My husband, daughter and I had a wonderful experience at the condo! It was spotless, perfectly decorated and the view from the lanai was simply amazing. We were visiting Hawaii for the first time from the East Coast and bringing our daughter to start her college journey on the island. Our 5 night stay here made this such an enjoyable experience as a family as well as the kickoff for us, during the final two days, as empty nesters. Christine was so awesome and answered all our questions quickly. She even shared a few recommendations for car rentals and excursions. We were pleased with every aspect of our stay and will definitely book with Christine again when we return to visit our new college freshman!

The views were incredible and we even caught the fireworks display. Easy walk to the beach (downstairs), to dining or delicious locally made ice cream! The valet service makes parking a breeze (additional cost) - they were fast with great service, even when busy. The condo was as described, in great shape and had everything we needed!

Location, location, location. Everything posted in the VRBO posting is accurate as described but what we didn’t fully appreciate is just how great a location this apartment is in. It’s in close walking distance (5-15 min) of so many excellent restaurants, the beach, shopping and bus transportation and bus tour pickup stops. You can get around easily on The Bus to see so many local attractions. Ilikai’s heated, salt water pool is also a real treat. The owner, Christine, is most gracious and helpful. The kitchen was sufficient so we could cook breakfast and many of our dinner meals and enjoy eating on the lanai with its great view of the ocean and lagoon. We would highly recommend it for those who want a quality location in Waikiki at a reasonable price.

I wish I could attach pictures because it truly was as pictured. My wife and I celebrated our honeymoon this past week here, and while we are sad to be home, we have loads of memories and pictures from Mark and Christine's wonderful condo!
The place was clean as a whistle, views were great. Bed was a bit firm, which we initially were cautious of (we are soft mattress folks), but were shocked at how comfortable it was! There's so much to do in the area, within walking distance. View was great. Porch was clean, everything was clean and updated.
And lastly, Mark and Christine were as responsive as ever, answered a few questions we had almost instantly.
We plan to revisit some day, and probably will be staying here again!

The booking, checkin, checkout and communication was seamless. The apartment was super clean and comfortable. Everything we needed was there to use (kitchen items, umbrellas, beach chairs, etc). The view is excellent and a perfect spot for the Friday night fireworks. I like that this building is at the beginning of Waikiki so it’s a little easier to get in and out of Waikiki without dealing with all the traffic. The only negative thing I can say is it was a little noisy on the weekend. The way the building is positioned, the noise from the lot down below funnels up into the unit…but that’s just an issue with Waikiki.

The room was beautiful, clean, and spacious with an amazing view! I was traveling to Hawaii with my mother who is in her 80s. I wanted some place that would be near everything so she would be able to enjoy Hawaii. I also wanted a place that would be comfortable if she decided to stay in. This place was perfect! The view is amazing. You get a pretty good view of the Friday night fireworks. The suite has been updated beautifully. The cupboards are very well stocked with dishes. The only thing we found challenging was that there was no room for food because there’s so many dishes. If you decide on this property you won’t be disappointed.

This condo is the perfect location for anything you want to do on the island....beach just a 5 minute walk, you can view the Friday night fireworks from the balcony, close to fishing, hiking, walking, shopping, dining, etc etc. The condo is equipped with kitchen items if you feel like cooking and a full size fridge is the best, also an in room safe to use. Christine was so easy to communicate with and extremely helpful, she even allowed us to check in 2 hours early as our flight was early so we didn't have to drive around with luggage in the car! We highly recommend this condo and would stay here again!!

Pretty noisy and crowded for this area. Oven needs to be repaired. Not able to use the number 3 on it. No dishwasher and laundry costs 4 per wash and dry Parking Valet is 35 per day not 26 as mentioned in description.

This vacation could not have been better. The views from the porch were unbelievable and the place was very clean and organized with labels and it was very super comfortable. The beach is only about a 5 minute walk, and several great places to eat and a very large mall were also within walking distance. Will definitely try to stay here again!!

Our previous visits having been excellent, we returned to 1916 this year. We really do appreciate the cleanliness of the condo upon arrival. One thing we like about this unit is the amount of information provided both before and at the condo. Could not think of a question we had that wasn't answered ahead of time. In the past we have not had any issues. This visit we did. One good thing about the internet router going bad was that we got to meet Mark. The other good thing was how quickly he responded and dealt with this issue.
We have already booked our visit for next year. We will continue to stay in 1916 every time we can.

Listing is as shown, great Oceanview! Small studio condo was perfect for beach access. Valet @$28 a day vs $24 in parking lot behind hotel was worth not having a long walk. Very thoughtful guest leaves some room goodies and provides towels and beach mats. Spectrum appointment was scheduled for wifi issue, but declined. Many instructions made the stay a bit overwhelming but overall great stay for the price. Will stay again.

The location is perfect and the view is outstanding! We enjoyed the lanai and rather than using the AC, we kept the doors open when we were there so we could listen to the ocean- especially nice to fall asleep at night. When leaving, we would close the drapes to keep the room cool.

The property was great I can not recommend it enough. We spent each morning out on the balcony watching the waves come in and all the surfers. The location is great as it is a short walk to some amazing restaurants, including the World Famous Duke’s and Vintage Island Coffee and Shave Ice. We also enjoyed the ice cream shop located on the first floor almost nightly especially $2 Tuesday’s. The valet service at the hotel was well worth $28 a day as even when they were busy the car came out very quickly.

We really enjoyed our 6 night stay at the Ilikai. It was easy to get to from the airport and location is great for walking the beach. We didn’t need a car rental, found everything we needed within walking distance. The kitchen is very well stocked for cooking needs. Condo is very clean, bed and pillows comfortable, nice shower.
The view from the balcony was our highlight, enjoyed many evenings watching the lagoon, ocean, surfers and sailboats. Communication was excellent with Mark. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend staying at this property!

We stayed in Mark and Christine's condo for our 25th anniversary celebration. I had done a ton of research before finally selecting this condo and it was everything we hoped for. The Ilikai is a nice building in a great location. It is right next door to the Hilton Hawaiian Village and it was great being able to take advantage of all of their amenities (beachside restaurants, use of the lagoon, and we even watched part of the luau from the lagoon). The condo was clean and had everything we needed - big comfy bed, spacious lanai with a gorgeous view, and it was very quiet on the 19th floor. The only negative I can think of is that I would have loved for beach chairs and an umbrella to be provided, but we were able to rent them from a rental place on the beach so that wasn't a big deal. It was a perfect vacation and we were thrilled with this condo. Highly recommend. Thank you, Mark and Christine!

The location of this VRBO in the Ilikai Hotel was fantastic! Took surfing lessons just steps away from the condo. Waikiki Tour bus picked us up just a few feet from hotel entrance to tour Pearl Harbor. Many shops and activities walking distance away. Could not have had a better experience! Mahlo!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ilikai. The view was amazing and the condo had everything we needed. We were moving our daughter to UH Manoa, so she slept the 1st couple of nights on the futon. It’s ok for 1 person, but pretty firm.
The hotel amenities were great (pool, shops, etc.), but it should be noted that restaurant was closed and outdoor bar only open Thurs - Sunday due to covid. I would recommend planning your dinners ahead with reservations (especially on weekends) as staffing at most places is light this summer.
We were a little concerned about parking as we did have a rental car, but the parking service was worth the extra money. We paid ahead on the 1st day for the week. It was so convenient and the staff was very professional and efficient.
Trip highlights - we highly recommend snorkeling at Hanauma Bay Wed-Sun with 2 day advance reservations and Climb Works zip line on North Shore.

My wife and I recently spent at amazing 10 days at this beautiful and well equipped condo. The owners took the time to promptly answer every question and concern we asked, thank you Mark and Christine. The residence was very nice, clean, and was stocked with all of the kitchen utensils and beach gear that we needed during our stay there as we celebrated our wedding and honeymoon. The staff at the Ilikai were also very helpful with whatever we asked of them. Located at the west end of Waikiki Beach, the area offers plenty to do, beach, shopping, and restaurants all within walking distance. The views of the ocean and Diamond Head were amazing from the lanai. We had an amazing and unforgettable time and look forward to the opportunity to return to this beautiful area again in the future.

Not my first stay at the iconic Ilikai but definitely one of my best. The suite was perfect in every way. We had one of our best Waikiki stays here and will definitely try and rent this suite again. The view of the ocean and the lagoon are fantastic. If this is your first stay in Waikiki you couldn't ask for a better more central location. The fact that every tour operator picks up right infront of the Ilikai is a big bonus not to mention the proximity to Ala Moana Mall and walking distance to everything. Mahalo! The lagoon and ocean view from the balcony was magnificent. There was plenty of room for us and our luggage, the kitchen was well presented and useful, the bathroom facilities were first class, the free wifi was a godsend for us to be able to communicate with our family back home. We also loved the big screen TV.
Even though we were staying in an owner condo, the Ilikai staff were more than helpful. We were able to store our luggage before checking in and out. An onsite shop was handy for supplies and dining was easy.
The location of the Ilikai was a Goldilocks location – not too far from Waikiki but not too close, just right. In fact when we booked tours, the Ilikai was always the first pick up and also the first drop off which was great. Taxis were readily available and $10 got you to the Ala Moana Shopping Centre as well as the centre of Waikiki.
Mark and Christine were the perfect hosts. They were very helpful and provided a lot of good advice when needed. If I had a question it was a simple matter of sending an email and there would always be a prompt reply.
Our first experience in Hawaii is one that we will remember for a long time and if we ever come back to Hawaii we would be more than happy to stay at Mark and Christine’s unit again.

The building is quiet , although on occasion could hear an infant and a woman crying thru the neighboring wall. Pool was closed but there was a wading/sunbathing pool which was convenient. The Lanai was more than perfect, with beautiful view. Added bonus?.... there was a luau staged on the roof of the neighboring property every evening, which we could enjoy. Close to shopping. Staff at the property were helpful with local info and schedules. Easy access to buses/trollies/shuttle service and car rental. Thank you. Will recommend and would stay again. Email of notice of deposit refund was rapid.
