Loved this place, they had more than we thought they would in regards to space, kitchen items, useful beach items, bikes etc. It was a great location and good size home. Being from Texas we really need our AC, but it wasn’t too bad.. Sue, Monica and everyone else were wonderful!! Would recommend to anyone. Mahalo!

Sue was an amazing property manager handling minor complaints and even offered us another home to stay at while waiting for a late plane departure. The Princeville home on Makai golf course was great location with exceptional communal space. Open concept first floor offered access to pool and patio kitchen and large living room. Highly recommend

Very comfortable place for our family whose ages ranged from 9 to 71. Plenty of room inside and outside in beautiful surroundings. Good places to be together and private spaces for those needing peace and quiet.
Excellent communication with the owner who left fruit and treats for our arrival and made sure we had everything we needed.
GREAT beds, 31/2 bathrooms, well equipped kitchen, all made for an amazing vacation.

It was very dated, pool spa not working when we arrived & for quite a few days throughout our stay. Screen doors dilapidated and quite a few didn't work. Fans & light switches difficult to locate and many not working. Very loud location, busy road opposite house carry lots of traffic day & night. Golf Course maintenance (mowing, rolling, & more) started at 6.30am every morning including the weekend. Roosters crowing all night and with non closing windows was exceptionally irritating, none of our party enjoyed a refreshing sleep. A poor start to our stay on beautiful Kauai. Was difficult to talk with property manager, didn't return calls only replied to 1/2 messages. Was more interested in sharing his life story, he certainly didn't know the property & couldn't show us the switches & wasn't familiar with the pool

I have gone back & forth on how I feel about the property. The home itself is a perfect layout, however, for the cost, it is in need of minor repairs & updates. We arrived Sunday 10/2/22, Thamas was there w/ someone else, & stated 2 small items to be done on the pool table & that they will have it done by Tuesday & asked if it was okay that he returned during our stay to do so. We of course said yes! While he was still there we noticed that one of the bar stools was broken, brought it to his attention & he fixed it right then. As we get settled in we noticed other things like the primary bath towel rack was not attached correctly & fell from the wall once the towel was hung, & some ceiling fans & other fans were not working properly or at all (brought to Thamas attention & it was never fixed) which is quite important when the home has NO AC. The largest was having no hot water. The first night our son had taken a shower complaining the water was cold. The next morning my husband went outside and noticed that both Instant Hot Water systems were both unplugged! Weird, right? So he plugged them both in! Problem fixed! Until we ran out of propane! We did not realize the tank was basically empty! We had to get ahold of Thamas to have propane delivered. Also, we lost the internet. This really wouldn't have been an issue, as we are in paradise however, the 3 high schoolers, needed to do their homework. 3 days w/o internet! Thomas did step up, to get it handled, had the propane delivered, & dropped off fresh limes & avocados. He is genuinely a sweet person. However, he was at the home 4 days of our 7 day stay & the pool table was never completed. :( In fact, I texted him about it & he never responded. :( The pool & hottub were so cold, not sure if that was due to the lack of propane but aside from one of the youngest boys getting in the 1st night, they were not used at all, because they were too cold. For the fee we are charged for cleaning, the cleaning could have been better, as there were empty wrappers in the upstairs shower window seal, & something white on the wall in the same bathroom. Also, the glass panes needed cleaning. Most of the beach items were missing some straps, & the umbrella was missing the bottom pole. The bottom line is the home has a PERFECT layout as the upstairs can act as a 2nd primary, just needs a little attention w/ minor repairs & updates on interior items, bedding, linens, mattresses, window treatments for privacy, etc.

Property manager was very pleasant to work with. The pool, although not large, was a big plus and just right for cooling off in the afternoon. The downstairs master ceiling fan did not work but the property manager is working on getting that fixed. Overall a very nice stay.

The house was beautiful and pool was great for our young children. Wish the communication that the hot tub was needing repair had been better, once the pump was fixed the hot tub was wonderful. No issues with there being no ac during the heat of July, the cross breeze worked wonderfully to cool us down. Convenient location to explore the northern shore of the island. Kids loved the pool and was perfect size for our young children. Some of the supplies pictured are no longer there but we still had plenty of stuff to occupy our kids at the beach with! Overall, would stay again!

We just got back from Kauai and we had a wonderful time. The house was close enough to walk to the shop area as well as different hikes down to the beach. We had plenty of room to spread out, and the pool was perfect. We knew it wasn't a huge pool going in, but for a 5 year old and two teeangers, they had a blast. The hot tub was extra hot, so after turning it on and then off again, it maintained it's heat and even warmed up the pool a bit. I did end up buying my son a blow up mattress to sleep on, (cause who wants a rolling/tossing kid sleeping in a bed with them?!) and realized there was no extra bedding - at least that I could find. A throw blanket for the evening would've been nice, or an extra set of sheets even. However, the towels worked just fine and I had a mini travel blanket I brought on the plane.
There's no AC but the draft across the house with the fans and standing fans helped. It cooled off quite nicely in the evening. With the slatted doors not being solid to each room, and no door to the upstairs, we were able to hear each other, the tv and whatnot where ever we were in the house. I'd suggest some ear plugs if you're a light sleeper - especially with the roosters!! :) I heard they are more noisy in Hananlei though. I of course was prepared and slept great (the bed in the downstairs master was super comfy in my opinion) but just thought I'd share the information.
Both the property owner and manager were helpful, informative, and responsive!
Lots of beach toys, chairs, life jackets, a wagon, and two umbrellas (although one was missing the bottom pole) were helpful for the beach excursions. Even a handful of boogie boards!
I would definitely recommend this place to others.

The owner was prompt in answering all questions. The home had everything we needed. Kitchen had any tool (eg rice cooker & slow cooker) . Family room good size for large gatherings. Everyone loved their bedrooms. Only downsize is 10 minutes walk to beach is not really feasible because of steepness of hill but property manager recommended 10 minutes drive to beach and it was spectacular! Waking up to the rooster crowing and birds meeting us for morning coffee was fantastic. Great stay. I know there have been complaints about beach towels and supplies. We had no significant complaints. If you want plush bring your own. If you want convenience the beach supplies were adequate. We loved cheering the golfers on when they made their puts. Thanks for making our stay of 8 nights enjoyable

Our family trip of a lifetime was spent at this beautiful home with all the amenities as listed and then some. The hot tub and pool were perfectly relaxing. This home was prime location for a home away from home stay. Less than 5 minutes from a quant small town strip mall with a well stocked grocery store and an eclectic array of restaurants. This spacious and beautifully decorated Hawaiian home exceeded our expectations. The bedrooms were great size and fabulous. We were celebrating a 30th wedding anniversary and had a Hawaiian ceremony on Anise beach (approx. 10 minutes away). Our property manager, Thames, connected us with a concierge who helped us to locate the perfect private chef who prepared the best authentic Hawaiian style 4 course meal right in the fully stocked kitchen. All in all this home, the view of the golf course and proximity to beautiful beaches makes this an ideal location for a vacation of a lifetime.

Overall the house was very comfortable. Kitchen was wonderful to fix meals in, and the living room space was big enough for us all.
We loved the outdoor space and utilized it daily.
Only suggestion I would make would be to put a small dresser in each of the small bedrooms. Other than hanging your clothes up, there's no clothes storage.

We so enjoyed our stay! This was the perfect home base to come back and relax. Our three teens had their own space, wonderful lounge couches inside and out. Plenty of showers and even an outdoor for after the beach. We used the provided beach towels, boogie boards, cooler, beach chair and beach blanket. That saved room in our luggage to not have to bring beach towels. So nice to have a washer and dryer, again to be able to pack less, as well as a wonderful kitchen. 10 min drive to great beaches and towns all with amazing scenery. Walked the golf course to the disc golf course for a fun afternoon and also a great path near the golf course as well. Thank you!

We are two couples re-starting our annual visit to the north shore post COVID; we have stayed in many properties and locations in Princeville and Hanalei. Great location on a cul-de-sac in a single family neighborhood, mix of residents and rental homes. 10 minute walk to shopping center, short drive to golf course. Property is on 11th green of Makai course. Home is very comfortable and well designed, 2 king masters plus 2 queen rooms sharing a bath. 1/2 bath near kitchen. Kitchen/dining area fully stocked with anything you could need, including full compliment of small appliances. Lovely covered outdoor living/dining. Pool and spa are small but well maintained, used them every day! Beautiful landscaping including small side zen gardens. All furnishings and accessories first rate. Everything for your beach days available in the garage, including kids floatie vests and beach toys, although no snorkel gear or bikes as some other properties have. Small detail! Would definitely return.

The home was roomy, clean and comfortable, great for a large group. Everything worked, which is not something we always find in rental homes. The beach gear in the garage was clean and in great condition. Communication with Sue was quick and easy.
The home is well designed for Hawaii. Even when it was hot outside, the house stayed cool and comfortable inside without air conditioning. For comparison, we were in a condo at Hanalei Bay Resort before moving to this house. The AC ran in that condo all day and night and it still always felt hot. So for those who may be worried about renting a house without AC, I don't think it's an issue.
We usually stay beachfront, or somewhere with a view, so we were a little bit worried about missing that. However, it was fun to watch the golfers on/around the green right off the patio. We've stayed at different houses/condos in Princeville several times, and would would definitely stay at this house again!

While the location of this property was great unfortunately the overall stay was below our standards. Other than the master bedroom there was zero dresser space. Those staying in bedrooms 2-4 basically lived out of their suitcases.
Towels for the pool/beach were paper thin and could use an upgrade. The kitchen is dated and the knives were dull.
Some of the beach items in the photos were not actually available. There was 1 boogie board and a couple of chairs but no masks, fins or snorkels forcing us to rent those items.
All in all the property is tired and in need of a major freshening.

My family and I had an amazing time while in Kauai and already planning our return trip to the Island. The house is spacious and beautiful in a very safe area. All amenities were accurately listed and every need was met. The pictures of the property are spot on and really do no justice to just how beautiful it actually is. The check in and out process was incredibly easy and I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a carefree relaxing Aloha experience.

Took my family on an amazing trip to Kauai and stayed at Kalihiwai. Photos are very accurate an in an amazing development right on the Makai Princeville Golf course.
My grandchildren absolutely loved the pool and spa. Nearby hiking and beautiful beaches are also close. Close to Hanalei. We will definitely consider a return visit.

Our group had a fantastic time in Kauai and the house met our needs perfectly. We were 4 adults and 2 teens and each of us were comfortable in our rooms. The Master Bedroom in addition to the King bed in the "penthouse" made for perfect arrangements for both couples. Although it was 80-85 degrees during our stay, not having AC was not an issue at all. With the ability to open up the sliding doors and run the ceiling fans, the house felt comfortable. We enjoyed evenings on the Lanai, and everyone appreciated the pool/jacuzzi after a day of hiking or snorkeling. The location in Princeville was very convenient. The house was well equipped for our needs, especially the kitchen. We cooked dinner every night and had everything we needed. Thank you Sue and Thamas for ensuring that we had a great experience. I highly recommend this property.

Our family of 8 couples stayed here for 5 nights and it was perfect! Plenty of space for all both inside and out! The hot tub and pool were great to come home to after our daily adventures. Location was perfect - minutes to beaches, grocery store or to get on the main road to get to Hanalei or to head to the east side for shopping. My husband and I booked this house for us, some friends and some family (3 couples in total) for a little over a week. From the get-go, the owner was on top of communication, letting us know about the recent mudslide, related road/lane closures and offered many suggestions of things to do on the island during our stay. We booked the house because we wanted to stay on the north shore, and it had the amenities we were looking for - and because of the generous cancellation policy. (We booked just before Kauai opened back up.)
The house was very clean, nicely appointed and had a beautiful golf course view - with a stellar view of the ocean about a 5-10 minute walk way. There is a little hidden trail nearby if you want to hike about 10 minutes that takes you to a nice private beach.
Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed the pool/hot tub most evenings and had plenty of room to relax, play cards and visit. I love Kauai and look forward to a future return!

We stayed as a family for our parents 50th Anniversary. We had plenty of room and the house is very well appointed. I don't think there was one this we needed that wasn't at our fingertips. We have stayed in Princeville several times, and the location is perfect for our vacation style.
The pool and spa maintenance was excellent and it was cleaned at lest twice while we were there. There are beach chairs and towels, coolers and umbrellas.
Sue is excellent at communication. She contacted me several times with updates and ideas for our trip. She even helped me plan an anniversary luau which was the highlight for my parents.
This home does not have air conditioning, which was fine for us in May.

Beautiful home and easy process. Owner very accessible and property manager helpful too. Easily vacationed with 8 adults and 1 infant - plenty of space and accommodations. Loved the outside space by pool and bbq - spent a lot of time enjoying the shade and breeze! Property did a good job of making sure there were plenty of fans due to lack of a/c - but the upstairs in particular was nearly uninhabitable in the afternoons - even at the end of October. If you’re out and about during this time you wouldn’t notice as it cools nicely at night, but we had to drive around to nap our baby as he couldn’t deal with the temps up there at all.
Overall I’d definitely recommend this property - it was gorgeous and perfect for our family. Pics are just like reality!

Just got back from 2 weeks at this lovely home. We had 3 couples staying first week and family came second week. It was ideal for both groups. We cooked some and used the grill. Loved the covered patios and splash pool and hammock. Quiet location on the golf course although the golf crews were out there early everyday. Beds were comfy and lots of fans going kept the house reasonably cool. Early October was still in the 80's with high humidity. Wonderfully located near grocery store/bar/breakfast place and some nice little shops. We loved being "local" vs. stuck at a resort. The house had all the beach stuff we could ever need and it got used! Short drive into Hanalei town...our favorite spot. Nice beaches, restaurants and mountains. Little more rain here but mostly short warm showers. We did lots on the island. Will definitly return to this area of Kauai. If you have a good sized group this is a great house!! Must do the Makai sunset golf cart tour....you can take drinks with you and see amazing views. This house is on the 11th green!

While we did love Kauai, I can not recommend renting this home in the hot summer months!! It was in the high 80’s each day so the house was hot!! There were some nice breezes flowing through the rental but not enough to feel comfortable. And the screen doors were not in good shape and didn’t close fully so flies were able to get in. We did appreciate the shady covered lanai and pool. They helped cool us down after busy days on the island. The kitchen was very nice and fully stocked with everything you would possibly need. The beds were comfortable and the master bathroom was nice. The garage was stocked with beach gear and Thames, the house manager, replaced two broken chairs quickly. He even brought us extra flippers when we needed them for snorkeling. Overall, the house was a good location and ok for a four night stay.

It was big rainy in midnight, during stay,but in daytimes were very few rain.
So every day, we could play golf in several golf courace in all Kauai island.

Great property for a larger group; lots of lounging space, real beds & baths, and a big kitchen for cooking. The lack of AC in July was at times a bit uncomfortable, but there are fans everywhere (including the covered patio) and it’s a good excuse to make a drink and jump in the pool. House came with all the beach gear you could pack in two trunks, which was really convenient. Owner was on top of communication and had lots of recommendations if you’re looking for things to do. Last note I’ll make is to bring or buy bug spray if you plan on hanging outside past sunset; its not bad during the day, but it’s a tropical island and the mosquitos come out in force!

This home is beautiful, clean, spacious, and has everything you need! We cooked every night :D Despite one stove top burner not working and a broken coffee maker, we enjoyed many delicious homemade meals. Thamas (on island property manager) quickly brought over a working coffee maker. He is always available if you have questions or need recommendations during your Stay. We loved the jacuzzi and pool. And there is Access to Netflix!!! The home location is perfect!

From the comfortable beds with soft sheets to the natural based cleaners and soaps this home spoke to our hearts in so many ways. The salt water pool was immaculately maintained and the on demand hot tub was perfect for sore muscles. Do not overlook going for a walk on the golf course early morning. It was my families favorite thing to do and make sure you make a right turn and go through the tunnel for a 15 min stroll to an amazing beach view that will take your breath away. We even heard waves at night when sleeping! This home has everything! Did you forget sunscreen? its there! Spices for cooking-yup! Condiments for your grilling- check! Rice cooker- sure thing! Blender for island smoothies- yes yes yes! High ceilings , large living space and generous bedrooms in this zen like setting will be a memory we will treasure for years. We were able to accomodate all six of our family into this house very comfortably. The rooms were very clean and the pictures on VRBO were accurate. The owner, Sue, called me hours after making the reservation, asked if I had any questions and gave great suggestions on things to do during our visit. They have a manager, Thamas, who met us at the property and also answered any questions. My favorite part was sitting on the back porch, enjoying the warm breeze, watching the golfers, and the jacuzzi. There was a pair of Nene(Hawaiian geese) who visited daily. You can walk to the ocean views, St Regis Resort and nearby grocery store. I was very satisfied with this VRBO rental.

What a SPECTACULAR and STUNNING home! We could not have asked for a more perfect home for our vacation. The home was in a great location as well as very quiet and private.
Sue was great and always available for questions both before we arrived and after! The property manager was attentive to our needs. He stopped by to greet us and gave us an overview of the island. Any time we had a question or a need, he was quick to respond! He was awesome!
The home is a great size and feels much larger than it is. There were 7 adults in our party and we always had plenty of room. The open living area had a huge feel due to the walls of glass doors and windows on all sides. The two master suites were large and very private. The sunset from the penthouse suite was incredible! The spa bathroom in the main floor master suite was amazing with a luxurious shower and expansive vanity. The other two bedrooms were a nice size with plenty of closet space. The game system was a huge hit with our adult children! The beds in all bedrooms were very comfortable providing restful nights.
The kitchen was great! The industrial size refrigerator had an abundance of space. The oven and cook top were more than adequate and the Bar-B-Que grill outside added an extra cook surface. The kitchen was amply stocked with pots and pans, dishes, glassware, flatware, utensils, bake ware and food storage containers. There were plenty of small appliances and a pantry of various staples in addition to a cabinet dedicated to spices and seasonings. The kitchen island was a wonderful area for food prep and a comfortable space for interacting with the chef.
The living room was spacious and tranquil. We enjoyed watching the large screen TV together and relaxing. The outdoor furniture was comfortable. The large hammock was a favorite for everyone as well as the hot tub! The swimming pool was small but refreshing.
There were also beach chairs, boogie boards, snorkeling gear, sand toys, pool noodles, a cooler, beach bags and beach towels provided.
As mentioned in other reviews, the home does not have air conditioning. However, there are several ceiling fans and a multitude of floor and countertop fans as well as windows and doors in every room providing a lot of air flow. We were always comfortable, day and night.

This house was a good deal for the price. We spent Thanksgiving st this place, two families, total of eight. The dual master configuration was perfect and the house is very spacious. The pool is small but our kids loved it. Lots of beach toys in the garage. The only downside was the maintenance. Appliances not working, ceiling fans missing the remotes or not operational and everything is just a bit worn. But at this price point, it was a good option. If you are looking for high-end this is not it but nice enough. Princeville location is great too.

What an amazing home and property! The house was perfect for 3 days we wanted to stay in to enjoy the scenery and was the perfect point for the places we planned to visit. I would highly recommend booking this home! We will definitely be back!

We enjoyed two weddings and a 10 day adventure on Kauai. This was our home for those 10 days, with 3 couples and our grandson who couldn't get enough of the pool and spa. The home is well equipped, and perfectly located overlooking the 11th hole of Makai golf course. No need to bring or buy any Beach stuff, since the garage is full of chairs, umbrella's, snorkels, fins, etc. Enjoyed the walking path nearby, and easy commute to restaurants, beaches, and Golf!!

This was our sixth visit to the beautiful Na Pali coast. Staying at such a spectacular home was a real treat! Our family of seven, including three children, found the immaculate accommodations just perfect for all of us. The children loved the hot-tub & pool area best. Grandpa enjoyed whipping up breakfasts in the "state of the art" kitchen while our son-in-law & grandson played golf ( part of the course was in our line of vision). Everyone enjoyed the quick access to unspoiled, uncrowded white sand beaches. Conveniently, in the evening, diner could be had at the St. Regis, the Westin Resort, or locally in town. All in all, the house provided us with a very memorable vacation.

If you want to stay in Princeville and want a well stocked and beautiful home, this is the place for you and your family/ group. We had six adults and four toddlers. The home is beautifully decorated and roomy. It was like staying in a penthouse suite but with all the comforts of a real home. It has everything you need to make your stay what you want it to be...nice location, professional kitchen, close to shops, beautiful pool and hot tub and large comfortable high end furniture. Would definitely return!

We really enjoyed this house. The location was great for access to restaurants and beaches. The house was a little warm on the first day, but once we opened the windows - and there are lots of windows - and turned on the ceiling fans and a few portable fans, it was very pleasant. Coffee on the patio every morning was great. The nene, chickens, and other birds stopped by every morning. The pool is perfect for a dip. The golf course view was great. You can see a sliver of the ocean as well. We had only six people in our group so one couple shared the two smaller bedrooms (used one as their closet and dressing room) . We cooked at the house most evenings, and the kitchen was fairly well equipped. Could use some newer pots and pans and baking dishes, but we managed just fine . For the money, this is a great place to stay.

This home was perfect for our stay. Comfortably fit all 8 of us. Very well maintained, great location with easy access to Foodland and a short drive to Hanalei Bay. 45 minute to one hour drive to Lihue, so hit Costco and Walmart before leaving airport area - will save the time it takes to go back across the island.
The entire house was well stocked with all of the needed amenities and then some. The hottub and dipping pool were a very nice addition and offered great relaxation after a day at the beach.
I would absolutely stay at this property again!

This property is in a perfect location, tons of space for 9 of us, and is in great condition. Walking distance to Foodland and about one hour from Costco, short drive to Hanalei Bay (well worth the visit). Scenery around the property is stunning. The location could not be any better, it's a prime location for North Kauai (Na Pali Coast Tour, Hanalei Bay etc), very easy to get anywhere quickly.
The place itself has a great layout, modern style, modern appliances, TV, central music system, large sized couch for all family members and a huge kitchen. I did find the master bathroom (main floor) could use a bit of simplification (i.e. make the shower very simple without all of the jets etc that don't work anyways), but I am being pretty picky here, it was still fine. I also wish this property had a safe to keep our valuables. Any minor issues were addressed immediately (i.e. a minor issue with the kitchen tap), never had one problem with property management crew, very friendly and responsive. Basically everything you need was in this house. The pool was a great size to hang by, my daughter loved it. The property served our needs perfectly, I would definitely recommend this.
