice, for a second my sister and I thought we were in the wrong place. Amazingly clean, stocked with every possible thing you may need while on your stay. Booking was easy and prompt. John checked in on us by text once at our arrival and responded to my text very promptly as well. Views are amazing, turtles and sunsets were to die for. I will return and recommend John to friends and family.

We had a great time. The resort is small but right at the ocean. There were so many turtles and snorkeling right off the shore was great. Staff were very friendly. Very quiet location. It was nice to have air conditioning in the bedroom to sleep. Very clean condo. It was a great place. We would definitely stay here again.

The place was truly amazing. It was incredible to see the turtles swimming up to you as you stood by the rocks. Additionally, the place appeared much more modern and well-maintained compared to the pictures John had provided. Not only that, but John also thoughtfully provided snorkels, floaties, sunscreen, shampoo, and other amenities.
We would definitely go back.

We love staying at the kuleana resort, and john’s condo is the best unit we’ve stayed in there. The condo exceeded expectations in cleanliness, it was spotless and this as the first time I’ve been to Maui and didn’t see a single bug. The view from the patio is gorgeous, and it is an end unit so you don’t have people walking by the unit looking in your windows. The location of the kuleana is unbeatable, it’s in the middle of a protected turtle sanctuary and there are two small beaches accessible from the resort. The resort is very quiet and many of the other guests stay for weeks if not months, so this wouldn’t be a good spot to stay if you’re trying to party or come with a large group.

Had an amazing stay here! John was super fast to reply to any questions we had and even provided a very detailed list of food and activity recommendations. The space overall was very clean and and well kept. The location was wonderful it was quiet, safe and the staff onsite was also very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed being away from the large resorts, but still only being like 10/15 minutes away from main shopping. There was plenty of food options as well within a few minute drive. We loved spending the mornings enjoying breakfast on the patio listing to the birds and the waves, and walking down to the beach for sunset. We also saw plenty of turtles, which was awesome! We really loved this space and would 100% recommend it to others visiting the island. We hope to be able to visit here again soon!

We loved our time here at this property! From this cozy room on the end of the building, we could see the ocean through the beautiful flowers and lush greenery. It was a 60 second walk to be right by the shoreline. We saw whales, lizards, and turtles! Snorkeling is great from this area but the beachfront is rocky so it takes some finesse getting into the water. The condo itself was comfortable and accommodating. John was quick to respond and helpful in answering any questions we had. We look forward to coming back one day!

The beach is accessible directly from the property which makes the community very special. Overall we had a very nice time staying at this property. If there is a possibility of upgrading the A/C, that would make the property perfect for vacation.

Great little place for a couple. Nice location with easy access (by car, bike or bus) to pretty much everything I think you might want. End unit, so it had a bit of a secluded feel and a great little lanai. If you intend to spend most of your time outside, I bet this will be ideal for you as it was for us.

We stayed for 11 nights with two young children and had a wonderful time. The condo itself needs some updating but we were hardly in it. The only thing I would wish for would be a bigger patio area. The condo location is fabulous and the landscaping is incredible. We were able to see a turtle come up and take a nap on the rocky beach and most of the time we had the huge pool all to ourselves.

The cleanest pool ever. If you do have kids there are a few restrictions at the pool. No floaties or throwing balls.

The condo was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The host was available if we needed anything (we didn’t). The grounds are beautiful and much nicer than many other similar condos in the area - beautiful landscaping, clean pool etc. The private beach and snorkeling areas put this property way over the top. We’ll definitely return to this property next time we are in Maui!

My husband and I enjoyed staying at John's property. It was definitely clean and the place was equipped with everything you need. Bed was comfortable, and we loved the patio. The private beach for the condo community was awesome and we loved snorkeling with the beach gear provided. We did have to get some TP for the place, but that was fine! John's place was the perfect paradise for the week! Would recommend to friends looking to stay in Maui in the future.

We enjoyed our vacation on Maui and our condo was a comfortable home base during our ten nights stay. First, checking in was so easy. John gave us all the info we needed to get into the condo. We also liked the location and convenience of the condo. We could park right outside the door and haul our luggage, groceries, etc. easily from the car to the condo. Very few steps to walk up/down. We also loved the ground floor because we could walk in and out of the front or the back directly onto the resort grounds. We easily walked into town for lunch and shopping, but usually cooked our dinners on the community BBQ's. There was good information provided about things to do and places to eat (we loved Makaluapuna Point, the Fish Market and Dole Whip anywhere we could get it). There was no beach because of the erosion, but still good snorkeling once you got out a little ways. There are so many other places to drive to for snokeling and hanging out on the beach so we enjoyed our adventures outside of the resort in search of better beaches and snorkeling. Two suggestions-a map with marked locations of all the places listed on your "tourist guide" would make it easier to get a quick glance as to where things are located, and maybe a guest book (probably old school, but I still enjoy reading about people's visits). We also loved the large beach towels provided along with a tote filled with sets of snorkel gear that even fit my husband (shoe size 13). Now , without sounding nit-picky, there are some things that could be improved that need to be mentioned. The pictures on the website need to be updated. There are now granite countertops in the kitchen (and backsplash) and bathroom vanity and stainless steel appliances. Those are great, but the decor seemed very dark and a bit like a two-star hotel (just our opinion). Not very bright or tropical. Our bedding was just a drab, solid color bedspread; not the tropical comforter as pictured. We did not spend a lot of time in the condo except to sleep and have our morning coffee so the decor was not too important to us, but it may be to future guests. Lastly, we think the condo needs a good deep cleaning. The sliding glass doors to the shower had a lot of "funk" at the bottom of them and the floors throughout need attention. The "clean filter" light on the a/c unit was on, we cleaned it and had no problems with it. These things didn't adversely affected our stay, however, and we would happily stay there again.

This was our first time to rent a condo and I feel so thankful to have rented from John. He was helpful from the start and throughout our stay. The property was just what our family of 4 needed! The grounds are gorgeous and so amazing to see both sunrise and sunset. We unfortunately were unable to snorkel here as the waves were too rough, but we were easily able to travel to nearby beaches with rental car. Location to laundry was also really helpful as we prepared to head home. We have already recommended the property and would visit again! Thank you John!

We had a great time on our trip to Maui. I can’t say enough good things about this condo. The complex is small and quiet. Great pool to relax at in the afternoons. We watched turtles and whales from the shore everyday. There was no sand on the beach while we were there (due to seasonal weather) but this was not an issue at all. There is a nice grassy lawn to lounge at by the edge of the water and if you wanted to snorkel there is a ladder into the water which is available. So many good restaurants and amazing beaches close by. Loved our stay!

My husband and I visited Maui for our anniversary and stayed at the Kahana rental for 8 nights. Although it is not close to activities like Haleakala National Park or the Road to Hana, it is definitely located on the part of the island we enjoyed being the most. There are plenty of places to shop and lots of restaurants nearby. The property is quiet and offers a nice view of the ocean. We snorkeled from the beach at the property, and swam with several sea turtles and countless colorful fish. It was one of our favorite places to snorkel on the island. No need to pay lots of money to go out on a boat to Molokini when there are plenty of turtles, and lots of fish and coral to see right out the back door! The rental is nicely maintained and has all of the essentials. We appreciate the care and consideration John and Val have for their guests. We messaged John a few times and he was always very quick to respond. Thanks for the fun visit!

Great location close to everything, and property was well sanitized and cleaned before our arrival. John has been very communicative throughout, and responded very fast. Kitchen has dishwasher, soap cleaners, ceramic bowls/plates, and well functioning induction stovetop. Property comes with access to private beach and a yard with beach view and grill. Our experience was amazing. John and Val were very friendly and receptive. We did not have any complaints. The location was perfect... quiet, safe, family friendly, truly a hidden gem. Unit has a full kitchen and stocked with everything you will need. We stocked the place with groceries and cooked at the grills on property every day. It was perfect for watching the sunset, whale watch, and enjoy a glass of wine. We used the snorkel ladder, location is perfect for snorkeling!!! Literally swam with the turtles. Also got to see a Hawaiian Monk Seal visit at the beach! Late in whale season but we saw them breach from the Resort. So cool. Bring your binoculars. Enjoyed the sunset every single night with turtles right next to us on the beach. We traveled with our 7 year old so we also enjoyed the pool and laundry use. This was our first time in Maui and if we come back, we will be calling John and Val. Thanks for renting to us.

Overall, the complex was very nice and beautiful gardens, a nice pool and BBQs overlooking the ocean. The apartment itself was good too. John and Val were very nice and communicative as owners. However, we were very disappointed by the fact that there wasn’t a swimmable beach with sand. It is a very rocky shoreline, large volcanic rocks with no sand to sit on. We were hoping for a beach to hang out on. The listing does say that the beach is subject to tidal erosion, but the current state seems well beyond that. If a beach isn’t important to you, this place is great. If a nice beach is important, look elsewhere.

We had an amazing stay at this condo. I had never stayed at any of the Kuleana resort condos before, but this was the perfect place to relax. We enjoyed the private beach, and the view of the garden and ocean is beautiful. The snorkeling area was the best I've found in a long time. The owner was also responsive and helpful. We look forward to coming back the next chance we get!
