We did not know what to expect but our experience was amazing. The grounds are maintained like a golf course green. The views from the balcony and the grounds themselves of islands, ocean and absolutely spectacular Hawaiian sunsets are worth the price alone. The room was clean and having the kitchenette for us was great. The condo owners were easy to contact and helped make this trip wonderful. We got married the week we were there and this place offers some of the most amazing picture oppurtunities of anywhere we have been. It does not offer a sand beach right on the property but there are more beaches than you can possibly need within walking distance. Again, beautiful views, quiet and relaxing compared to hotel properties. We would do this again in a heartbeat. Thank you to the Bland’s

Unfortunately we didn't get to make our trip to this beautiful property due to the Maui fire, but we want to express our deepest appreciation to the owners as they made a stressful unfortunate unforseen event less stressful. We turned on the news the day before we were scheduled for our 5 day vacation to find that Maui was on fire and although it wasnt in the area where we were staying the owners were quick to call us and without any hesitation they IMMEDIATELY refunded our money. We will definitely stay at this property at a later time as they are kind and considerate. We give them a 5 star rating. Thank you once again!

And I mean WOW!!! While WOW is an understatement!! This was our first trip to the islands. And let me just say… Steve and Connie made it AMAZING.
Both my wife and myself read through the previous reviews… and I can say this… we echo the comments of it being incredible. There was one review about it being “motel-esque”. If your goal is to come to the islands and stay in your room majority of your trip… this is not for you. Steve and Connie’s condo is perfect for a couple (even a family of 3-4). This condo came with EVERYTHING and more. They made this VRBO complete and fun. From beach towels and snorkeling gear to a cooler and beach chairs for the day or evening. The best part of this rental… was working with Steve and Connie. They were always available to make sure everything was better than okay.
As for the scenery… this condo is located 5 min south of the tourist area… so its QUIET!! Now if waking to roasters, birds, palm branches chatting, and the ocean waves would bother you.. don’t come here!! 😎
The morning walks with the sunrise and ocean waves (and of course coffee in hand) was so relaxing. Laying on the beach (1-2 min walk from the condo) in the afternoon (and of course with a glass of wine) was incredible. And finally… pool time, grill time, and partaking in the sunset ritual every evening was PRICELESS!! The conch shells blowing up and down the beach line and the orange, red, and green colors of the sun setting… lets just say.. WOW!!

My wife and I are retired. This unit was perfect for us. We've rented VRBO's in Canada, the US, and Europe and Steve was the best host we've dealt with. So helpful, informative, and quick to respond.
The unit was clean and very well equipped with modern appliances and furniture. The king size bed was very cozy. The view from the lanai was fantastic overlooking a huge green space with palm trees, the pool and the ocean. The sound of the waves hitting the shore was music all day and soothing at night. Steve's unit is angled perfectly so the sun lights up the edge of the lanai through the day but doesn't blare straight into the unit. It never gets too hot. Windows at the back of the unit allow a cool breeze through the unit either from the ocean, or down from the mountains all day and night.
Kihei Surf is meticulously maintained with friendly and helpful staff. Keawakapu beach is just a few steps away and has excellent snorkeling and miles of beautiful uncrowded sandy beach. So many turtles. This area of Kihei is past the very busy beaches and streets of Kameole beaches1, 2, and 3. Very quiet. No road noise. Easy access to the many wonderful and uncrowded beaches in Wailea.
We found groceries etc on Maui to be incredibly expensive. Upon arrival, stock up in Costco for the best prices on Maui. Note they don't take Mastercard. Get a Safeway customer card to access their discounts.
Next time in Maui, we'd love to stay there again! Thanks Steve!

Surfside is situated in a prime spot in Kihei, close to Wailea. Not on a sandy beach, but only a couple of hundred yards around the corner. The unique thing about Surfside is the enormous and immaculate grass area right outside the building. We enjoyed our 5 days there and the owner, Steve was very prompt in responding to our pairing hooking up with his Marshall sound system. He got hold of Dan, the property manager, who fixed the problem immediately. The apartment is quite small and could do with some upgrades, refreshing and replenishment of some kitchen utensils. This property was close to everything you needed. The beach was a 5 minute walk and a 10 minute drive to all the food places down S. Kihei Road. We frequented the deli across the way every morning for their breakfast sandwich which was delicious. The place was also very clean and had most of the things we needed such as laundry detergent, Netflix, Wifi, coffee maker…
The sunset is also amazing from this place!

This experience exceeded my expectations. The view and atmosphere are breath taking, everything was very clean and well maintained. The property manager was a delight and the host responded within the hour when I had questions, also very friendly. I would not recommend if there are more than 2 guests due to small living space and 1 bathroom but it is perfect for 2 people.

We found the property to be clean and well equipped. However, the furnishing was a bit dated and it shows in the house, from bed frames, faucets to refrigerators. It was sad to see that even the toilet papers were of really inferior quality. The resort property itself feels undermaintaned and old, with a weird motel-esque vibe. Because of all of this, I would rate this property not more than 3 stars and not expect much from it.
But I am giving an additional 1 star for the absolutely gorgeous views from the living room. The views are just amazing. Lanai and proximity to the beach are just wonderful. You can just relax and enjoy the beautiful sunsets from your balcony or from the garden below.

A nicely maintained unit with one of the nicest views in Maui. Yes, it is busy and , at times, the pool overview and early morning calls of resident roosters are a part of the ambience. For us, it brings a vibrancy and color to a holiday experience. The unit is clean, well equipped and in the heart of what Kihei offers. The owners were just great in proving quick responses to our inquiries. We highly recommend this Unit and, hopefully we can return again next year!!

Wonderful stay at a beautiful oceanfront property! Lanai is perfect for sunsets and kitchen is fully stocked with all of the dishes and accessories you'll need if you want to cook any meals. As others have noted, there is no air conditioning (none of the units have it) but there are multiple windows and screen doors that open and fans in the bedroom to cool it down to sleep. Communication with the owners was great, always available by email or phone if necessary. The furniture was a bit uncomfortable inside the unit, but by no means a deal breaker for us as we were usually sightseeing, in the pool, or on the lanai watching sunset. Highly recommend!

The Kihei Surfside is a perfect location for easy access by the #10 bus to the Wailea beach and shops (7mins) or in the opposite direction, to fantastic fish tacos at Coconuts. Monkeypod’s mai tais are a short Uber away. Thank you wonderful manager Dan for the bus tip and info on snorkeling rental next door. The buses run on time to the minute and the stop is at the entrance to the parking lot. We purchased our groceries at Island Gourmet Market in the Wailea Shops. Thank you Steve and Connie for your prompt communication and your condo was just as advertised. We loved our stay!!

Very nice older condo/apartment that has been remodeled. Comfortable king size bed and large sofa bed. Great location on the outskirts of Wailea. Great beaches within easy walking distance. It's fine for a couple but a little cramped for 3 adults (our adult daughter was with us). We had a couple of minor issues that came up and the owner was extremely responsive in having them taken care of them in a very timely manner. We can't thank him enough for having the Maui chocolates sent to us after we had forgotten them!

The view is fine and the unit comfortable. Being on the second floor we were aware of the noise of our neighbors below us as their group spilled out onto the grass. Also, the pool is nearby which can get noisy. We were not aware of the elevator, however, so that was a plus. Lastly, there seemed to be many people with dogs in the grassy area. We didn’t appreciate a dog peeing and pooping next to our chaise lounges as we enjoyed the sun.

What a great place for us to experience Maui for the first time. The condo was perfect! Walking distance to parks, shopping, restaurants and right next to a beautiful beach. The beach chairs, umbrella, and cooler were a real plus for beach days. The condo was well stocked and the property well maintained. Just a heads up that with Covid restrictions you will need to take personal toiletries like soap, shampoo, etc. Steve and Dan(front desk) was very responsive in getting internet issues resolved. Hope to return next year!

We have been to Maui several times now and this was our favourite stay. Accommodations are getting more expensive all the time, but comparably this was good value for an Oceanside spot. Clean, comfortable and quiet. The unit had everything we needed

My husband and enjoyed this location for our honeymoon. Convenient location near the beach and easy drive to Wailea and Kihei. Beautiful view from the lanai. We appreciated that there were towels and chairs for the beach. Our only negatives were that it was warm in the room without AC and also there was no coffee for us to enjoy on the lanai with that beautiful view.
Otherwise we enjoyed our stay. Very easy communication with the host.

We absolutely loved the location and all the information provided with beach and restaurant recommendations! We weren’t sure how it was going to be without AC, but we were comfortable at night with the fans running and windows open. The only negatives are listed below which I’ve provided to the owners (hopefully they’re addressed soon!).
- the vent fan in the bathroom makes a very loud and annoying noise when it’s on
- the pillows are very thin and we had to stack 2 on top of each other to get comfortable
Overall, we were very happy with the property (especially at the price point relative to the resorts nearby)!

The Vrbo location was wonderful: the beautiful sand beach was wonderful for long walks and amazing snorkeling right out your door (which is why I chose this location). I was able to see turtles, eels, trumpetfish, a wide variety of tropical fish and beautiful urchins and coral in stunningly clear water. We took a tour to Molokini but next time I would skip that and just walk out the door to explore!
The communication with Sara was prefect. She was always accessible (before the trip and during) with any questions and suggestions. The condo itself is wonderful and well equipped in the kitchen and for beach days. The bed is very comfortable and the hideaway sofa is adequate. There is also a laundry which is easy to access. I didn't use the pool (too busy snorkeling!) but it looked inviting. The open areas of grass are nice to lay on and enjoy the sun or the sunsets, which were beautiful.
In the past, I've only stayed in the Lahaina/Kaanapali area when I would come to Maui and never really ventured into Kihei and beyond. But anytime I come back to Maui I will be staying in Kihei because it's quieter and less touristy than Lahaina and Kaanapali and in this condo because the beach is hard to beat and the snorkeling is top notch, especially in the morning.

My wife and I had a week booked in Kaanapali and wanted to extend our stay by starting out in south Maui. I took my time looking and thought this place would be perfect….it was! Beautiful condo for 2. Everything you would need for cooking is here. Loved the beach chairs, umbrella and ice chest provided. The fridge ice maker works well. You’ll love the view from the lanai! I like being on the second floor, easy access from the pool. They do have roosters so my tip would be close the bedroom windows at night. The overhead and standing fan are enough. If anything would make this perfect it would be a TV in the bedroom, but not a deal breaker for us. Also don’t bother going to 5 Palms next door, a waste of money. I would go back to this beautiful condo anytime!!

David and Sara’s condo was very relaxing and had the most beautiful views from the balcony. It is a short walk to Keawakapu beach which was very nice and convenient. Wailea is only 1 mile away, great to stroll through the resorts and have a nice lunch or dinner by the ocean. The pool has been renovated and are currently in the process of putting in new pool furniture and glass fencing. We cannot wait to be back and see the final remodel!

The resort is in an amazing location on one end is a long stretch of beach for all kinds of water activities and long walk. On the other is a trail along a rugged coastline and a bay where green turtles coming up to rest. The trail ended at a beach close to Kihei town with shops and restaurants.
The condo has all the amenities and equipments one needs for a seaside vacation home. Nicely furnished with modern equipped kitchen. Just as the pictures shown.
It did get quite windy in the afternoon most days in the area. But even though it was summer, no air conditioning is needed with the wind and fans. The wind died down before sunset.
The on-site management was very friendly and helpful. The last renters left the safe in the bedroom locked and the staff quickly fixed that.
Sara was wonderful in providing information about the condo and tips in the area. She checked in with us to make sure things are fine.
We had a bit of an issue and Steve was responsive and offered help before we asked for it.
Maybe the thing that would perfect this experience is that we could have a few more rolls of toilet paper to use for a two weeks stay.

Sara and David were wonderful hosts, communicated with us as needed, and were available to answer any questions we had. Even despite the pool construction below the lanai, the view of the west Maui volcano and nearby islands was breathtakingly beautiful (especially at sunset!), and we enjoyed walking along the lawn and shore to beaches and restaurants. We loved our stay here at the Kihei Surfside. Everything was as described. There were beach gear to use which was great to have. Location is perfect for us since we were attending a wedding at the Mana Kai just next door. The construction of the pool area was slightly blocking our view but that didn’t bother us at all. We would love to come back and see the new remodeled pool area. No a/c so I was a little worried but the wind and the cross breeze kept the condo cool. Overall excellent experience.

Very close to the beach, which was great. The unit itself was not clean, nor were the property grounds. There was trash in stairwells, that never got picked up. Also blood in the main hallways, which my son stepped in on the way to the pool. Bathmat had sand from previous visitors Also shower had used bar of soap, from previous visitors, GROSS!

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely condo:) Nothing like Oceanfront!!! There certainly was no need for A/C during our weeks stay, the strong trade winds kept it quite cool in the condo. We found it exceptionally windy over the Island of Maui first part of April this year. Bookings were easy and the owners are very attentive to ones needs. The condo has everything that you need for a beach day, eating in, or relaxing on the grounds. It was a little noisy our first night, after sunset young children were playing soccer under the lights by the shuffle board game. Management must have talked to them about observing their noise level because it was peaceful after that. We would definitely recommend this condo, and hope to book it again when the whales are plentiful.

We love it here! What a great location right beside a beautiful beach that is not to busy (unlike the other beaches we have seen) and right on a major walking path in both directions. The unit is big enough for 2 people with a great view and very well stocked with everything you could need from kitchen needs to beach needs.The owners are great very easy to deal with booking and wonderful that they check and make sure everything is going well.

We would highly recommend this unit! It has been tastefully and thoughtfully remodeled and was in very good shape. It is small but we never found ourselves wishing form more room. We were very pleased with the 'extras' included in the rental - beach chairs, boogie boards, snorkel gear, cooler, beach umbrellas, free Wi-Fi, not to mention a kitchen that has what you need if you choose to cook! The view from the unit was spectacular and we watched the sun set every night. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. There are great walks either way along the ocean. All the big hotels in Wailea are just a beach walk away. There is no A/C, but there is good cross ventilation when the breeze kicks up and the ceiling fans were very effective on the days when it didn't. The owners were very helpful. We felt it was a great value.

What can I say, this place was everything it was advertised & more! The location of Kihei Surfside was great. You can relax on the grass and enjoy the ocean and sun (you can also play shuffleboard, putt on the golf green and other games I can't remember). If you want one of the islands best beaches, it's less than a minute's walk away. This unit is great! Kitchen is remodeled with all the utensils you need. They even have a rice maker. The view from the lanai is great (along with boogie boards, umbrella's and snorkel gear). The King size bed was very comfortable. My fiance and I had a wonderful time and stay at this place again in a heartbeat. Finally, the owners were a pleasure to work with........A+

Aloha! We had a wonderful stay at Kihei Surfside. The condo was immaculate when we arrived. It is very tastefully decorated. The view from our lanai was great. We utilized the common area for watching the sunset and grilling our meals. The location is ideal. Steps away from a beautiful beach that has good snorkeling, close to restaurants, grocery stores and other beaches. The furnishings are upscale. Solid surfaces in kitchen and bath, quality bath towels, and nice appliances. We ate one or two meals in everyday and had everything we needed to prepare them. An added amenity that was extremely nice is the two beach chairs and umbrellas that are there for guests to use. ( Sara and David also have snorkel equipment for use, but we had our own). The owners even gave us a phone call welcoming us to Maui! They have guide books in the unit that were helpful in planning our daily activities, and a binder listing all sorts of information about the area and who to contact in case of problems. We would (and already have) recommend this unit to others going to Maui. Mahalo!

Great Condo! Location Location Location!! This is condo is right next door to one of our favorite places to eat in Maui, 5 Palms Restaurant. We sat outside watching the beautiful sunset to be surprised by a pod of dolphins parading by! The owners are very approachable and everything you think you need is there. Extra towels, beach towels, snorkel gear, and even a cooler!!! Definitely took the boogie board out for a spin after morning snorkeling adventures. For those worried about AC, you won't miss it! the condo gets a wonderful ocean breeze from the lanai. The condo is exactly like the photos and nicely decorated with nice pictures from la Perouse Bay. The pillows and bed are very comfortable (nice to my back after hiking Waihe'e Ridge Trail) . Overall, my wife and I had a great stay and will definitely look out for this condo again next time. Enjoy!
