This rental had everything we needed and then some! It was clean, had all the basics, secure, comfortable beds and parking is included! Close enough to the beaches and Kalakaua, but far enough away to avoid the traffic of Kalakaua so you can get in and out of Waikiki with ease. But the best part was that view! It was stunning!And the team at Captain Cook were all amazing! Attentive, quick to respond and most importantly friendly!We highly recommend this property and hope to stay here again in the future!

This condo suited our needs really well (small family). It is located 3 blocks from Waikiki beach but not in most touristed part; views of ocean and Diamond Head are indeed awesome; the small kitchen with a spare but tidy set of kitchen supplies was appreciated for breakfast on the lanai. Checkin process and communication with property manager were straightforward, and the free parking in the garage was great. Beds were comfortable. The apartment is on the worn side (walls need fresh paint, worn couch, etc) and the building itself is not fancy, but this was a very adequate accommodation and met our needs perfectly.

Aloha. The vacation rental was exactly as described. The building itself and hallways need a little upgrade as it looks quite old. But, once inside the apartment, everything is very clean. Fantastic view all around. Great location, easy short walk to the Waikiki beach, shops, restaurants and everything you need. Fantastic view all around. It is equipped with basics and there is a little ABC grocery store very close by where you can go get basic grocery. Would definitely go back.

After my last captain cook rental I ended up getting spam for real estate from your company. This was a put off for me. Several ABnB rentals I have stayed at use a property management company, but I never had all the extra communications outside the ABnB app.

We enjoyed the nice location and beautiful view from every window. It’s about 3 minutes walk down to the beach, shops & restaurants nearby. The building is older but the unit was very clean and organized. It’s perfect for 4 people. The check in was easy, the property manager Byron was helpful and responsive. The unit had everything we needed, we really enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful little two bedroom in the heart of Waikiki! Spectacular views from every window. Great location, with a short walk to the beach and shops. Treat yourself to coffee on the lanai and enjoy everything about this cute place!

Room was clean and updated although it creaks a lot throughout the night which makes sleeping on the couch bed tough. The city can be a bit loud at night as well but again typical of all the spots down here. Definitely would stay again

Overall a good stay. The check in process was challenging at first because we had the wrong code, but Byron helped us resolve that very quickly. The condo is centrally located which made it a convenient base from which to explore the island. The condo had everything we needed, and we enjoyed our stay.

Was a absolutely gorgeous view of diamondhead. Nice for a small family-you're not crammed into a small hotel room. However, the building itself is old and lackluster. The unit could use new carpet and paint or at least magic erase on doors(dirty smudges). Calling when you arrive to hear quick instructions is pointless. Let guests know this info in writing ahead of time. The area is close to the beach-water is clear and calm. Would have been nice for unit to have cooler for beach. The area itself is overcrowded with homeless people strewn all over. Wish I stayed at another island, honestly. Sad& shocking. If you go, hike diamondhead and snorkel at hanauma bay.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. Was nice to be close enough to Waikiki to walk to the beach for sunset every night; especially on Friday to catch the fireworks. Views of Diamond Head and the beach were incredible. We normally do a good deal of cooking during our stays but didn't cook a single meal during this visit as there was such a wonderful array of restaurants within a couple of blocks and/or we were somewhere else on the island during meal times. We did use glasses and plates for dinner we ordered in during our last night in Oahu.
Overall, there were very few negatives:
1. As others have stated, the paint could be freshened up and using a semi-gloss instead of a flat finish would be helpful.
2. The hallways and elevator lobbies are a bit dingy and smelled a bit like...a bird cage. (Not the property owners fault)
3. The lady working the early morning shift at the parking both in the garage was a bit grumpy, EVERY MORNING. I tried to kill her with kindness and she couldn't have cared less. (Again, not the property owners fault.)
4. The door leading into the unit was hard to open and close. This wasn't a major problem for us, but more of a concern in consideration of the noise it may have been making and disturbing the neighbors.
Would we stay here again...absolutely. We certainly enjoyed our stay.

This is my second time renting from Captain Cook Real Estate and a unit in the Waikiki Sunset. Both I highly recommend. This unit was a good size, updated, nicely furnished and well stocked. We visited Hawaii so our son who lives there could meet his 5 month old nephew. After some travel challenges, we got settled for our 9 days. Byron was so helpful that first night. We rented a pack n play that was set up and waiting for the babu. Thank you!!!Laundry and trash area were right outside our door. The view was amazing of Waikiki and Diamondhead. Great size for 4 people. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and parking in attached parking garage was very convenient. The only thing I would say could be improved would be for a few more pots/pans for cooking would be nice and a pizza pan/slicer. We didn't cook much so it wasn't an issue.Thanks Wendy for answering email questions so promptly and Byron for first day calls to accommodate our crazy arrival during a biblical monsoon. We would recommend this condo highly and would stay again.

First, I just loved the view of this stay. Right over Waikiki Beach and right in front of the Diamond head. The views were just gorgeous, peaceful and relaxing to see. My overall stay was great as well, the place had all amenities with everything you needed, it was clean, it was quiet, staff was friendly and on top of that this location is by everything from beaches, restaurants, and attractions. If you want to get a car that would be great but you really don’t have to have one because everything is pretty local.

Check in and communication was great. The walls were scuffed and definitely need painted. Also note the unit doesn’t have a dishwasher so everything was washed by hand and there is no pizza cutter. Small notes, but overall great location and friendly staff.

Very clean. Comfortable beds. Short walk to Waikiki beach. Somewhat lacking in cookware and cooking utensils but we made it work. Fantastic view of Diamondhead. Hallway and elevators a bit on shabby side but I think they are trying to renovate these. Had a problem with our air conditioner leaking to unit below us so for 3 of the days the maintenance men were trying to fix the problem but I’m sure this will be fixed soon. Overall we were happy.

Views are as advertised. This place was perfect for my family of 4. Location was ideal. Close to the beach and everything in Waikiki. The elevators were slow and we were nervous to ride in one of them. The building is in repairs and needs an update. However, the condo itself is modern, clean, and has everything you need.

Great location, central to all the best attractions in Waikiki. The picture of the view from the balcony does not do it justice, it was fantastic getting to see that everyday (champagne not included, however)! Definitely would stay there again next time I’m in Oahu.

Great location just a short walk from beaches and shopping. Fine room with a stunning view from each room, including both bedrooms. Excellent communication with the rental agents, especially as that communication extended over a period of 13 months. (Thank you!)
Not the fault of the rental agents, but keep in mind that you are in a condo with an HOA. This was expected, but I took one star off my overall rating because the COVID-19 response was rather excessive, including the requirement to make a reservation in order to use the pool and the fitness area. I would have given this property 5 stars otherwise.
