Koa Resort Unit 5A was exceptional & exceeded all our expectations. It was perfect for families especially those with small children (we had a 1 year old and a 1-1/2 year old); Not only was there beach & pool equipment for adults but ALSO toys, life jackets, high chairs, & safety gates for little ones as well. The car was a huge plus - a roomy Suburban, and the location of the unit with a lovely big grassy area in front of the lanai & across from the pool made it ideal for families. Check-in was easy and the owners very accessible if questions. In all it was holiday perfection!!!

The location was perfect and the resort is very nice! We enjoyed the pool, hot tub & shuffle board.
The use of the vehicle was truly a value added bonus along with the beach chairs, masks, fins, towels, ice chests and very well equipped kitchen!
We all agreed the beds were very comfortable! We loved the large dining table, so we could all spread out to catch up on a few necessary biz emails but mostly for games & lots of laughing!

From the number of beds to the large table and roomy kitchen, the condo was spacious enough for us. It was great having the huge grassy area for the kids, they could just go out the back door and run around.
The Suburban came in handy as we were able to load it up and head to the beach! We also rented 2 cars and were able to park them in the condo lot.
Yolanda went above and beyond being available when I had questions for her.

This property was great for our large family. Steps to the pool area, and a quick walk across the street and your on the beach. They provide everything that you can think of. The only negative for our family was the lack of cozy bedding. We would definitely stay here again!

This location was wonderful for our needs. We were bringing together family from Australia and Canada. The property was great. Grandkids loved the large pool; right outside the backdoor of this unit. The grounds are open and comfortable. Overall A+ for the property.
The unit was large and easily accommodated our group of nine. Very well-equipped kitchen (appliances are newer); all the toys for outdoor activities, etc. No complaints on this count. However, it is an older unit; the interior does not have that modern light, bright and airy torpical look.
The host, Yolanda, was very responsive to our communications. The only difficulty we experienced was arriving late at night and having difficulty finding this unit. Suggestion: include a map of the property in the welcome information package.
Overall, when we return to Maui we would rent this property again. Pluses far outweigh the negatives for our group.

We know it’s a damp area, but replacing the calking periodically would be more appealing. Really? Black Mold? (We don’t know)

Yolanda was the perfect host. Great place.. and everything you could want. Tons of beach gear, floats, noodles, beach chairs , a wagon and towels. If you have babies (we didn’t) it seems you would be set. The beds are comfy, the pool and jacuzzi were really nice and they had 2 tennis courts which we used every day. This was an amazing location too. About 15-40 minutes from anywhere you want to go.
Perfect family retreat. Great host. Amazing island. What else could you want? We 100% recommend Yolanda’s place.

What can I say, Yolanda thought of absolutely everything we could possible need in a rental place. Right down to flash lights and cupcake pans :). We spent two weeks here and the weather may not have been the greatest but there was lots to do for our kids and grandchildren. Between Puzzle's, games, fuzzballs, Tennis, shuffle board, to name a few things that were available for those uglier days. Pool was refreshing on the hotter days and thank goodness for the washer and dryer as it was being used every day. There was 9 of us and lots of space for getting together or quite time when needed.
Thank you for everything you did for us and I would definitely recommend your place to anyone who wants to go to Kihei.

Leo & Yolanda were amazing hosts! They were responsive to texts and were very helpful. We LOVED the house. 8 adults and 3 kids all fit wonderfully. The location was perfect for us to be at different beaches each day and not be far from home - there is even a beach within walking distance of the unit.
Pool is close by and grill area was fun for a couple of dinners at home. The appliances in the home are all up to date and the kitchen is set up perfectly to make meals for your large group.

Nicely updated condo roomy enough for 11 family members. Great island location. The fully stocked kitchen with up- to- date appliances, cookware and dishes did not lack any item that was needed to cook for 11 people. Fully stocked paper products and the suburban availability were above and beyond normal condo expectations.
Condo use/ suburban instructions well defined. Owners were immediately responsive to queries and concerns. Split a/c worked well. However, loft bedroom warmer than desired. Highly recommend this comfortable and reliable rental for large families.

The area of the island was great for us. It had a beach across the street, stores and shopping close by, we were pretty much central to going to the other parts of the island and we didn’t have the “tourist” crowds to deal with.
The condo is in a good location with the unit being close to the parking lot and still being a little secluded. The resort and surrounding area has a bunch of things to do if you don’t want to spend every day at the beach or exploring the island. It has the pool, hot tub, tennis courts, and picnic areas on the resort.
The house has all things you would expect with the added bonus of a vehicle to use. It is stocked nicely with beach chairs, water toys, a cooler, towels and a wagon to cart the beach items to the vehicle and the beach. We had two families using the condo and we had enough space to be comfortable.
The owners kept in touch and were responsive when we had a small issue arise. It was a great vacation and good experience with the property.

I read somewhere in the property description that Yolanda's goal was to have everything we would need in the house and she has achieved that! Our family, ages ranging from 84-6, had everything we needed... from cooking supplies, to bedding, to toys, games and beach gear. We especially appreciated the chairs, umbrellas, sand toys, wagon, etc. We also used their suburban- which was great and I feel above and beyond in hospitality- and saved us a bunch of money. We enjoyed coffee every morning on the patio outside and swam in the pool at some point every day. I will reiterate what I read in other posts and found to be true- although near other places, the home felt very private and we were often the only ones in the pool and/or hot tub. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

This is an older unit but is well maintained with some nice updates and excellent appliances and fully equipped with everything you need for a beach vacation and home cooking. Pool is perfect for little ones and is right across the lawn. Loft bedroom doesn't have a mini-split and gets pretty warm but fans are provided. Many great restaurants and food trucks are within a mile or two, as is Safeway. Yolanda and Amy respond immediately to any questions or issues. And the use of the Suburban was such an appreciated addition, especially given how expensive Hawaii car rentals are now.

We had a wonderful time. The property is perfect for large groups. We were three families of 4 and had plenty of space - and there’s a washer and dryer, which is key with young kids. Having use of our hosts’ 8-passenger SUV saved us a ton of money - we only had to rent one car among the three families. Our hosts left us a welcome package consisting of fresh tropical fruit and coffee, and Yolanda was in regular contact to make sure things were going okay. The condo is lovely, with large windows overlooking lush tropical plants and a beautiful communal pool. The location was within an easy drive of everything we wanted to see: the road to Hana, sunrise at Haleakala, a snorkeling trip, and Old Lahaina Luau.

Property was a large multi room condo , it was a perfect match for our 4 families that were with us for a week. The Condo located five minutes from Safeway and 15 minutes to the cleanest most picturesque beaches on Maui. The kitchen was very well equipped as we needed no special items to cook with. The refrigerator was sweet as held up with all aspects of our weeks worth of groceries. Unit washer dryer was handy and the beach chairs, towels and wagon were perfect. The SUV was comfortable and big for the whole clan. We had an extra car but the registration was simple. The resorts pool and hot tub were well maintained and so big it felt like we had the pool to ourselves.

There was a roach problem. We saw lots of them. I understand that with it being warm weather, the insects are bad. Every time, we opened a cabinet, a roach crawled out. We contacted the owner and they said it was going to be spray (the week after we left) which did us no good. The beach across the street was not very nice.

Our initial rental dates had to be changed and Yolanda was very understanding, helpful, and pleasant. Yolanda and Leo were very kind to let us have the Suburban early in the afternoon so we could pick up family at the airport. The rental unit was spacious with a well supplied kitchen. All rooms met the needs of our 11 member family. The pool was wonderful for all ages. We also enjoyed grilling, tennis, ping pong, and Shuffleboard. There are many beach supplies and we were happy to have them for our beach trips. We would definitely recommend Yolanda and this rental.

Check in process was smooth, owner even let us check in a little early. Which was nice considering we had an early flight! The use of the vehicle was really nice (just make sure you fill up the tank 100% full, we did get charged a fee because it wasnt 100% full. Which is fine because this was stated in the contract)
We did have a few mishaps and I appreciate the communication with the owner to resolve any issues we had.
This place also comes fully stocked with beach and snorkel gear!
Definitely recommend for families and large groups. Just make sure you read the the check out process and follow directions accordingly. 😉

The managers, Yolanda & Leo were fantastic! They were very responsive to any questions we had about the property. Check-in and check-out process was simple and smooth. This condo was ideally located in Kihei. Only 15-20 minutes to and from OGG airport, Costco, close to beaches, and restaurants. We had 7 adults and 2 children (ages 2 & 5) and we had plenty of room. The kitchen was fully stocked with various cooking pans and utensils. There were plenty of beach chairs, beach & pool toys for the kids, table games, and cable TV in every room. The pool was basically right out the back patio door. The grounds were also beautiful and it was just relaxing to sit on the patio. We spent many hours at the Kalepolepo Beach which is a short walk. The sand is silky and the water is very calm and only knee deep in most places. It’s protected by a rock wall where we found large sea turtles basking on the rocks or just underwater. We also saw whales breaching in the distance. They put on quite a show! I would recommend this place for families or couples. It also has full size washer and dryer so no need to overpack with clothes. The use of the suburban that came with the unit was invaluable. We did rent an extra vehicle in case people had different plans for the day. We hope to book this condo for future trips to beautiful Maui. Thanks again Yolanda and Leo.

We had a great time on Maui and the condo was a perfect home base. Yolanda was a great host and her home has everything you need! We enjoyed our vacation and the condo had beach chairs, towels, snorkeling equipment, water shoes and sand toys. Bonus: wagon to cart it all around. So nice to not have to bring it all or rent. We stayed for 6 nights at this great little condo - with 14 people total - 3 generations of family! Everyone had a place to sleep and a seat at the huge dining table. The kitchen was super organized and we were really close to both Safeway & Foodland which made cooking at home really easy!
3 full bathrooms and really comfortable beds, PLUS all of the equipment for babies, sand toys, snorkel gear etc. etc. made this the perfect get-a-way for a large family! Great pool & hot tub too... and the clean, uncrowded beach was a perfect 2 minute walk away!

Could not have asked for a better property for our family. We had our son, daughter, son-in- law, his mom, 18 month old grandson. This unit is by far the most outfitted place we have ever stayed. From the washer and dryer, kitchen equipment, spices etc., the fruit/snack basket that was supplied, and the plethora of swim equipment, sand toys, games, high chair and baby pack and play etc. The wagon that is at the condo was so nice to haul our grandson and all the "other" stuff we took to the beach. Both the owner (who happened to be on the island) and the agent were VERY responsive to our every need. Each room has its own AC unit and there were ceiling fans through out. I

There were roaches in the kitchen. (the owner claimed that roaches are part of island living ????) The coffee pot did not work. (The owner provided a $50 starbucks card for 7 adults for 6 days.) The vehicle for renter use was unsafe to drive. (Horn did not work, check engine light, change oil.)

We had a great experience start to Finnish . Communication with host on point! Had a ton of extras ! Amazing pool ! Bathroom showers OMG! Lots of toys and snorkel gear and boogie boards! The truck was a plus as well- we needed to do more research on having it cleaned and washed before we turned in the keys so that was our bad but very convenient and the host worked with us . We have rented other houses for our extended family of 11, but this was our first time in Maui. When we saw this listing on VRBO, we thought that Leo and Yolanda's unit at Koa resort would be perfect for our needs. We were not disappointed. Our three families sharing the unit for 10 days had plenty of space as the unit is very well laid out and takes full advantage of its space.
A table that can seat 12 for meals was a huge plus for our family as we found ourselves cooking at home for breakfast and most dinners.
The unit was in good condition had visible updates compared to others in the complex. The complex itself is nothing too fancy, but the grounds are maintained. The Koa resort is not a large resort, but the pool is actually very big and it never felt crowded despite us being there during spring break.
Something that was a nice bonus was the nine passenger suburban included in the rental. We were allowed to pick-up and drop off the vehicle at the airport which saved us a taxi ride and also a rental during our stay.
In terms of activities, the location is good. It is just outside of the busiest part of Kihei. There is a whale watching beach just across the street, and the more popular beaches are just a short drive away. Our typical day was beach in the morning, back at the resort to use the pool in the afternoon.
We would and have recommended this property to people who have a several families travelling together that all want to stay under one roof.
Our kids keep asking when are we going back? That tell's the whole story doesn't it?

I will have to say, the location is perfect in our opinion. Kihei is central to everything there is to do in Maui and Yolanda was so great to work with. They took such care in helping us have a great trip. The condo is very well maintained and they answered all our questions before arrival and during our trip. Made it super easy to know what we need to bring and what was at the condo. Having the suburban was really a nice perk and the beach is so close. The pool was even better and closer than we thought from the pictures. We thought the value was incredible for the price and would recommend anyone to stay here. We had an amazing trip and con't wait to get back to Maui soon.

We were traveling with a large group and this condo was more than what we could ask for. Located on Kihei Rd., it was so close to all of the action. The beach was right across the street and the pool just yards from the patio. The open floor plan was perfect for entertaining such a big crew and the rooms were very accommodating. The owners were always available to answer any questions and were very kind. The use of their suburban was a life saver!

We took full advantage of everything the house offered....tennis rackets, snorkel gear, big beach towels, high chair, playpen, stroller....We BBQ'd, steamed rice, slow cooked....kitchen was well supplied with dishes and pots and pans, everything was clean and in good working order and it was a stone's throw from the pool and not much further to the beach. We logged a few miles in the Suburban exploring and traveling to and from nearby golf courses. Absolutely recommend this place to anyone; owners were responsive and so helpful!

We had a great time! We had 8 of us and there was lots of room. They have stuff for everything from snorkeling to cooking and even baby stuff. Comfortable for us all. We ALL Enjoyed the Pool and hot tub and the big Family style dinning room. We jogged every morning on the beach just right across the street....a wonderful place to enjoy our Maui vacation!!! I cannot say enough of how wonderful our stay was at this condo.
Very spacious. Plenty of room for a large family or big group. There is a long dining table where we can all sit together and eat or play games. There are 4 large bedrooms. Being on the ground floor and having a sliding door that opens out to lush greenery was beautiful. It was nice to walk out there in the morning and sip some coffee.
The pool is super close too.
The kitchen is well equipped. Brand new appliances, there is even a rice cooker!
There is also a supply cabinet that has beach toys for the kids (like boogie board, sand shovels and buckets, beach chairs, etc) There is also a high chair!
And how convenient was it to have a washer/dryer in our unit too. Love having clean clothes without having to go outside.
The contact people for the unit was conveniently displayed for us in case anything came up if we needed help. But everything was so orderly and equipped that we didn't need them.
Hands down, this was a home away from home. I would definitely stay here again and again and again. Kihei is a great town and close to the beach and grocery stores and shops.
