Trip of a lifetime for us and this condo couldn’t have been more perfect! It went above and beyond – super clean, killer views, and cozy-chic! Check-in was a breeze, tons of parking, and the place was well-kept. Bonus points for having snorkeling gear, cooler, and beach chairs – made our beach days even more awesome. Perfect location to check out different beaches or grab a bite to eat, but honestly the kitchen had everything for homemade meals too. Kim and Scott are fantastic hosts- easy communication, personable, and kind. We will definitely be back. Totally recommend it!

The one way we would have been more comfortable is if the unit had AC. After the first day of having the condo windows open and the fans on it was not bad, but the first night was hot.

Hale Ono Loa #306 was a fantastic home base for our vacation in Maui. The location was great for visiting several beaches and eating great food. Close to the Kaanapali hotels on the beach, Whaler's Village, and Napili Bay in Kapalua. Loved the view of the ocean and the sound of the waves day and night. Highly recommend!

Their 5-star rating speaks for itself. This place is total perfection. My girlfriend and I were there for a week and were as comfortable as could be. Plenty of space for the two of us, the bed is super comfy and we slept very well. But that balcony/view is something else. We were up every day around 7am and just sat there for an hour or so having coffee and taking it all in (we were able to see turtles from the complex as well). Kim was also amazing by being very communicative from the time we booked all the way through checkout. She also gave us a huge list of recommendations which were all great. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back.

This place was perfect place to unwind at the end of the day of exploring the island. Beautiful views from the lanai of the ocean. As it was during mating season we saw a lot of whales from the property.
There are several great take out restaurants, coffee shop, and grocery stores within walking distance.
We would recommend this to our friends and family looking for a couples getaway.

This Condo had everything we needed for our stay, including a nice ocean view to observe the whales. It is also in our preferred location between Kaanapali and Napili. The Essig's were great hosts. They communicated quickly and well throughout the process. If I had to come up with one thing to pick at it would be that the community pool was a little too cold to comfortably enjoy (February stay). I would recommend it to couples looking for a nice place to enjoy their time on Maui.

A perfect condo for a week long stay in Maui. It looked exactly like the photos, was very well kept, and beautifully decorated for a cozy and welcoming stay. The bed was comfortable and it was quiet at night. Being on an upper floor was nice as well to see the ocean from the balcony- and Kim the owner makes it so easy with all of her recommendations of good spots nearby. We found it quiet and respectful in the building which was lovely- and Kim also had equipment stored like umbrellas, boogie boards and beach chairs as well as snorkel gear! We used the chairs/umbrellas on our first day there to snorkel at nearby Kapalua beach (highly reccomend as its great snorkeilng and only 15min away by car). We were too big for the snorkel gear so rented that (as the sizes there were just on the smaller size for a taller lady as I'm a size 10- but still truly appreciated that it was there). There is also a laundromat in the building, and Kim's storage unit also had laundry detergent there(woohoo!). We ended up not needing to do laundry but its $1.50 per wash load (and dryers are also there for same price I think). It only takes quarters so bring those just in case you need! The parking was easy with a rental car as there's a lot at the condo property so you just put your permit that comes with the condo in the unit. There was always parking for us even when it got more crowded as we were there for new years. Really appreciated how thoughtful Kim's communication was and how much she provided in terms of tips of what to do with the condo binder of things to do/ reccos. Many thanks / Mahalo!

My husband and I stayed at Kim & Scott's Condo for 5 nights. It is located on lower Honokowai rd with many other 3-4 story condo buildings, north of the busy resort area of Kaanapali and about a 10+ min drive to Lahaina. Free parking lot with a pass provided by the hosts. The condo is Oceanfront (no beach), but does have water entry access if you want to swim/snorkel and Honokowai beach/park is just down the road. There is a Times grocery, abc store, food trucks, and restaurants a few min drive. I would recommend The Fish Market, and Miss Arepa's! There is an elevator, good sized clean pool, bbq's, and sundeck for resident use. Everyone seemed to be fairly quiet and respectful of others in the complex. One man blows a conch shell every night at sunset lol. The unit itself was a code-entry unit (no key to lose) with easy check-in instructions provided. It does not have a/c, and tbh I was worried about this - but there is a great cross-breeze, two ceiling fans, and a dyson floor fan which we used in bed and we were completely fine. There was only one night that it rained that the humidity was high and my husband got hot (I was fine...). Plus, I really enjoyed sleeping with the doors open listening to the waves. The Lanai is large and we sat out there a lot. The kitchen is on the small side but has everything you need to cook/bake, and an Ice machine in the freezer (big deal for a water drinker!). TV is large and has a lot of channels. Bed is king-sized, super comfy mattress and pillows!! Bathroom is "open-concept", but toilet and shower are behind a pocket door (just not soundproof if you get my drift). There are two or so coolers (ice packs), chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, snorkel gear, and noodles for use. Kim was in contact with me periodically and was so kind to be flexible with check-in and check-out time which really helped us. If I HAD to make any suggestions as to improve the experience as a VRBO, the ceiling fans might need to be changed as they are quite low for tall ppl (think chopped hands lol) and make creaky noises at high speeds, limiting the use. The other thing would be a second lounger on the lanai (and smaller counter-height table) - We found ourselves fighting for use of the one lounger. Not game changers. However, we really enjoyed our stay with no issues. Felt right at home...Def would recommend to others! Thanks so much!

This condo is nothing short of amazing! My husband and I were celebrating our 5 year anniversary in Hawaii and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The condo was fully equipped with beach and snorkel gear. We loved visiting Airport Beach (Kahekili Beach) which was about a 5 min drive south. This beach has free parking and really great snorkeling! Lots of sand to spread out on so you don’t feel like you’re sitting on top of your neighbor. We also really enjoyed snorkeling or just swimming right in front of the condo. We spent a couple of days just relaxing at the pool and condo - you don’t feel guilty not “exploring” Maui because the views and comforts are so nice right there! I cannot recommend this place enough…book it for your trip before it is filled up!

We really enjoyed our Maui experience at this property where we were looking for a place to relax and unwind. Right on the beach, it has easy access to the water where we went snorkeling with the sea turtles and enjoyed fantastic ocean views. It is within walking distance or a short drive to grocery stores and the resort restaurants/stores. We spent several days of our vacation, just hanging out at the property. It was exactly as it is presented in the VBRO listing and the owner was very attentive and helpful throughout our stay.

I am so happy we booked Kim and Scott's place! From the beginning Kim was very helpful and quick to respond. Of course the day I decided to finally book, vrbo's whole site had crashed. Kim helped me secure the rental until the site was up and running again. It was the perfect getaway for my husband and I to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. Great location within walking distance to a coffee shop (Bad Ass Coffee), farmers market, as well as some beach areas. We rented a car and explored several different beaches all within about 15 minutes of the condo. Our favorite spot to snorkel was Honolua Bay, about 15 minutes north of the condo. We really enjoyed the extra perks of having snorkeling gear, beach chairs, a beach umbrella, boogie boards, and coolers at the condo so we didn't have to rent all of that stuff. Every morning we enjoyed having coffee out on the lanai with a beautiful view. The bed was very comfortable, as many other reviews had stated, and I slept the best I've slept since giving birth to my 1st child, 6 years ago! I was a little worried that there wasn't A/C but it was seriously not an issue at all. We kept the sliding glass doors open every night with just the screen closed and then opened the little windows above the bed to create a nice crosswind. There's also a nice Dyson floor fan that helped circulate the air and keep it cool throughout the day and night. The condo was very clean and cozy. From the sun deck we saw turtles swimming almost everyday. On our last day, just as we were getting ready to check out, we saw dolphins from the lanai! It was the perfect ending to an amazing trip!

The condo was very nice, in a well-maintained property with great views of the ocean. The unit was just the right size for the two of us, and although we didn't cook the kitchen looked pretty well stocked. The bathroom door was kind of squeaky and the fan didn't work, but everything else was fine. The host provided beach towels, beach chairs, an umbrella, boogie boards and snorkel gear - everything you need for the perfect beach vacation.

Beautiful place! The view is sooo wonderful. 3/4 Ocean view. You’re also able to see the pool area and shuffleboard area which is nice. We loved enjoying breakfast and coffee from the balcony every day. It took us 3 days of being there to realize you can see a handful of sea turtles right along the rocks a few yards out! It was so fun watching them every day after that. The place was very clean, and we loved the decor and “look”. Very homey and beachy. Perfect mix. It does get warm inside so at night we opened the bedroom windows, and the balcony doors (shut the screen), and turned the bedroom ceiling fan and dyson floor fan on and it was perfect! I love hearing the waves at night. The only slight con about this place was that there weren’t really shades. There’s the screen for the big sliding balcony doors. But at night you can see in, so that’s where the bedroom sliding wall comes into play. But when the sun comes up, you’ll be woken up (if you’re a light sleeper like I am). But that’s okay since I liked getting an early start to the day. Kim was very responsive and helpful with all questions we had. We already said we’d stay here again if we return to Maui in the future!

My Fiancé and I had an amazing stay at Kim’s condo. The incredible balcony with full sliding glass door and screen provides a true oceanfront feel. We had very good weather and slept with just the screen door closed letting us listen to the ocean all night long. We didn’t use the pool or the oceanfront common space terrace which provided amazing sunset views but they both looked super clean and very inviting. The balcony provided its own incredible sunset views. The location was perfect for us two. We had a rental car which is pretty much a necessity in this area of Maui but the parking was ample and it was only a short drive to the Front St in Lahaina, the beautiful golf courses at Ka’anapali + the Ka’anapli beaches. The best beach we visited however was just a 10 minute walk North of the condo at the Pohaku Beach Park. We visited this beach almost every evening to watch the sunset. It is a tiny little beach where we saw sea turtles every night we visited, local surfers catching a few waves, and lots of other locals just enjoying the beautiful views after a day’s work. If you visit Halo Ono Loa, I highly recommend the short walk. All in all, a fantastic place to retreat and we wish we could have stayed longer. Also Kim was SUPER responsive and she checked in several times before our stay to ensure everything was in order for our stay. She was top notch!

This was a perfect get away for 2 people. The sounds of the ocean waves morning and night were amazing. The condo was just as pictured and had every kitchen gadget & beach item you would need. We loved that it was a non-smoking, no pet complex. It made the vacation very enjoyable. My husband didn't want to leave :) We will be back!

Our overall experience I would say was smooth, relaxing and as expected. Kim could not have been more accommodating, kind and always communicated quickly. The condo itself had all amenities we needed (beach chairs, blankets, wine openers, etc…). We needed to purchase nothing for the condo!
The condo is in a great area. All neighbors I met were always friendly. I ran every morning (lots of runners and walkers every morning). Bad Ass Coffee is a great coffee shop just up the road next to a great farmers market. Has everything you need… fresh fruits, groceries, great breakfast bowls, etc…. To be able to come back every morning and drink your coffee/eat breakfast on the patio and watch the whales off the balcony was a great added experience for us!
The property next door allows you to walk to what they call Rainbow Beach (so 2 properties to the north). You can cut through at the bottom on the sea wall. We went there almost every evening and laid by the sea turtles that beach every evening. Pretty surreal experience!
Overall it’s a great condo and we would book here again in a heartbeat! Thankyou Kim!

You wake up to a view that no picture can capture. There are palm trees, mountains in the distance, and the beautiful ocean. You can prepare your breakfast but make sure you eat on the balcony so you can enjoy the breezes of Maui. During the day you can take the car, make sure you rent one because you are about 40 minutes from the airport, and explore all the Maui has to offer. With beaches and hiking trails near by you will not run out of things to do. If you want to hang around and enjoy your amazing view there is a pool and a sun deck. There are a few places to grab a bite to eat nearby but take a drive to Lahaina and walk around front street. If you want to cook at your place, go to Foodland, buy a few steaks and throw them on the grill. When they are done sit up on the sun deck and watch the spectacular sunset. After that you could sit on your deck and stargaze or watch some tv. When you go to bed make sure you open the windows so you can be lulled to sleep by the waves of the ocean.

We just want to say, MAHALO to Kim and Scott for sharing their beautiful home with us... and especially for being so responsive to each and every question/concern we had before we got to Maui. And when we got there... OMG! The place is just like the pictures. So perfect and the lanai - was more than perfect. We went to sleep and woke up to the sounds of the ocean breeze. Your place truly was a home away from home. I don't think I'll ever book a hotel room ever again unless it's just for a night or 2 stay. Oh, and the book of suggestions to do and see in the area you had on the coffee table was such a big help for this first time Maui visitors. This certainly won't be our last visit... already thinking about our next stay here. I can go on and on about how wonderful your place is... but I'll stop at this - for those who are thinking about booking this place for your Maui visit... just do it! You can't go wrong. My husband and I absolutely loved this property. The location was perfect for us. This was our second time staying in Lahaina and we definitely preferred this property and location, mainly for the unbeatable view, all-day ocean sounds, and it being a more central location between the Front Street restaurant area and the Kapalua-area beaches, which we also prefer. We appreciated the free and ample parking, easy in and out, quiet building and neighbors. As most previous guests expressed, the bed is ridiculously comfortable and the lack of AC had zero impact on the comfortability of our stay. Unfortunately during our stay, the screen door had been removed due to it being broken, but the inability to keep the beautiful sliding doors open at night was not an issue. Because of the location of the property, it is not too hot at night and the ceiling fans were more than sufficient for us. There is also a floor fan if needed. Communication with Kim, prior and during, were excellent. Overall, the property was very clean, with the exception of a visible clump of hair in the shower drain when we arrived. If there was one thing we would have liked, though not a huge deal, it would have been to have Smart TV/Streaming App capabilities (if it was there, we couldn't find it) at least for the few times we were hanging at the property. We would DEFINITELY be down to stay there again. We really loved it.

This condo is exactly how pictured…the views from lanai alone were gorgeous and so relaxing. It’s set up like a studio apartment which is perfect for a couple. Everything is clean and the owners have provided everything for “what if’s” including beach chairs, blankets and umbrellas! Note there isn’t AC but trust me, the breezes are so nice you don’t need it. Convenient location close to stores restaurants and beaches. A very nice upgrade from a regular hotel room. And sunset views every night!!!

This was the perfect place for our stay on Maui. The condo is fully stocked with toiletries, towels,
beach gear and kitchen supplies. We appreciated the cooler and umbrella for our beach days! There are a few more local feeling places nearby to get a bite and coffee. The condo is centrally located so getting down to Lahaina was only a 10 min drive. It is possible to walk to Kaanapali beach from the condo on the boardwalk which was a fun way to spend a day. The views on the balcony are amazing and such a pleasant spot to read, dine, watch the sunset...I would gladly stay here again if I come back to Maui! Hosts were great communicators and had lots of good local tips. Mahalo!!

This was perfect! Waking up to the waves every morning was awesome. Beyond that there was a comfortable breeze throughout the unit. Perfect walking distance for coffee and breakfast! Kim was very attentive in fact I received multiple emails with tips and suggestions. There was so much information in the basket next to the couch with history of the island, things to do and lots of fun reads. We are definitely going to stay there again on our next trip.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for the duration of our Maui trip. We found the unit to be in excellent condition with everything we needed for a 10 day stay. The apartment is updated, clean and comfortable. The complex has a nice pool, and ocean views (Especially at sunset). The patio on the unit has an incredible view, and we found ourselves enjoying breakfast and coffee here often. At night there was a very nice cross breeze which made sleeping easy and cool, the bed was also very comfortable. Waking up with an ocean view and sounds is amazing, we already miss it! Kim was great to contact and made sure that we had everything we needed for our stay! Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Kim's little slice of heaven is lovely and just as described. The breeze in the apartment is TO - DIE - FOR! We loved falling asleep to the trade winds and the sounds of the ocean. The view from the lanai is wonderful and the fact that the lanai is shaded through the day means that we could enjoy that view even in the heat of the afternoon. The lockable screen door is a must and is not available on most apartments. The kitchen was well stocked and we cooked most of our meals "at home". The outdoor goodies (cooler/chairs/umbrellas/boogie boards/etc.) were in great shape. Overall a great stay! (We will be back!)

We hung out at the pool for the majority of one of our days (hanging on a pool noodle provided by the host!), and relaxed on the balcony and other outdoor spaces on the property. You can’t beat the Maui views at this place! Kim was so easy to communicate with too. We loved it and hope to come back eventually.

Staying at Kim and Scott’s property was one of the best decisions we made for our Maui trip. It was so easy to book the place and prior to our trip, Kim always checked on us if we had any questions and if there is anything we need which was really nice of her.
And then upon arriving on the island, Kim made sure that everything was fine too. Their property is really clean and the decors were really cute. It made us feel at home and all of the other things we needed were also available for use - beach towels, beach chairs, coolers etc. There was also a washer and dryer too. The property is right on the beach so at night, we could hear the waves and it was so relaxing. A couple of food trucks were also nearby and it was very convenient. Location is also really good because it was just a few minutes drive to Whaler Village and Lahaina town which both have really good restaurants. It was also really helpful that Kim made recommendations on which places to go to and restaurants to eat at. Overall, we really enjoyed staying at their place as much as we enjoyed exploring Maui. We really enjoyed this condo. The view and location were fantastic! Everything was clean and ready for our arrival. We had breakfast on the lani and listened to ocean waves every night. Alot of great restuarants in the area although you will need to drive to some of them (or Uber). I can't thank Kim enough for all of her guidance and recommendations. I truly appreciated all of her efforts to help us have a great vacation.

Our honeymoon was delayed multiple times due to COVID and we were dying to get to Maui. When we finally did, the rental was everything we hoped for and more. Beautiful scenery, convenient location, all the amenities. The Essigs are wonderful hosts and did everything they could to make our stay amazing. We can't recommend them highly enough!

We arrived late night and when we woke up the next morning, we were wowed by the beautiful view!! Communication and check in were both seamless and location was perfect! The beach and several nice restaurants are within a short drive. We would definitely stay here again.

After a year of no travel, this was the perfect relaxation stay. The condo was cute, clean and had the most amazing view of the ocean! The daily trade winds kept it comfortable even with no AC. Our favorite daily activity was to spot our turtle friends right in front of the building. Kim was proactive and quickly responded to emails. She arranged a late checkout for our last day due to a red-eye flight so we could take our time and enjoy the weat side beaches. We’ll be back!

The condo was spotless clean and communication with Kim was seamless. The view was spectacular and every dinner with sunset views was amazing. There’s no AC but it was breezy and cool. My husband does not like booking places unless there is AC and he was comfortable throughout our stay. No complaints and would love to be back!

We really enjoyed our experience at this condo! Kim is an excellent communicator and made sure we had everything we needed and guided us along the way! It’s very comfortable inside, including the super comfortable bed, king size! Perfect size for two people, we liked using the kitchen to cook most meals. No air conditioning, but honestly it wasn’t needed with the excellent trade winds breeze and ceiling fans. It’s very close to beaches and restaurants, and shopping! It helped make Hawaii more affordable!

We were very pleased with this rental! Amazing views of the ocean from the lanai, nicely updated/remodeled, comfortable bed, included parking spot, and fun neighborhood. No A/C but wasn't needed with great cross-breeze and fans. Communication with owner was excellent - fast, responsive, nice, and happy to offer suggestions and recommendations. We'd gladly go back!

This is a very clean, comfortable condo with everything you might need for your vacation stay on Maui. It's location on the West Side is tucked into a quiet part of the area. The ocean/ island views from the lanai are quite stunning and the ocean sounds from the surf beaking over the reef fronting the property
is a pleasant audio background. The kitchen is fully equipped for preparing meals with the sharpest knives we've seen in a rental unit. The complex is quiet and well maintained. As we own and live in a condominium here on Maui in the Kihei area, and stayed here to save the daily drive to Kapalua to volunteer at the golf tournament, I am speaking from experience when I say you will not be disappointed should you book and stay at this unit.

My husband & I stayed here last week 12/2-12/9/2019). It looks exactly as it does in the photos.....except the photos of the view do not do it justice. It’s not the end condo but the oceanfront view can be seen clearly all the way from the bed & is absolutely spectacular!!! The condo’s owner is super responsive to any questions & was a breeze to work with. I really appreciated not having to deal with remembering to take a key all the time, but instead simply put in a code to unlock the door. Even though all of our excursions were on the other side of the island the drive was beautiful & there was never any real traffic (we.re from LA & are used to much worse). There’s grocery, coffee & plenty of places to eat nearby which were highly rated on YELP (we were hooked on the smoothies at the Farmers Market nearby). This is an exceptional bargain. If I could give this more stars, I would...enjoy your stay,,

We had a great experience staying at this Property. The Condo was clean, well equipped and in a great location. We enjoyed opening the doors on the Lanai and listening to the ocean as we slept. The property has a great screen door that allows you to open the doors but keep any bugs out. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. We loved that the condo was equipped with beach chairs, cooler and the things you need at the beach. The property owner was great to work with and provided great recommendations. We would definitely stay at this property again.
