Condo was ready and equipped as advertised. No surprises and and an easy experience with the owner. Enjoyed our stay very much. Pool and hot tub are used frequently by other guests. We didn't use, but they all spoke highly of the outdoor grill setup. Property is well maintained, with crews cleaning all outdoor facilities daily. They recycle everything here too, which was nice. Friendly staff and helpful folks at the local travel agency that shares an office with the resort. They were super nice, but if you know what you want to do, book direct to avoid an extra "credit card fee" and tip. Beware, on your checkout day that your lock code may change early on you, locking you out of the room. Use the door stopper while you're getting you car ready to leave.

The location of the unit and the views from the lanai were great. The bed was really comfy. The location of the resort is great. I love that you’re literally a few feet from the beach. It’s less than 20 minutes from the airport and only a few minutes from a large restaurant and grocery area by car. There’s a nice little bake shop and farmers market within walking distance.
On the downside, the resort is dated and shows of wear and is not much to look at when approaching it. The unit itself could be cleaner. There were roaches and gnats present during our stay. The television needs to be upgraded. It is smaller than my monitor at work. And this is by no fault of the owner or resort, but the entire area had a power outage shortly after we checked in. After traveling all day and being exhausted, we had no where to charge our phones and relax, so we had to drive to the grocery area and spend time there. Management kind of just brushed us off and said “nothing that we can do about it and you will just have to wait”. Which is true, but I found the communication to be in poor taste to travelers who aren’t familiar with the area and do not know what to expect.
Overall, this unit is a good place for 4 people to stay. The location is wonderful. With a few updates, this place would be great.

Sugar Beach Resort is a wonderfully located and FUN place to stay! Our condo had the perfect view of the sky and sun and the ocean and the beach! The very clean condo was fully equipped with just about anything you would need. The bed was comfy, the bathroom was great, and having a washer/dryer (with detergent included!) was the cherry on top. Joan was a wonderful host who was very kind and responsive to any questions, and the resort staff was great! If you would like to make memories in an oceanfront unit in Maui, this is the one to book! Enjoy!

This place was perfect for our family of 4. Great proximity to all parts of the island. Corner ground floor unit provided an easy walk to the beach or pool. Super quiet as well, no loud neighbors whatsoever. Would definitely stay here again. Beach towels, chairs, umbrella were provided. A boogie board would be a great addition!

I snorkeled in the beach outside the condo and it was fantastic! Swimming with turtles every time. I would advise to have water shoes or snorkel right away so as to avoid cutting your feet on the coral.

my husband and I spend time on Maui 3 to 4 times a year since it is such a quick trip from LA… We have stayed at many properties on the island and this is by far our new favorite. The amenities are great, the property is so clean and well-maintained. Plus, the location is fabulous as you can walk right out to the beach from the lanai. will definitely stay here again!

The property was extremely clean. The view and proximity to the ocean is amazing and we loved being next to the pool as well. The air conditioner is a bit tricky but once we figured out that the back door had to be closed just right it was great! We loved that there were pool towels, beach chairs and an umbrella available for use! We loved our stay and hopefully will be back soon!

We returned with our baby and enjoyed the property just as much as we did previously. The location is so wonderful being on ground level. Joan was a great host and even left us with baby laundry detergent which was a very thoughtful touch.

This Unit at Sugar Beach Resort was THE perfect place for us. It is exactly as described. It has an unobstructed view of the ocean with a quiet and seemingly private beach. Be sure to wear protective footwear in the water as it is deceptively uneven and rocky as you wade out. We were able to see whales in the distance from the lanai. If you want a mellow and beautiful Hawaiian Beach experience, the Sugar Beach Resort is the place to be. The unit is close to the pool, the grills, and the walkway to the beach.
The unit is well-equipped. There are beach towels, beach chairs, and a boogie board. The kitchen has everything necessary for preparing meals. The king sized bed is extremely comfortable. There are plenty of towels for showers.
The location is ideal…an easy drive to the airport, to Kihei, or to Lahaina. It’s far enough away from lots of activity and convenient enough to get to restaurants and shops without stress.

This was the first time staying in Kihei. Great location, close to stores and easy to find. The condo building is located in a quiet spot. Which makes it perfect for watching whales and turtles! We enjoyed our short stay, wish we had more time to visit the beautiful island. The property was quiet and peaceful. Loved hearing the tide coming in during the evening. The only issue was the water running nonstop in the shower. I love the sound of water running but that may get expensive.

We stayed in unit 114 and was amazed that it had everything we could ask for. It was a ground floor unit overlooking the ocean and 20 feet from the sand. We could laze on the balcony or use the provided deck chairs and sit on the beach. The house pool was also 20 feet away. Beach towels were provided.
The unit was well equipped with all the cooking utensils and condiments you would need. The bedding was very comfortable, even the fold out sofa, with quality bedding.

It has everything you need, full kitchen, dishwasher, coffee maker, utensils, washer and dryer, the tv is a smart tv, and once you step out on that patio, the beautiful ocean! We loved staying at this home. The location right on the water was idyllic and proximity to the pool and barbecues a huge plus. Every morning we took walks on the beach and prepared breakfast in the full kitchen. The location is great and allowed for us to easily get around the island and see the sites. Would certainly stay here again!

Great property! I love the small grassy area between the lanai and the beach. The beach is just a few steps away and the view of the ocean from the lanai is spectacular! Living space is comfortable and clean. I will stay here again!

The listing is accurate. Anything and everything we needed was there, including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion. There was a cooler, boogie boards, etc. We had a little trouble getting the a/c working the first night, but someone in the office suggested to pull the curtain away from the sensor and that did the trick! If I had to complain about something, it would be the bed, it does have some sagging, but we just moved the pillows to the other end of the bed at the feet and slept that way. No other complaints - we'd stay again! :)

This is a beautifull spot, the view from the sliding glass door is amazing and the Sandy beach is just steps away. It is well stocked with anything that you would need. The bed is Super comfortable! We loved everything about our stay here.

As others have noted, the location of the condo within Sugar Beach Resort is premium and is not to be overlooked. It’s a fairly big resort, and access to the pool, grill area, and parking lot could take a few minutes. Because the condo is ground floor on the end of the building closest to the pool and grill, we were able to pop back and forth quickly and easily and frequently. For example when grilling I was able to multitask really easily, going back and forth to the condo about 4 times. Want to make another drink for the pool? Back at the condo in 30 seconds. Due to the layout of the building, it’s also very convenient to the parking lot, which we also used quite a bit.
All of this said, the best part is of course the drop dead gorgeous views! The condo itself is very nicely decorated and furnished - appears to have been recently updated. The listing doesn’t mention beach gear, but there were several sets of snorkels/masks, boogie boards, beach chairs, a big rolling cooler, and an umbrella I think. We loved it and would stay here again in a heartbeat!

We really enjoyed our honeymoon stay in Kihei! We loved being able to just walk out the door right onto the beach. It was amazing to hear the sounds of the ocean as we slept. Everything was clean and spacious. There was beach equipment to borrow as well!

We loved how it was literally steps away from Sugar Beach. The pool was just around the corner of the unit. One disadvantage was the walkability. There was only one restaurant close by (on premises). For anything else, you needed to drive highway into Kihei.

We loved staying on the ground floor! We could walk steps to the beach and the view was amazing! Sunsets right in front of you! The pool and grills were also steps from the lanai and were very well maintained. The beach was beautiful and although you can not tell from the pictures beyond the hedges it has plenty of sand to pitch a tent or chairs. Laundry is a nice plus and when we were there had detergent and dryer sheets. Kitchen was well stocked with with cooking supplies. Chairs, umbrellas beach towels, bags, and other beach supplies are in the bedroom closet. My favorite was laying in bed and listening to the waves roll in all night long!!

We had a short stay on Maui and found this condo to be the perfect location for us. We loved that we could hear the waves from every room in the condo. We walked right outside the property to a sandy, beautiful beach that was perfect for swimming and walking. It was also very easy access to Kihei. Overall wonderful place to stay. Close to everything. Peaceful and probably the best location of the entire hotel. Walk from room to water literally in 30 seconds. pleasant view. Had an issue with sink drain slowly draining and a handyman came as soon as possible to fix the issue. Perfect for Kihei. location has easy access to roads to all directions. I definitely would come back here especially if you have an event at the Sugar Event, Its literally a 3-4 minute walk from the room. less than 30 second drive in a car. Tuxedo rental, activities booking, bar & food, pool & main office are all 30- 45 seconds or less away. Great place!

If you’re deciding between this place and another - pick this one, you won’t be disappointed! The room is clean and decorated in a perfect, relaxed Hawaiian feel. The view from the Lanai is beautiful and you are so close to the beach and pool. This condo is on par with high end resort rooms but at a fraction of the cost. I’m recommending this place to everyone!!

This property exceeded my expectations. It is unbelievably beautiful, condo is well maintained. We had kids so it was AWESOME that the condo already had boogey boards, beach chairs and towels. It saved us a bunch of money having to rent or buy, so that was an unexpected bonus. Parking is easy. Beach is quiet and clean. Proximatey to pool is right next door. I can't say enough good things about this property!!!
Right when I walked up the front door and hallway seemed a little dated, I was worried. Then I opened the door and it was just as pictured. Remodeled and beautiful views!

Great condo just 40 steps from the sand. The AC didn’t work for 2 days but opening the front door and lanai doors gave a great cross breeze. Joan was in contact with us about the issue and checked in often. You will need to supply your own toilet paper and garbage bags after a few days. Extra beach gear was useful. Very north end of Kihei away from “town” but easy drives to all major shopping, snorkeling and dining. Would definitely rent again!

The location is perfect. The condo was nice. Only comment is the air conditioning did not work as well as we would have liked. It often was 78 degrees or more with air conditioning on. At night time it made it very uncomfortable to sleep. Otherwise, it is great place to stay.
