Eric and Damon are great hosts and offer a very well-equipped condo. Everything you could possibly need in the kitchen, including really nice pots and pans. The washer, dryer, and drying rack on the lanai were very welcome, as were the beach chairs, sunbrella, boogie boards, beach towels, coolers, ice packs…. The Keauhou Shopping Centre is only a few minutes drive away, so very handy for groceries, restaurants and other shops. The pool is great to cool off after a day exploring the island, and usually pretty quiet. We wish we could have stayed longer. Returning to Alaska winter was a rude awakening!! Highly recommend.

This was the first time my husband and I visited the Big Island. We were there for the Ironman World Championships. Our stay at Kona Vacay was wonderful!! We can't say enough about how great Damon and Eric were as our hosts. Most of our communication was with Damon since Eric was out of town with family. From the very start, Damon made us feel very welcome. He greeted us when we arrived and showed us around the place and how to use everything. The place itself was excellent and just as described. We liked the fact that it was a little bit away from all the hustle and bustle but close enough to get to everything in Kona. Damon was great with communication and was able to give us advice on places to eat and things to do. We highly recommend staying at Damon and Eric's place. If we are fortunate enough to return to the Big Island, we would definitely stay here again. Thank you so much for welcoming us into your place!!

Our second stay at this apartment, even better than the first time in 2019 as we stayed longer! Great communication with hosts, no fuss booking and check in. We LOVE this location, although best to have a car. Spacious apartment, everything you need, snorkelling gear and body boards, beach chairs, coolers, beach towels, the hosts even bought us a beach umbrella. We ate on the lanai for every meal. New Air Conditioning unit in the bedroom, although we did not use it as love the ceiling fans and open windows and doors throughout. The pool in this complex is the best...clean, clear, mostly quiet, warm shower and plenty of chairs, loungers and umbrellas. Even a book lending library at the pool! We don't mind the early starts from the golf course workers and golfers, as the views and privacy from the lanai are awesome. Walks around coast and golf course. Close to supermarket and shopping centre, and walking distance to harbour and twice weekly market. Easy drive to Kona, 25 minutes to airport. THANK YOU :)

We truly enjoyed our time here. Very nice, quiet property. Used it as our home base for the first part of our stay, then stayed closer to Volcano NP at the end. There were no issues at all during our stay. The hosts thought of everything. Great to have a cooler, beach chairs, etc. The propane BBQ on the balcony was perfect for burgers. The pool is small, but close to the unit and was great to cool off. As others have mentioned, the outside noise (birds, yard crew, etc) starts really early. All of the windows are slats to allow airflow, but also allows in sound. We didn’t mind at all. It was actually nice to get the day started early. But if that bothers you, bring earplugs or reconsider. We would definitely stay again!

We had a great time at the rental, we were very comfortable, weather and breeze were very nice and no concern for not having an AC. Unit was well equipped for everything we needed from all beach chairs, snorkel gear, towels and chairs. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook breakfast and enjoyed our meals on the lanai.
Eric and Damon live next door and were always easily accessible, we ran into them a few times and they helped with suggestions of what to do and are there if you need anything.

The mowing of grass on the golf course was in my opinion very minimal.
No noise from neighbors above, so it may be a hit and miss depending on who rents the unit, assuming it is rented.

This was by far the best home away from home experience I've had and I travel frequently. I am a travel healthcare worker, and this location was convenient and has everything you could need. I wish I could have extended my stay for the rest of my contract. Damon and Eric are the best hosts. They have thought of everything to make this stay easy and accommodating. For a work trip this had complete kitchen, washer dryer, space to work from home if needed. For those vacationing, which I got to experience on weekends, was even better. The view is amazing. I plan to return in the future! Mahalo!

The good.
The tasteful appointments were really nice.
We enjoyed the deck, especially during sunsets. The lounge chair was perfect and comfortable.
The Kitchen was very well equipped and accommodated all of our needs, the wash/dryer was a plus.
Relaxing in the living area with the large TV added to our sports enjoyment and other media entertainment.
The beds were comfortable, we switched sleeping on them to wake up to a different view now and then.
Supplying us with a small coffee grinder and Usb port was a very classy gesture. Mahalo.
The Bad:
As mentioned by a previous renter's review, a lot of early morning golf course maintenance
Then the ongoing tenant noise.
It was so loud at times no doubt others also heard it, mainly coming from the condo's above and below our unit. This went on for days. There were loud voices inside, on decks and outside, banging, furniture moving, article dropping, heavy high heel or clog shoes on floors to mention a few. This occurred during the day but mostly at night between 1am and 4am in the morning hours. Not sure if they were visitors or condo owners but they were never quiet.
We understand that owners do not have any control of who stays in their units' or others, but something has to be done to ensure that others will not have the negative experience of what we and previous renters have.
There are Condo Noise Rules, but those brainless, inconsiderate people ongoingly do not care.
Could have been 4/5 stars, 3 stars was a gift.

Lovely property exactly as advertised. Enjoyed the sunsets from the lanai. Damon and Eric are thoughtful hosts and were very accommodating to our needs. Downside was the early morning noisy golf course mowing and loud party below us (that continued to 4 am.) That said I would stay here again and recommend this lovely property as a great stay!

The place is conveniently located close to most shops and restaurants as well as the beaches. Our only complaint was that the golf course mowing operations started between 4:00-5:00 am most days and was quite noisy. Other than that, it was a great stay!

A good stay!
Pros: Owners live next door and are very nice. Condo is a 5 minute walk from the beautiful Sheraton Resort. [note: We tried to see the manta rays at the Sheraton one evening (there's a viewing area) but none were there as the boat trips that were just offshore seemed to lure them away from the Sheraton viewing area.] The golf course is pretty and the sunset view is nice. The condo is well equipped and overall is updated and comfortably fit our family of 2 adults and 2 teens. The lounger on the lanai was amazingly comfy!
Cons: Mornings were noisy at this complex. One morning the yard crew geared up with their equipment around 7 AM ish and it sounded like there was some construction noise maybe around the complex or golf course another morning early. We love to sleep in a bit on vacation and didn't expect it to be as noisy. We love to walk and there wasn't much that was walkable from the condo other than the Sheraton. The "action" area where restaurant row is and the beaches, are a distance away, so a car is required. The kitchen is clean and functional, but has older cabinets and appliances (the rest of the condo is reasonably updated). The condo guide/guest info book advertised that there was snorkeling equipment for use (which we found is fairly standard in Hawaii) but during our stay it was not available.

The condo was even nicer than it looks on the site. Great touches with beautiful art and new tile. Hosts were very attentive to any need, but not hovering as neighbors. As mentioned by others there are lots of morning sounds , natural ( birds and roosters and frogs) and golf course and maintenance related so I recommend it for “morning people.” Being on the southern edge of Kona was great and out of the fray of town, one minute further south and you’re really out of town. For swimming / surfing and beaches driving a mile or two north worked out great. The view from this place with its open living room / lanai was incredible We didn’t want to leave! Murphy bed was great and when we fitted the couch with sheets it was a comfortable bed too.. Definitely recommend this space.

Damon and Eric were awesome to deal with. You don't have to worry about finding a parking space because there is assigned parking. The condo was so airy and spacious. We enjoyed staying at Unit 305 Keauhou Akahi. The unit was very clean and pleasant to be in. For us, the location was so very convenient, with access to the shopping center and our other relatives staying at different venues in the area. The only issue was: At the bottom of the stairway, there's a rubber border around the concrete base. The border edge is sticking so far up that I walked right into it and scratched my foot. This should be attended to immediately, before someone gets more seriously injured.

We were extremely happy with our stay at this property in Kona. Nice clean aparpment. Plenty of amenities including cable tv, Bogogie boards, snorkling gear, beach towels, beach shade and a barbie on the lanai.
The swimming pool on the property is nice and the parking is ample.
The property adjoins a golf course and sometimes people tee off early and maintenance starts early but this didn't really affect our stay.
Bugs are a thing of life on the Big Island, and there were some about, but keeping the screens closed minimised the impact
The property is about 15 minute drive from the centre of Kona, but there is a mall about 5 minutes away which has a great Mexican, plus an L&L BBQ to eat. It also has a super drugstore that has basic groceries as well

We can't say enough good things about our recent trip to the Big Island and our three week stay in Eric's Kona Vacay. The building complex is very well maintained and beautifully landscaped. At any given time, the breezes bring in the scent of a hundred different flowers through the floor to ceiling jallousie windows. The panoramic view from the large lanai and the bedroom windows, of the grounds, the Kona Country Club, and the ocean with its unbelievable sunsets, was amazing. We enjoyed many breakfasts, afternoons, and dinners on the lanai, with the convenience of the gas grill at hand. The condo is clean, and very nicely decorated with new furniture, comfy bed, beautiful tropical artwork painted by Eric's talented mom, and new appliances in the well-equipped kitchen. I was able to cook entire meals and baked desserts for a church potluck using the cookware provided. We appreciated and devoured the fruit, coffee, and macadamias that awaited us on arrival. Parking is close and convenient, as is the pool. We're no longer into water sports at our age, but everything one might need for snorkeling and beach fun has been provided. We did enjoy the the tatamis, and thick beach towels. We were especially grateful for the videos and information that Eric passed along. Although this was our 10th trip to the Big Island, there was still plenty to learn. The condo's proximity to the Keauhou shopping center for our practical needs, and to the "End Of The World's" cliffs, wild goats, and blowholes for our more adventurous side cannot be beat. Eric is so friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. It was a thoroughly enjoyable trip, right down to the little gecko who decided my pina colada would be a great place to swim and imbibe! I think the only thing I would add would be a journal where visitors could list their favorite places and restaurants. Thanks, Eric, for sharing your place in Hawaiian paradise with us. We certainly hope a repeat visit is in our future!

This property well exceeded all of my expectations. It is well kept, spacious, and really has a Hawaiian flare. My favorite piece of this property is the open lanai that overlooks a golf course and the ocean. It is also a perfect spot to watch the magnificent sunsets! This property is very accommodating to the needs of a family or group having two bathrooms, two separate sleeping quarters, and a fully stocked kitchen. There are even water activity supplies for you to use at your leisure including equipment for snorkeling, boogie boarding, and picnicking. The owner of this property is also very attentive, being readily available to be contacted during your stay if you have any questions or concerns. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Kona, and look forward to booking here again in the future.

We highly recommend booking with Eric and Kona Vacay! The property is in a nice quiet complex and in a great location! Eric the owner is a great host and does an excellent job of recommending restaurants and activities. The condo is clean and is setup in a manor that gives off a relaxing vibe. The pictures don’t do it justice. It’s seems a lot bigger in person that what the pictures portray so don’t let them fool you! The place definitely feels like home from the moment you walk in. We loved our stay in Eric's condo; hands down one of the best vacations yet! This was my first time in Hawaii with my partner and we were somewhat skeptical of staying in a hotel/resort or booking a condo/place during our stay. I am glad that we went with booking a condo as my partner proposed to me during our stay, making the condo a perfect romantic base for our many travels around the Island! Leading up to our surreal stay in Kona, Eric (condo owner) emailed us introducing himself and sharing a very useful visitor's guide for us to consider while living in his condo.
Our two-week stay in his cozy condo was perfect for access to shops, farmer's markets, and much more. Lastly, the value of staying with Eric was absolutely unbeatable especially as he provided suggestions for beaches and snorkeling spots (including gear), restaurants, and tips for navigating our stay. We loved our stay and hope to return again soon!

Our family booked this condo in Nov 2017 and were super pleased. The owner, Eric, is kind, thoughtful and has a great place near the Sheraton Keauhou. The condo was clean, spacious, safe, and is a GREAT value for the money spent. We will hopefully be back! The lanai is huge, electronic key entry and WiFi is convenient and the location at the bottom of Alii Drive was perfect for our staycation. Close to everything we needed; including Keauhou Bay, KTA (grocery), shopping and soccer fields. We totally loved our stay! Mahalo and Aloha!!

It was our first time going to Kona-Hawaii. We've rented Eric place and it was perfect!!! From the beginning he was so helpful and available sharing infos and tips about Kona for planning our trip.
His place was quiet, clean, quite big (pictures dont do justice, its bigger in personne) exactly what we needed.
We enjoyed the afternoons at the pool and the best sunset on the balcony preparing dinner out of the bbq.
We would definitely go back any time.
