FOR THE SAFETY AND COMFORT OF YOU AND YOUR NEIGHBORS:

Aloha and Welcome to Hale Mana and the Beautiful Garden Island of KAUA'I
1. Please Be Good Neighbors
Keep noise to a minimum, especially before 8:00 am and after 9:00 pm. Turn off outdoor lights at night whenever possible. We enjoy our dark nights when the stars are bright and beautiful. Of equal importance, our wildlife can become disoriented at night if lights are too bright. County rules allow only 3 vehicles on the property. Please be sure you park only on property; we have plenty of space- parking and driving on the lawn is ok. If you have any questions about our neighbors or how to best be considerate of them, please call Thomas.
2. Beach Safety
Be mindful of the surf. Our shorelines face thousands of miles of open ocean. Northern winter storms and southern summer storms can bring us extremely dangerous surf conditions. NEVER turn your back on the ocean – summer or winter. Rogue waves can appear even in calm surf conditions. There are lifeguards at Haena Beach Park, Hanalei Pavilion, Lydgate, Poipu Beach Park, Salt Pond and Kekaha. For your family’s safety, we advise that you check with lifeguards before going into the ocean.
3. 911
In case of fire or medical emergency, call 9-1-1. The address and phone number of your house is posted inside the front door. For non-emergency assistance, please call Police Dispatch Wilcox Hospital in Lihue. The closest emergency treatment center is Mahelona Hospital up the hill on your right as you enter Kapa’a. Look for the hospital sign.
4. Weather
The island does experience flash flooding during periods of heavy rain. If you must drive in this kind of weather, drive with extreme caution. Severe weather could result in the temporary closing of the main road out of Hanalei. For the most up to the minute Traffic and Weather information, please call. While at the house, you are safely on high ground.
5. Disaster Emergencies
On the first business day of each month at 11:45 am, our Civil Defense sirens are tested. However, if you hear these sirens at any other time, please tune to AM radio station KQNG (“KONG”) at AM 570 for real-time reports and instructions. Also, the front of the Kaua’i phone book has emergency, disaster, evacuation and shelter information. Hurricane emergency supplies have been provided and are located in the garage.
6. Emergency Escape Route
In case of fire, the safest escape route from each downstairs bedroom is through the sliding glass door which leads directly outside. Upstairs bedrooms should exit the home by way of the main stairs then out the front or back door. As soon as safely possible, please call 911.
7. Security
Although theft in our neighborhood is uncommon, please be cautious with your personal belongings. It is always best to lock up your valuables. Lock the doors and windows when you leave the property.
8. Beach Access
The beach below the property can be accessed using the public trail which is located just east of the home. Please see the map in the house information binder and respect the signs around the property.
9. Farming Activity
Please be aware that you are staying on a small working farm which is surrounded by other working farms. With this farm activity comes potential noise, fugitive dust, farm equipment on roads and other environmental impacts.
10. Island Driving Etiquette
Please honor the posted speed limits. Frequently check your rear view mirror. If more than 4 or 5 cars are stacking up behind you, pull completely off to the side of the road and let them pass. This can also help you when driving at night as our dark roads can be confusing. If you are lost, remember that this is a small island and you will find your way soon. Keep driving until you find a safe place to pull over and turn around. Never make a U-turn on the highway. When navigating the one-lane bridges, cross the bridges in groups of 5 or 6 cars at a time. A simple rule of thumb: Drain the lane; if you arrive late – wait. When parking at the beaches, park, or sight-seeing locations be sure to park fully off the street, in assigned or clearly marked parking spaces. If you want to stop to enjoy the scenery, please pull completely off to the side of the road. We hope you will enjoy your stay on our magical island!
11. Tsunami Zone
Despite being on a bluff hundreds of feet above sea level, the property's proximity to the ocean puts it in the tsunami zone. An evacuation route map and information are mounted on the wall by the front door as well as in the house binder.

Our family vacation at Hale Mana was nothing short of spectacular. The gorgeous home was so comfortable and very well equipped. The private, quiet property with absolutely stunning views was like receiving an amazing gift each day we were there. We had the good fortune of observing the albatrosses living on the property and the dark sky at night allowed us to see the vast amount of stars. Such wonderful memories were made at Hale Mana and was a time spent with family that will always be cherished.

We had our daughters wedding at Hale Mana March 17th and it is absolutely the perfect spot for a wedding. The view of the ocean takes your breath away. We had flash flood warnings the day before and the day of the wedding and Thomas was willing to work with us in every way to assure the wedding took place and help us with a back up rain plan. The skys ended up clearing slightly around 2:00pm, the wedding was scheduled for 4:00pm. The rain miraculously stopped and they were able to get married on the beautiful deck which was my daughters dream!!! Photographs were amazing!!!! The house is beautiful and we had 10 people staying there and there was plenty of room for us all! Do not hesitate for a minute to reserve this beautiful property, you will not be disapointed!

We stayed at this estate with both our families (12 total guests) and had a small wedding ceremony and reception for 30 guests. We could not have asked for a more perfect venue! For the stay: the property is fully furnished with everything you could possibly need for a large group. The hot tub and infinity pool was amazing with a breathtaking view. There are many different areas for a large group to spread out, but also large dining areas to get together for a family meal. There is beach access down a steep set of stairs and it feels like your own private beach! Thomas, the property manager, was a terrific host--he was extremely responsive to questions and was immediately available by text, call or in person for anything we needed. For the wedding: Thomas gave us great tips and suggestions throughout our planning process. When we arrived, he immediately put us at ease and even came by to supervise deliveries and help set up for our wedding. The large back porch is perfect for a ceremony and we had a tent set up in the grassy yard for the reception. Thanks to Thomas and Hale Mana, our wedding even surpassed our own expectations! Our family and friends are already talking about returning for an anniversary trip!

We rented this home to celebrate our 50 years of marriage with our family of 10 over Christmas and New Years. We had an absolutely wonderful time. The house is beautiful, spacious and private. The view of the ocean is spectacular. We saw whales most days. It was fun watching the albatross do their mating dance. We had a couple of evenings when the sky was clear that the stars where so bright, like we have never seen before. The trip down to the beach was an adventure. The climb back up was a challenge. Some of the younger generation made several trips. We created some wonderful family memories. A big thank you to the owners for allowing us to visit this paradise. Thomas, the property manager was very helpful with questions before our arrival. He respected our privacy but was available when needed.

Wow! This house is amazing. It is right next to the beach and has a large pool and hot tub for everyone to enjoy. The house is kept in great condition and well-stocked with appliances for any family or friend gatherings. We had a small wedding here and found that Thomas, the property manager was extremely helpful. He was always available by email for questions and very helpful in setting up the house for the wedding! We had friends stay with us in the house which let us spend time with them during the week of the wedding. Comparing this property with other similar ones, the price was very reasonable and Thomas was flexible with our budget. While the house is gorgeous, Thomas is the true asset to this property as he is friendly, approachable, and extremely helpful. Our wedding day was perfect thanks to him!

We have been blessed to see some of the most beautiful parts of the world. To say that Kauai and most especially, Hale Mana, is the best would be an understatement. Your home is a taste of heaven on earth. Thank you for allowing us to experience paradise with our family. We made priceless memories and will be forever grateful. We hope to return to Hawaii someday but only if it is to Kauai and Hale Mana. Once we have experienced the best, nothing else will do!! Many thanks for an unforgettable week!! We arrived at this luxurious property and were awe struck. The property is gorgeous-from the mature trees to all of the lush landscape. We were even lucky enough to vacation with 4 nests of albatros chicks. It was a daily thing for us to watch these majestic birds. The property is breathtaking, and your perfect picture of what you want vacation to be. A quick walk down the road in the morning led us to an honor system fruit stand...huge avocados! It is isolated and very quiet and secure (gated property). We had four couples and were each able to have our own suites (there was room for 2 more couples). We had privacy, but yet could be together for meals and conversation if we chose to. The home had more than all of the amenities we needed for our stay. We cooked most days on vacation, which was perfect. There was a grocery store just down the road so it made it easy for us. The kitchen had everything you would ever need to prepare a meal either a quick meal, or a sit down dinner. The decor in the suites were beach themed and set the perfect mood for vacation. We absolutely LOVED the gorgeous crystals that were placed in the home. The large amethyst stones in the dining room were stunning! The artwork throughout was also very "beach/vacation" themed. So fun! During the day it was fun to sit out on the meticulously landscaped backyard and watch the sunrise. The hot tub and unbelievable infinity pool were added benefits. THE INFINITY POOL CONNECTED TO THE HOT TUB IS AMAZING! The pool was a little cool (ocean side of the house) but so refreshing. I don't know where else you could would want to have a glass of wine or a beer on the edge of the pool and look out at the majestic Pacific and watch whales ( tons while we were there). There is even a telescope and several sets of binoculars that we never needed. If you are looking to walk to the beach, it is do-able from this property as well. There is a well maintained walkway from the house that leads you right to the beach. (private beach but it IS a hike down the hill but SOOO worth it!) We had a couple afternoons at the beach and it was perfect! If you are looking to eat out and shop, it is a hop skip and jump away from this property, which was nice. We also took a great helicopter tour that was only about 10 minutes away from here. If I had one complaint, it would be that we were not here long enough. We look forward to returning to this property the next time we visit Kauaii.

My family traveled from the mainland and New Zealand to celebrate my 70th birthday at Hale Mana, Kauai. The house is beautiful and perfect for warm, fun and relaxing family times. The outdoor facilities are breathtaking. We loved the pool spa, its view in particular. We had so much fun at Hale Mana, we only took a few day activities away from the house! Thank you to all for making our stay perfect!

Our family of 10 have voted Mana Hale Kauai the perfect VRBO. We all enjoyed every aspect of this property. The location, property and management team is the most professional I have experienced in our many years of using VRBO. We have rented all over the world and deem this property number one.

My new family and myself had an amazing experience at Hale Mana we were all so lucky to go to this beautiful place for a family vacation and even threw a wedding, Birthday and anniversary in the mix everything was perfect even the weather, we all had so much fun hated to come home. This was my first marriage and Thomas made it so extremly easy he took care of everything and we could not have asked for a more wonderful photographer Lisa and her assitant whom also took family pictures after the wedding at this amazing house so much to do there one does not even have to leave the house. Again Thank you everyone for such a memorable fun 9 days. Best , Lauren and Scott M.

My entire immediate family of 12 stayed at the Hale Mana for the Christmas holiday. The house is amazing and the surrounding scenery matches the house. Thomas and his team were extremely accommodating and even helped find us a great chef to cook Christmas Day dinner for us. The house is perfect for large families. You can stay indoors and enjoy the view or go outside and enjoy the amazing views, go to the beach which is just done a path, or chill out in the pool. House is in great shape and everything you need is there. I've stayed in/rented villas in other resort places such as Koi Samui and Bali and the Hale Mana ranks up there as one of my best experiences.

We were at Hale Mana for an extended family (my family of four, both sets of parents, and our siblings and their families) vacation. It was perfect for such a large group. There was enough space that you never felt like you were on top of one another. The property is spectacular. Lots of grass for the kids to run around in, wonderful fruit trees and vines, amazing views. Thomas is a great host. He had a family emergency, but made sure to check in with us. He gave great recommendations for pretty much whatever we needed from a photographer to the best place to find lilikoi. The property is not cheap, but it is as advertised and great place to go to relax. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and if we go back for a large family vacation again, it will be tops on our list.

We had 4 couples stay at Hale Mana and it was perfect! We had stayed there a couple of years ago, but the additions of the infinity pool and hot tub since we were there were top notch. The house is beautifully decorated and immaculate and each bedroom is like a master bedroom! It's a short drive to Hanalei where we had a fantastic dinner at The Dolphin. We took 2 beautiful hikes that were stunning. A day of sailing on Captain Andy's was as spectacular as we remembered. We also ate in a couple of nights and had everything we needed to do so (except for the groceries). I would highly recommend this property to anyone. WE LOVE IT!

We want to let you know what a fantastic time we had at your house last week! We had the time of our lives in your beautiful home and on that incredible island. Your house is breathtaking! We really enjoyed the pool and patio areas the most, as those views are fabulous. We had a blast just hanging in the kitchen and family room, and both served as the perfect spot to enjoy each other's company, whip up some drinks, and listen to music (along with a little dancing). We had been to Kauai one other time, and stayed at a resort on the other side of the island. Staying at your home was the best because we loved the non-commercial, secluded, private environment. We did two hikes, which were a total blast. We also did the helicopter tour, Captain Andy's boat cruise, ate out, did some scenic training runs, and many other activities. Thanks again for giving us the opportunity to enjoy your place, and I hope we can return there again one day!

Pictures and words simply cannot do this property justice. You must see in person! We had the amazing opportunity to spend 5 nights at this stunning home on the north shore of Kauai. The pool, hot tub, patio and deck are simply incredible. With perfect unobstructed views of the ocean, we enjoyed seeing the whales frolic and gorgeous sunrises. Every amenity in the home is great. From the generously sized bedrooms and bathrooms, to the spacious living room, family room, oversized well-stocked kitchen, dining rooms and all the peaceful gathering areas, decks and patios. We enjoyed the trail down to the beach, with approximately 271 steps. We searched for and found some pretty sea glass. The pool and hot tub light up at night and with the changing light colors look like a disco ball, so fun! The outdoor speakers allow you to play your music outdoors also, but the sound of the crashing waves are wonderful enough. The steam room down at the spa center was enjoyable and yoga mats are provided if you wish to use them. There are also free weights available to use. We found there to be ample chairs and loungers available everywhere and the mats provided to use on the beach work out really well. The location of Hale Mana is easy to get in and out of, easy to find and within a good distance from many great restaurants and shopping area. This property is well maintained and the owners obviously go above and beyond to make this a vacation spot that no one will ever forget. Truly this has been a dream trip, at a dream location and we would absolutely love to return. If you are looking for a luxurious place, look no further.

Just recently returned home from my two weeks in paradise at Hale Mana. I wish I could write a review that paints a clear picture of my experience, but I do not know the words that could describe it. If there is a more beautiful property than Hale Mana in this world I have not seen it. To call the ocean views "huge" is an understatement. While on the property you can look out and feel as if you are on a private island, all to yourself, floating around the Pacific. On that same note..... THE POOL!!! Wow. An absolute marvel of engineering. Infinity edges that make you feel like you are swimming in the ocean. If you built that pool anywhere else in the world it would not be as perfect as it is at Hale Mana... My advice: Hop off the plane, load up on groceries, turn off your cell phone. YOU WILL NEVER WANT TO LEAVE!

Our family group of 12 recently spent a spectacular week at the Hale Mana Estate in Kauai. We researched large homes in Kauai for several weeks before deciding on Hale Mana, and our homework was well rewarded. The location on the North Shore is perfect, and we always had a feeling of privacy and seclusion. The beach below, easy to reach down the steps, is beautiful and isolated. The town of Kilauea is very close, easily our favorite town Kauai. The house is on an albatross nesting ground, and we watched in wonder all week as a baby albatross tested its wings. The house itself is enormous and easily accommodated our group. Of particular note was the chef's kitchen and unbelievable master suite. Our property manager Thomas took good care of us all week, and responded immediately to our special requests. He set up a private massage session for my wife and daughter down at the spa. He also arranged for a private chef to cook for the group one night, and this is an experience I would highly recommend. When we return to Kauai, we will do one thing differently--we will spend more time at the house. Thomas, thanks for sending us the video of the albatross finally taking flight.

This has been an amazing place to vacation. We have enjoyed the island, and have enjoyed just hanging out and relaxing at this beautiful home. We have seen a countless number of whales splashing about, how amazing! We also had a high surf day and were able to sit and watch surfers catch waves by paddle and watercraft (not something you get to see every day). We found a number of treasures on the beach, and enjoyed the baby albatross we names "Albi". It was very nice for each of us to have our own bathrooms and suite to retreat to, while always being able to enjoy the spectacular view. Thank you for the use of this beautiful property. -The Wilkinson Family
