Family of 4 (with 2 small children) plus grandparents stayed for a week, and it was wonderful! Perfect location right across the lawn from the pool and the beach a few steps further. The sand toys and boogie boards were so nice to have at the condo for our kids, and the water in the lagoon was calm and safe for our kids. Highly recommend this for anyone traveling with small children!

Lovely condo, just steps from parking, the pool, and the beach. Check-in was easy and communication from the owners was prompt and friendly.
My husband and I booked this unit specifically because it was ground floor and near everything as we were hosting my 88 year old father. Little touches throughout the condo show the care the owners put into the place. The unit is clean and nicely furnished and the beds are comfortable. The kitchen has all the basics, is well-equipped and easy to cook in and while it lacks a vegetable peeler, it does have a cast iron skillet which was a welcome surprise!
We really enjoyed the fish pond/lagoon area for swimming and sea turtle viewing, and wandered the beaches on either side of the complex. It was fun to watch the sunrises and sunsets from the rooftop, and there are several bbq grills both by the pool and on the rooftop for a cookout. There's a handy ABC store and farmers market nearby, and everything else you could need (restaurants, groceries, shopping) is easily found in S.Kihei.
For tourism, the Maui Ocean Center and Hui No'eau Visual Arts Center are standouts, but our favorite visit was to the Humpback Whale Sanctuary Visitor Center next door--Suzanne the docent is a brilliant and hilarious educator and we will remember her lessons forever! (If you go, remember 15-15-15.)
We really enjoyed our stay here, it was such a perfect and relaxing visit. We definitely would book this unit again.

Maui is just a dream island! Sandy was a great host and reached out to us after the fires. We are so happy we went. Her place is a great location. We did many things in the area. Our favorite was going to sunrise at the Haleakalā Mountain and the road to Hana. She had everything we could need we loved being on the lower level we loved the sea turtles right on our own back door in Mahalo.

A very relaxing vacation and just what we had hoped. The location is great, just far enough away from Kehei but close to enjoy the amenities. The hosts were very responsive and helpful when needed.
The ocean is walled off providing a great warm pool area for swimming and the turtles love the beach far to the right of the property.
The only drawback is if you wish to be in a place without children this might not be for you. The pool was lovely but also full of children. It's hard to get kids to follow the rules of no diving or yelling. When we had a few moments to ourselves it was so peaceful with the ocean waves crashing behind us.
Overall though a wonderful property. Clean pool right by the ocean, three grills located beside the pool / ocean and a spotlessly clean condo. The condo was just as listed with functioning A/C, full kitchen, etc.
I'd definitely return to this unit in the future!

This was our first visit to Maui and it was the perfect place for our family! Clean, conveniently located, and well stocked. We were able to be on the beach in a matter of a few steps. The view can't be beat! Other than food and drinks and our personal toiletries, we didn't have to buy anything as the condo was very well stocked. We saw sea turtles every single day of our stay! The protected swimming area allowed us to swim any time of day even when the water was rough outside the protected area. Added bonus, we got to meet the owners, Bob and Sande during our stay! They are delightful!

The condo is located right on the beach and many turtles to see in the early morning within walking distance. Great viewing of sunsets from the lanai also. The condo came very well stocked with beach chairs, ice chests, umbrellas, boogie boards, and snorkel gear.
The owners responded right away to fix the one issue we had regarding an appliance that was not working and they came out and fixed the problem in minutes.
Overall it was a great time and great accommodations. We would definitely recommend this place to others.

Our family gathered to celebrate two anniversaries, the Fourth of July and two birthdays. This condo was first class in all respects. Tastefully decorated, BTW. It was so well equipped! We found everything we needed for cooking, cleaning, and playing during our 2-weeks there. No trips to the store for supplies! We used the rooftop bbq’s every night and ate all our meals on the lanai. Such a view! We enjoyed memorable sunsets—and the beach and turtle lagoon were favorite “kid activities.”

This property was in a great location and had fantastic views! The ancient fish pond just down from the property was a plus, we were able to see many sea turtles each morning! Overall the property was clean but the bathrooms could have used a ventilation system, they were a bit musty. There were lots of little gnats all over inside too, but I’m sure that’s the nature of a beach house! I would certainly stay again with the easy check-in process and “extras” (such a beach gear) that were provided at the condo!

We loved the check in process and owners were responsive. You can't beat the property location and its proximity to both beach and the pool. We enjoyed seeing turtles every morning and building sandcastles then heading up the street for shaved ice. The condo was very clean and there was a ton of activity stuff! A lovely pool noodle and floaties, etc., for the pool and sand mats and umbrellas, sand toys, for the beach. So helpful! Lots of kitchen gadgets (and even spices). The guest room ceiling fan wasn't working but luckily there was AC. Can't beat the sunsets.

The complex is well maintained. The unit was clean and comfortable and had A/C. It is in an ideal location within the complex, near the pool and sandy beach. BBQ’s and shuffleboard were also close. A nice view from the lanai. Most of the beach is protected by an ancient fishpond wall which created a breakwater and gentle waves, suitable for toddlers. We saw turtles on the wall everyday, and one on the beach.

A good location for families. We liked being on the ground floor, just steps away to the pool and to the beach (unfortunately the beach was not usable due to recent rains). The unit had everything we needed, a few updates would be nice just to give it a bit of spruce up (older bathtub/peeling of bathroom door), but we would return!

We traveled to Maui to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday, at her request. The condo was exactly as described and suited us perfectly. My mother was able to enjoy wading in the ocean, watching the whales and turtles and the evening sunsets without difficulty. We felt at home and appreciate you sharing your condo with us. From the moment we booked through the effortless checkout this was an unforgettable experience. The property offered everything you could possibly need. All the amenities necessary for daily living are included with the condo. When you travel to Maui the beaches are usually the final destination. They have had all the bases covered here too! Boogie board, snorkeling gear, beach chars, towels. Travel guides and more, Sande and Bob provide an exquisite vacation rental. You won’t be disappointed!

Our family had a wonderful time at this condo! It has a great set up with 2 beds and 2 baths, perfect for us and our three kids ages 2, 4, and 15. The lanai is awesome to be able to go to and from beach and pool. We drank coffee there in the dark until the sun rose since our internal clocks (and young kids) got us up early. The sounds of the ocean and kind staff on the property are a big bonus. The kitchen is well stocked and everything is easily accessible. We also had a cute little gecko in the shower that the kiddos enjoyed finding each day. We’d love to return as soon as possible! Thanks Sande and Bob!

We love the apartment layout and the proximity to the beach and pool. It was also nice waking up and walking to see the turtles in the morning and enjoying a coffee with ocean views. We took some great day trips - road to Hana where we swam in waterfalls, and some food hikes just up north. Would definitely stay again!

This place was awesome!! The check in process was easy and the owners were very responsive with questions. The condo was perfect for our family of 4. We had everything and more we needed for our stay as well. Loved that it was in the ground floor so we could walk right out of the slider onto the beach. We saw sea turtles in the lagoon and the pool was really nice as well. There were great places to eat within a short drive and the place was convenient to all areas of the island. We would stay here again if we come back to Maui!!

Oh. My. Gosh. What an incredible place to stay. The other reviews were not lying. Here are our favorite perks:
*Condo is set up in such a way where the two beds/bath each have their own little hallway. It was so nice to not be constantly walking around each other to get to our spaces.
*For some reason I thought the bbq's were only on the roof lounge area. There are bbq's right by the beach, mere steps from the condo patio doors! The other guests who were bbq'ing at the same time as us were so jealous when they found out how close we were! The staff keeps the bbq's sparkling. I thanked them every morning for keeping the property so beautiful.
*It's two doors down from a water bottle fill station! So stinkin' handy!
*The fish pond beach is FULL of sea turtles. So fun to be able to see them every single day.
*It's right down in Kihei so it's truly a super short drive anywhere you want to go. I'm sure you could walk to plenty of the restaurants but we didn't. Maybe a 15 minute drive to the aquarium, 30 minutes at most to Lahaina, depending on traffic, and 20 minutes to Target/Costco.
*Condo had absolutely everything we needed. Chairs, umbrellas, coolers, you name it. We were very conscious to keep sand out of the condo, so we kept a bucket of water hidden inside the patio with a small towel so we could do a quick rinse after we walked on the beach. Worked like a charm! There's even a car wash hose on the other end of the complex, so after taking pool noodles out snorkeling, we walked them over to the car wash spot to hose them off.
*Trade winds are beautiful. We only turned the AC on a couple of times for a very short window. When we were "home", we opened the kitchen window and the patio doors and a beautiful breeze kept the condo perfectly comfortable.
Would definitely stay here again. Cannot recommend it enough. Location was truly perfect. Thank you for Sande for opening up your condo to us! We made tons of memories and our boys loved being able to experience Maui for the first time!

We had a great stay here. The location was great. Being on the ground floor was perfect - being able to walk right outside steps away from the pool and ocean. We stayed for 2 weeks two weeks with our 6 & 8 year old children. We have stayed at Menehune Shores before, but this was our first time on the ground floor. I’m hooked! The view was great considering it was the first floor and we loved the ability to run back and forth so easily between the lawn, beach and pool. The condo was immaculate, the owners were there within an hour to fix a drain issue, and the beach toy/chair/cooler closet was the best we’ve had in a condo. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We would definitely stay in this unit again.

I’m glad I chose this property since we were traveling with my mother. It’s perfect since it’s on the ground floor. You can walk out of the patio and in 2 minutes you’re on the beach. I would definitely stay here again.

This was our first time staying in Kihei after 30 years of visiting Maui and I’m so glad we did! This location and condo are amazing. Early morning walks on the beach are a special treat with the turtles resting on the rock wall and the private cove to swim and snorkel. Sande and Bob have provided everything needed for a wonderful home away from home. The condo was very fresh and clean and is equipped with almost anything you need for a Hawaiian beach vacation. The sunsets from the beach or the back patio were spectacular. The location is central to almost everything. We really loved our time that we shared and the new memories created in this location. We will definitely be back as soon as we can.

This property was as described on the VRBO App. We had cancelled our trip to HI 4 times last year and were lucky to book this condo. The place was very clean and the view from the lanai and the easy beach access were awesome. The property owner Sande checked in with us at the beginning of the stay and towards the end of the stay, but we did not really need anything other than what was provided.
The place was well equipped with everything needed for a HI holiday. Snorkel gear, beach chairs, boogie boards. beach umbrellas, beach totes, coolers are all provided and in good repair. Both bathrooms had blow dryers. The kitchen was well appointed with a coffee maker, toaster, blender, microwave, and all of the usual cookware and utensils. There was plenty of room in the closets (and hangers) and dressers for all of our clothing. There is an ironing board and iron provided as well.
This was my first time staying in Kihei having stayed in the Lahaina area several times previously and I really enjoyed it. It was much easier getting to and from the Airport and to places upcountry and to the east.
Having a washer/dryer in the unit was great, as was having the option for air conditioning. We did not have to use the air conditioning much, but it was nice to have.
One thing to mention is that this building is very family friendly, and being on the first floor near to the pool and near a large grassy area can get a little noisy during the day (which I personally did not mind) with children playing and a lot of foot traffic nearby. I only mention this for anyone who may want to take that into consideration.
For the most part, the place was pretty quiet, and most people followed the posted quiet hours.
I would definitely stay here again in the future. I had a lovely time as did my friends and my sister.

This is our second time staying at this condo. We Love it. It is super comfortable, has all the things we need, and is in a perfect location. When you first walk in, there is a gorgeous view to greet you of the green lawn and ocean fish pond.
We snorkled a lot and I loved walking south of the condo on the rocky beach each morning. Only issue we had was with two different men when had never seen on our previous visit. One was an older fellow, with long grey beard and hair, in the fish pond who tried to rudely tell us that there weren't many fish in the FISH pond and we should snorkel on the ocean side of it. I have tons of images taken with my underwater camera to prove otherwise from 3 yrs ago and this time but because of him and another guy, my husband chose not to swim in the fish pond for the rest of the week this visit which was sad. The other man was maybe in his 30's, very tan, stabbing around with a stick and standing on the rock wall many days in a row replacing rocks the turtles may have moved. He was very concerned about my swimming near the turtles yet he showed no concern for the micro homes of sea urchins, etc in between the rocks he was physically disturbing each day. I am not sure if they are locals but they did not act like true people of Maui in our 20 years of being visitors of this amazing place. These were our only negative interactions but since the fish pond was a huge draw for us to this place, it was disturbing.
Our friends also liked the location and spent hours in the fish pond enjoying all the colorful fish, anemones, coral, etc. Since one of these was very scared of the ocean, it was perfect for her to not worry about being carried out to sea:)
We ate at Mama's fish house for our Anniversary, hiked pipiwai Trail, did road to Hana, swam in Twin Falls, went on the Maui Princess for a dinner cruise, the same one we did on our honeymoon 20 years ago. We went out to karaoke at Hau's Lifes a Beach, just as we have done each visit for 20 years as well. We love the true people, culture and beauty of Maui, what a heavenly place!
I made jewelry at home in gift bags as Aloha gifts for Maui workers and they were recieved so well! Even the airline attendants were shocked we had gifts for those working so hard for the influx of visitors. It was fun choosing stones to fit the people we met, an added an extra element to our visit.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this perfect condo in Kihei. 2 adults and 2 teenagers and the location could not have been more perfect. The condo was clean, easy to access, STEPS from the beach. We were greeted with a bowl of fresh fruit that we thoroughly enjoyed!
The beach is just the right size. The mornings are quiet and low tide. You can walk all the way to the rock wall and the water is just to your thighs.... just keep the right distance from the MANY turtles. They are so peaceful to have out there everyday to enjoy. The tide comes in for the afternoon and it makes for great snorkeling. With kids afraid of sharkes, etc, the rocked swimming area made this a perfect spot for them to relax and snorkel. There is some beautiful coral. We saw urchins and many beautiful fish along with the turtles.
Sande was so kind and worked with us the whole process, with adding a night at the condo and also helping us with a later check-out which made our last day so much less stressful.
I cannot express enough our thanks for the stay and the great location. If you're looking for a more laid back area, but still close to shops and great restaurants, this is it!! We'll be back!

We loved our time in Kihei. The condo was wonderful and we had everything we needed. The location was amazing. The view from the lanai was perfect. Also, the swimming pool is right outside the condo. Take an early morning stroll to see the sea turtles on the beach. Bob and Sande have been so accommodating and friendly. I can't say enough about how happy we were with our vacation. When we come back in the future, we will stay here again. It was like a home away from home.

We had a wonderful visit to Kihei. The condo was super clean and very centrally located. It was fabulous being on the first floor. We appreciated access to beach chairs, boogie boards, and beach toys. The fishpond out front was great for the kids to swim and filled with sea turtles. We loved snorkeling with the turtles and fish. We found the beach on the right side of the fish pond to be fun for boogie boarding. The beach to the left went on for miles, so we ran along side it every morning. The pool was pretty chilly, so we didn't really use it. All of the beds, including the sofa bed, were very comfortable. The property owners were responsive and delightful to work with! We can't wait to come again.
