We loved the view from the balcony. The space was perfect for the two of us. It was nice that you could easily drive to shops and restaurants in Kihei. We would stay here again.

Check-in was simple, with clear instructions emailed ahead of time. The living space and kitchen were the highlight of the condo and where the most remodeling work went into. Comfortable bed that was separated out from the living space which gave my wife time to rest when I was awake. Like other guests have mentioned there are some touch ups that could be adressed in the bathroom space but nothing bad.
There are 3 snorkel sets there (one is a kids set), beach umbrella and two chairs along with beach towels. There was also a playpen for the under 2 years old crowd.
Overall the location if this rental is perfect as its centrally located from the airport, west Maui and south Maui beaches. If you get the chance take the snorkel gear to La Parouse

This unit has everything and over kill. The host might have thought everything that the guests need to stay here comfortably. Literally you can move in to live here for good. Best host ever.

Accommodations, Ambience and Area were all wonderful. Communication was clear and detailed from reserving to arrival. Would definitely stay here again.
A fresh coat of paint could be beneficial, but would not be a deterrent from staying again.

The management was very responsive and helpful. The location was great, too. Very convenient access to the beach, and very nice views. The only suggestion I have is to provide a better and larger coffee pot. Overall we really enjoyed the place.

We had a very good stay and got used to a little inconveniences like AC which blows off and on without possibility of adjustment. We just think AC was not needed in this state. Better off keeping the balcony doors open. Small TLCs like touch up paint here and there, but overall it was awesome place to spend the vacation. Will be coming back. Oh, registration email kept bouncing back and only after several days I managed to get back from our excursions in time to visit the office personally to receive a parking tag, which no other cars displayed on the dashboard. Parking was not a huge problem, except for really narrow spaces, which we discovered are typically for Maui :) Mahalo for a really nice stay in paradise.

1) Property turned out to be as described but the bathroom could use remodeling. Bathroom area/space is very congested. May be I didn' t pay close attention to all pics prior to booking but personally I feel it was small area so less convenient.
2) It might be normal in Hawaii atmosphere but we saw some bugs in kitchen area so that was little disappointing but as soon as I repored I was provided spray immediately to control/kill bugs.
3)Sliding door from living to balcony needs some work/repair so it smooth and less noisy as you open and close sliding door.
4) Property is located in good location and ocean front condo.

the room was great, has large sliding doors in the bedroom and living room with views of the neighboring condo's, pool area, and clear shot of the ocean (beach is technically hidden behind a hill just before the sand; you can see it in the pics).. room had AC but you could opt to just open the sliding doors for fresh air instead.. property was close enough to the center of kihei so a 5min car ride would put you at many different restaurants.. would definitely book them again.

We loved our stay at this property. We appreciated the quiet complex, great pool and proximity to the beach. We went on beach walks every morning and saw many turtles sleeping on the beach. We had a car and it was a great central location on Maui. We found the unit to be comfortable, very clean and well-equipped. We spent most of our time on the large balcony admiring the stunning view. Management was quick to respond and resolve a minor issue. We would definitely stay here again.

This is a nice apartment with a balcony and a great view. It’s pretty clean, has a nice kitchen with dishes, utensils, and a dishwasher that were very useful. The only things were that the mattress and cover in one of the futons in the living room could be cleaner, and the floor washer and dryers needed some repair!

First trip to Maui. The accommodations were comfortable. The bed was comfortable and plenty of extras were provided. Coffee maker was a little tricky but figured it out. The view was great and sitting on the patio was the best part having coffee and breakfast in the morning. The on-site management office was closed most of the time we were there so we did not do any sort of official check in. The property managers were responsive when I called. We ran into some issues that the owner of the property rectified so we were very pleased. It was so convenient and there were numerous restaurants nearby that we enjoyed especially Da Kitchen. It was an easy starting point to any touring east or west Maui. Overall we felt it was a good value and would recommend to others.

The condo was nice. Not furnished as well as many of our other stays in Maui. Would have been nice to have somewhere to put our clothes rather than having to keep everything in our suitcase for the week. Everything was very clean, and the kitchen was updated nicely. The complex was great and well kept.

This is our 2nd stay at Village by the Sea (different condo). We love the location. The beach is right there. Overall the complex is quiet pool clean, and folks are easy to get along with during your stay. The laundry is 10 steps away. Our condo this time had an awesome view and that coveted shade for part of the day. Definitely worth a top floor view for you and your companion when staying in Kihei.

This is a great condo for a couple and the view and location can’t be beat. The only thing I would change is to maybe have more towels (we had ample bath towels but only had 1 hand towel for two of us for six days), and beach chairs would have been nice (we bought a couple folding chairs and left them there for others). Plus, a decent coffee pot would have been really nice or a French press. Only thing there was one of those tiny little hotel room coffee pots. But overall very much enjoyed the place.

Complete with extra info about Maui which was very helpful . The room was very clean and the kitchen was adequately supplied , they even supplied sun screen in case we forgot ! The owners supplied beach towels and umbrellas and an abundance of toys , lawn games and even a pack and play crib . We noticed extra air mattresses this place was equipped for a family with kids . We were only two and did not need half of all the extras but it would have been nice to have beach chairs as this was the only extra we needed .
We had issues getting the TV to work ,the toaster and a light fixture the manager was right on it , came over and resolved the issues promptly.
The bed was comfortable but the couch / futon and chairs in the living room were not . We love the location of north Kihei and right on the beach !

Very well appointed, clean and good location. The only problem was the bed! My wife and I are average size people and found the bed too soft and lacked support….completely unacceptable. It was necessary for one of us to sleep on the foldout couch for a good part of our visit.

The view pictured in the property listing is spot on - it is beautiful. The unit had what we needed - a place to lay our heads, full kitchen with small appliances, towels, boogie board, and cooler. The only thing I wish the unit had was two beach chairs. Otherwise, it had everything we needed and more. The rental manager was also extremely helpful in getting us our parking pass from the condo office since we couldn’t make it to the office during their limited office hours. Overall, a great experience - would stay here again!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Kauhale Makai #628. The condo looked a bit sparsely decorated when we first walked in, but it grew on us. The kitchen was well stocked and the appliances were better than most that are in rental units. The bed seemed very comfortable. The condo is centrally located but is away from super busy part of Kihei, which we like.

Pros: Great location for exploring the island. Beautiful view from a large balcony. Well-maintained property. Responsive manager. Clean rooms. Kitchen is very well stocked for cooking from cooking oil, flour to sauce/seasoning. A lot of towels, beddings, many beach toys for young kids. Tide pods provided for laundry (2 washers 2 dryers on each floor, use coins or PayRange apps). Tips: Bring/buy your own shampoo/conditioner/body wash/toothbrush/paste.
Cons: Ants in kitchen. Toilet easily clogged (provided plunger is tiny). Beach by the property is not good for swimming. Some building repair/construction noise. Office hours 10-4 pm.

There is some maintenance happening on the facility which is good and really not disruptive or inconvenient. We would stay again and recommend.

My wife and I stayed here while I was on Maui for business. Very clean and well decorated condo. Can't beat the view from this unit. Complex is in a good, central location. Transaction was very easy. We went for a one week vacation to Maui with our 6 yo son, and stayed here. It really is a nice place to stay: very clean, well furnished, upscale appliances that are joy to use, lots of things thoughtfully present (Even an HDMI cable was present, and this is the first time I see such an accessory supplied). The view from the condo is beautiful, we really enjoyed it. There is also an outdoor pool with a hot tub, and our son enjoyed swimming and soaking there. The pool is very clean. The beach is very close, no more than couple minutes of walking.
We also liked the location of condo on the north side of Kihei. It is close to local stores, restaurants, etc., and at the same time it is not far from Lahaina, which is a larger town with lots of tourists activities. Comparing to Wailea or south Kihei, you'll save a good deal of time on a roundtrip to Lahaina.
The owners of the condo are very responsive and are pleasure to deal with, very nice people! All my questions were replied very fast, in a very polite and kind manner, with lots of great suggestions.

This was our first trip to Maui that included our 7 year old daughter. We wanted a place to stay that gave us access to all of Maui's sites and beaches and this property in Kihei was perfect for that. The condo it self was very clean and and provided all that was needed for a wonderful stay. The complex was also well kept and quite making it great for kids and families. I highly recommend this property.

Our stay at your property was good. The condo was as exactly as pictured and described. The unit was clean and fairly well stocked. While there was two beach chairs they are in rough shape and should be replaced. The two beach towels are in great condition but there is only two and they weren't always dry for the next day and you cannot hang them on the Lanai(which I totally agree with. It makes the place look messy). If there was at least two more we would have been able to rotate them. I did have to call the management company for a question regarding the A/C and they were very prompt getting back to me, however I had to make the call from my sisters unit as ours did not have a phone!! I found that a bother as we were there with other family members and not everyone was staying in the same building. Not having a phone made planning tours/outings and restaurant reservations difficult. Also, an info binder for the unit is helpful, include recommendations and full instructions on how A/C works.

The place is located in a good proximity from all the main roads and attractions as well as all great stores, beaches and restaurants. At the same time, the backyard with the pull, bbq place and the beach is very quiet in peaceful.
The bedroom and main room is fashionable, the kitchen and appliances is just as good.
The owner gave us list with very clear instructions on how to use amenities, electronic lock (which is very nice as you do not have to care around another set of keys) and the internet (didn’t have the time to use it a much though as it was soo good outside?).
Also, I enjoyed the conversations and sharing traveling experiences with building’s tenants from many different countries, in the evenings while making the bbq and enjoying the wine.
Definitively will come back.

We stayed at this condo as a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids). Condo is beautiful; clean, nicely decorated, comfortable furniture. the view from the unit is so peaceful -- you see ocean, palm trees and the northern Maui coast.The owners had enough spare sleeping spots so that we were very comfortable with kids in the main room. The parking spot was very convenient to the side door entry to the building, so bringing bags in and out, and coming and going was a breeze.The buildings pool and other facilities (laundry, grills) are very well maintained and the building is very conveniently located to shopping and restaurants (walkable).
The beach directly adjacent to the condo was nice, but there was more of a beach with a few less rocks a very easy & pleasant walk northward (maybe 10 - 15 min). It was so easy to get from the condo to the airport, Costco, and Wailea. We had a wonderful stay and the owners were very considerate and easy to communicate with and made access to the condo simple and convenient. I would recommend this rental to anyone looking for true R&R in Maui!
