The Wailea Sunset Estate is a legal hotel-zoned ocean front vacation home which may be rented in combination with the adjoining Wailea Sunset Bungalow for a total of as many as 6 bedrooms and 6.5 baths for up to 12 guests! The Wailea Sunset Estate by itself is a beautiful 4,000 square foot newer luxury estate four bedroom home with five and a half bathrooms. The property is situated near two sandy swimming beaches and the properties border Wailea Resort. Guests have exclusive use of their own hot tub and pool situated under the stars.
The Wailea Sunset Estate has a priceless and stunning panoramic ocean front setting. A sprawling manicured grass lawn slopes down to the water's edge where a pebbly cove invites you to snorkel, swim, boogie board, kayak, and scuba dive - right from your home! Waves lap gently along the shoreline and may be heard day and night. Kick back and view the crystal clear ocean and the glittering starry night skies from the dramatic elevated upstairs decks.

- An adjacent residence is currently undergoing a remodel project. Construction noise may be heard but we're told the noisiest portions of the project are complete. The project is estimated to be completed in early 2024.
- On-site maintenance for interior plant care is performed weekly.
- Please expect ambient audible living noises. From time to time a neighbor may host a party or the voices of children playing or some music may be audible from a nearby residence.
- This home is located in a quiet residential area. Quiet hours are from 9pm to 8am.
- There is no cover or fence for the pool or hot tub spa. Guests are encouraged to actively monitor all pool and hot tub spa use and to bring any and all water safety devices they may need including water alert wristbands. Guest use of the outdoor areas including the pool and spa is at the guest's discretion and own risk.
- The shoreline in front of the property is pebbly. It may be most comfortable to use foot protection when entering the water. Ocean access may not always be safe due to varied ocean conditions.
- Over towards the Polo Beach area an off-shore undertow has been reported a few times in the past. Always swim with a buddy and never turn your back to the ocean. Guests agree to use caution and common sense and to always enter the ocean when the conditions are calm, and to enjoy all sports and activities at their own risk.
- The grass lawns surrounding the property and all neighboring properties are trimmed with a motorized mower one day each week.
- A small cottage known as the Wailea Sunset Bungalow is immediately adjacent to the Wailea Sunset Estate. The two dwellings are in close proximity to one another and we cannot say they are exclusively private from each other. A modest amount of landscaping provides some separation. Guests of the Wailea Bungalow are not invited to use the grounds, pool, or amenities of the Estate home.
- The master bedroom and two other main villa upstairs bedrooms are separated by an open-air patio called the moonlight terrace. The distance from the master bedroom to the others is approx. 30 feet. Baby monitors may be effective in overcoming the separation between bedrooms. The 4th bedroom is in a separate building near the carport on the (mountain) side of the property. It is also approx. 30 feet from the main villa. Access is via a covered open-air walkway.
The accommodation you are renting has flexible bedding options in at least one sleeping room/bedroom. Our staff will ask you in advance of arrival how you would like the beds made up in those spaces. Kindly let us know prior to arrival so we can have the sleeping arrangements pre-made for you. If you are unable to give us your bedding request in advance, or if you change your bedding request after arrival, a $150 change fee will be applied.

The property is stunning and yes as good as the photos indicate! Perfect location to many restaurants and good snorkeling beaches, even out front of the property had a turtle sunning itself on the beach. Spent every morning with our coffee on the beach area watching for whales blowing and breaching. The pool was warm and the hot tub excellent. Sunsets were amazing from the lawn through the palm trees. The tiki torches were a lovily added hawaiian touch for evening dinners on the lanai. Great access to Netflix on the big screen TV. The lounge chairs were very comfortable and relaxing. The beds were extremely comfortable.
On the flip side, immediately upon our arrival the AC in the Master Suite (which is amazing) was over 80F. Upon contacting the property manager she stated, "that happens all the time, if it's still a problem tomorrow let me know and I will send someone out." Well, it continued to be a problem, she got a tech out and it worked better for about 2 days, then back to heating up, never did get fully resolved during our stay. This was a real frustration, so before you book inquire if the AC has gotten replaced as she did say it was an old system. The AC in the other 2 bedrooms in the main house worked fine.
Then shortly into our stay the Kitchen refrigerator stopped working sometime during the night, and we had to throw out our perishables as it was quite warm inside. The ice maker also needed servicing. There was not a working coffee grinder in the home. While the property manager did get repair people out - at one point there were 4 people in the kitchen from outside our group, not the CoVid touchless experience we were hoping for. It took about 24 hours for the fridge to be fully operational after that.
I am a seasoned VRBO renter, having rented around the world, and this is the 1st time I have run into maintenance issues of this magnitude. The property is stunning, but it seems the maintenance people looking after it need to step up their game significantly. No customer wants to hear "this happens all the time". For the cost of this property there should be no issue that "happens all the time"
In discussions with the property management company, we received ultimately a credit of one nights stay that was acceptable to us for our troubles. The experience we had would not stop me from recommending this property, but I would want to ensure upfront the issues with the AC in the Master and fridge were fully resolved.

This was a great house in a great location. We really enjoyed the layout. Perfect for our family. Loved the pool, hot tub and lawn games. Being able to walk across the yard and sit by the ocean was amazing. All the amenities and extra touches were really appreciated. We had one minor issue with the air conditioner, but it was fixed the next day. I hope we can come back and stay again some day!

We just spent the most amazing 9 days in Maui staying at this incredible home. It was me and my wife, our four kids (ages 2-10) and our au pair.
We are used to staying at luxury hotels and our alternative plans were indeed to stay at a hotel. We are SO glad we didn’t.
This home had it all. The location was perfect—being right on the beach and less than 2min walk to the hotels. The home was well suited for us with the room settings, the pool, the separate room for the au pair.
The activities we were able to do with our kids with the help of Yvonne, the concierge, were really beyond anything we could have imagined.
We can’t wait to come back for whale season!

I felt like a rock star staying at this beautiful home. The perfect vacation for our family. Loved the views of the ocean. Beautiful sunsets and even saw a moon set one morning. We hosted a Thanksgiving dinner for about 30 who were visiting Maui for a business trip. They were in awe of the house and the wonderful meal we had prepared. What a great memory this was and everything we needed to cook for 30. Very well supplied and organized. "Mahalo"
