This is our second stay here and we absolutely love it. My husband wants to make it an annual trip now. We came to Kihei for my daughters birthday and she loved it. It's the perfect central location. It's truly a home away from home. The place is stocked with beach towels, a small cooler, beach chairs and more. My daughter really wanted sand toys and we found some in the closet, no need to purchase any. I noticed snorkeling gear too. Joan and the property management on site are always so accommodating. The view is perfect and so close to the water. We love it here.

We loved our stay! The parking was a little confusing at first. All the spots are labeled as reserved, but it's all actually open parking. Something remedied quickly with a stop into the office to ask. But otherwise the condo was perfect for us! Very clean, loved the balcony, and was well stocked with everything we needed. We particularly appreciated all of the beach gear which included sand toys for my kids. None of us wanted to leave. We would absolutely stay again.

We loved the pool and proximity to beach. The view from the lanai is way better than it seems from the photos too. The checkin/checkout process was smooth and the unit was stocked with plenty of beach amenities. We would stay here again!

Great location! Beautiful views! Very nice room. Only a couple things I would change. Get a hand held shower head. Not very good for y'all people. Also yes you have a cooler but it's so small. Only about 2 sandwiches will fit in it. Would love to see this upgraded a little. Other then those two things everything else was great!yesize

Our family had a great time visiting Maui. This condo was great for our family as it had a pool for the kids, hot tub for adults, giant yard to throw the ball and play frisbee with my boy, and a great walking beach with plenty of sea turtles about. It is 5-10 minute walking distance to the grocery store, shops and restaurants. We loved our stay and would come back in a heartbeat. Thank you Joan for allowing us to enjoy so many good times and make long lasting memories.

We ate almost all our meals on the balcony and loved seeing the sunrise and sunset. On our last day, we saw a giant sea turtle on our daily beach walk. It was the highlight of our unforgettable 30th wedding anniversary trip.

The fourth night in this condo the ceiling began leaking. I put pans down to capture the water to prevent damage to the floor and the rug. For the next four days I had to listen to the constant drip, drip drip…..
I notified the host and the condo maintenance personnel told me that they could do nothing until the rain stopped. The thermostat for the air conditioner was not functioning as well. I notified the host as well and the condo maintenance could not make it functional and said they could send someone out on Monday (my last day) to attempt to repair it. I told them not to bother as that was my last day and I was tired of being bothered by maintenance who was able to fix NOTHING. I requested a partial refund by the owner and she told me “I am not responsible for the rain”. Do yourself a favor and book your Maui vacation some where else. This was a nightmare!!

The unit is both close to restaurants and shops, and also has a beach behind it where we walked in the morning and evening. We saw over two dozen turtles one night come up on the beach! The owner and property management were very responsive and the unit was well equipped. Would definitely stay again.

All in all we enjoyed our stay. First and foremost was the communication with Joan. We had a very minor issue with beach chairs and cooler. Joan was able to get a cooler delivered right away and did her best to get new chairs. From the looks of it, previous renters broke the beach chairs and did not tell Joan about it. Not her fault at all. Joan was very responsive and even checked in to see if the items were delivered. The bed was very comfortable, as was the sleeper sofa which our 17 and 10 year olds slept on. Nice ocean view and the complex was very quite. Very close to a lot of things, so the location could not be beat. My only recommendation would be to have some basic spices, ie salt and pepper for those wanting to cook. The condo was as described.

This is a central located condo in Kihei. Short drive or medium walk to grocery store or food plaza. Beaches in Kihei are a short drive away, but you can also enjoy the beach right in front of the condo.
Checkin process was dead simple. Key code was given to us in advance and parking was straight forward.
Central AC was a huge advantage. Since this is a top floor condo the is a pervasive noise coming from the roof (some sort of fan, but not the unit AC fan). Manageable with earplugs for light sleepers.
Well appointed kitchen and great TV in the living room. We didn’t bother turning on the TV in the bedroom.
Great views of Haleakala and the beach from the nice size lanai.
Plenty of towels for showering and going to the beach. Beach chairs (2) and umbrella were excellent to have. Back of the beach chair has a small insulated compartment for cool drinks. The cooler was great to have but it has seen better days, handle was missing but it still kept stuff cool, just cumbersome to carry around.
Overall a great vacation and a great stay.

Unit well equipped and proximity was ideal to get to other areas of island. Adult son slept in pull out and stated it was comfortable. Appreciate use of beach towels and chairs. Great sunsets. Only suggestion; update parking instructions for people who check in outside of lobby hours. I did call after hours service for clarification regarding parking and they were prompt in their response.

Joan was awesome when I had a couple questions. Location in Kihei is great I thought, the pool/hot tub were nice/clean, bed was so comfortable, a lot of amenities including air conditioning which was a must for us, well stocked kitchen if you choose to cook.
Only downside for us was when we arrived around 11:30pm the property management company hadn’t updated the app with our code to get in the door. It took standing at the door with our things and a couple phone calls to the after hours number.
Overall, we would stay here again.

This apartment was perfect for a getaway! Good amenities, super comfy bed, awesome views, and an accommodating host.
One thing that was missing from previous reviews, which I think is important to share is that there was a constant and sometimes intrusive humming that persists 24/7. At first when we arrived, we thought it was the units AC running, but we switched that off and it turned out it was not the culprit. The first morning coming back from a walk on the beach, we noticed that this unit was one of only a few that had a ventilation/AC compressor located directly above. Normally this wouldn’t be an issue, but since this unit is located on the top floor, that constant humming we heard the night before, and the remaining nights of our stay, came from that machine on the roof. I wouldn’t say it’s a deal breaker, (I would stay here again) but a pair of ear plugs is definitely a must if you’re at all a light sleeper.

The remodeled condo was lovely, clean, and the upgrades are noticeable. Also fantastic to be on the top floor! The balcony is large & does overlook the parking lot along with ocean and mountain. Gigantic grassy area in front of all condo buildings between building and beach/ocean. Your sunset walks will be on grass if not the beach. Quiet building too. Short but great stay!

Loved this place! It had everything we needed and was nice and clean! We used the pull out bed since we had a family of 4 and the mattress was really comfortable! We utilized the beach chairs and umbrella and cooler. It was conveniently located next to some awesome beaches including one you could walk out to. We enjoyed watching the sunrise and sunset each day from the balcony and had views of both the ocean and mountain from the balcony! We also enjoyed the pool and hot tub on the property.

We loved the location, the condo was perfect for our needs, and it has a great view of the ocean. We never heard anything all week from neighbors. Nice quiet area. It had everything we needed for cooking, the bed was very comfortable, and the beach was real close. The sunsets were spectacular from either the beach or the balcony. We have nothing bad at all to say about this place. Highly recommend!!

This was our first time to Maui and we picked this area for its central location, and are happy with that decision! It was so easy to get around. We also loved that it wasn’t as touristy as other neighborhoods in the west and northwest areas of Maui.
This place in particular was very clean and comfortable. I would suggest asking for a map or instructions on how to find the condo, as we arrived late and were wandering around a bit as we tried to find this unit.

Joan’s place was so great! It has a perfect view of the ocean and there were so many amenities we enjoyed. The location worked so well for us, closer to kayaking, snorkeling, and beautiful beaches, and hiking.
Check in process was easy, the place was spotless clean and Joan was super helpful and communicative throughout the stay. The bed is so comfortable we had a nice sleep after long day at the beach. I would book this place when I come back for Maui next time!

My husband and I had a great stay in this condo in Kihei! It was clean and well equipped. It has a lovely view of the neighboring park and the ocean. To the other direction is a wonderful view of Haleakala. I spent a lot of time out on the balcony! Even with the construction going on in the building, it was very quiet with no one above use. The owner was very responsive to our questions and worked diligently to solve an issue (due to construction) that was out of both our control. The unit is located near shopping centers with lots of stores and eateries that were tasty, however S. Kihei Blvd is a busy road so there is traffic noise/sirens. Just good to know, it didn't really bother us. It's easy to walk out to the beach and watch the beautiful sunsets each night as well as the sea turtles popping their heads up out of the water on their daily swim along the coast. Overall, Kihei was a nice central location for our stay in Maui and this unit was clean, cared for, and comfortable with a responsive owner, all a win in my book!

Had a great time in Maui! This condo was fine for my husband and I. Had a great view from the balcony. We used the beach chairs and umbrella (which seemed broken). We were a little confused on how to find the condo in the building at first, some better check-in instructions would be good since the front deck isn’t always open. Overall, would recommend!

The property itself is ideally located, close enough to town (Kihei) but far enough away to be more peaceful. Ideal launching point for adventures anywhere on the island. The unit was exactly as described with great views, sunrise on the walkway and sunset from the lanai. The slight downfall is the ongoing construction and roof repair work being completed but since it is during the day we were away for the majority of it.

The location of this apartment was amazing. However, it was clear that it could use some TLC. There’s obvious water damage in the bedroom. Additionally, there’s little air circulation in the living areas. The only fan is in the bedroom. My experience would have been drastically improved if there was even just a $20 box fan in the living room to circulate air because it was so stifling.

We really enjoyed staying here during our week long stay in Maui. It is located between both mountain ranges so it's easy to get to the entire island. It is located in a small community and has a homey feel instead of commercialized touristy feel! There is a great pool and wonderful hot tub, beach access, large lawn, volleyball court and grills. Parking is assigned so you never have to worry about where to park when you come back.

Parts of the condo were updated and we enjoyed those: new king mattress, updated kitchen; air conditioning worked well, wrap around lanai was lovely.
However, had we known about the rotting, peeling water damaged ceiling in the bedroom that flaked daily, the moldy ceiling repair in the eating area, the moldy shower curtain liner and bathroom/tub in desperate need of a fan and remodel, we would have booked somewhere else. The general cleanliness of doors and walls were sticky and questionable too.
When we contacted Maui Condo and Home about the ceiling they said they would look into repairing it, but that was all we heard.
Also, there were deck and building repairs going on outside in the bbq area which made daytime poolside time very noisy at times. We were not notified of this ahead of time as were other renters.
We love the location and the condo has great potential.

The unit and the building and grounds were all great. The condo itself was as advertised. It was on the top (6th) floor with 2 elevators right outside your door. The owner, Joan, was easy to deal with and very responsive. We walked about 100 yards and were treated to beautiful sunsets each evening. The unit was well equipped and very comfortable for the 2 of us. I would definitely stay there again on my next trip.

This condo was the perfect home base for our stay on Maui. To be honest, we were out hiking, walking, swimming, and snorkeling a lot so we didn't spend too much time inside-though we did eat dinner on the lanai and that was great. The location is very central so it was easy to reach Lahaina & Maalaea Harbors (for snorkeling and other boat tours) and it wasn't too far from Road to Hana and Haleakala Nat'l Park. The condo itself was clean and spacious enough for two. We cooked some meals here and had mostly everything we needed. The condo complex itself looks a little dated from the outside but the amenities inside (pool, laundry, access to beach) were wonderful. The only minor issue is that the hairdryer was broken. We reported it to Joan and she got back to us right away and offered to send a replacement over but the person who she scheduled to bring the new hair dryer never showed up. We let her know and she was going to take care of it. In general, Joan is very responsive to any questions and issues before and after our stay -she was a great host.I would highly recommend this space to someone who wants a central location for exploring Maui.

It’s a short walk to the beach. 6th floor is perfect for viewing sunsets. Was a very unique view for New Years. In a residential area and was able to watch locals let off their fireworks. Good location for getting to other parts of the island. We very much enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful island escape with a perfectly appointed kitchen, allowing us to enjoy many meals in. We enjoyed coffee, homemade breakfast and other delicious home cooked meals on the lanai!
Lovely decorations are up to date and themed perfectly throughout the condo. The comfortable king size bed, bedroom ceiling fan, cold A/C and the large flat screen TV in the living room made for cozy indoor relaxation. The grounds are beautiful with gas BBQ grills, pool, sand volleyball court and a short walk across the lawn to the ocean allowing gorgeous sunset photo ops. There were beach chairs and some other beach equipment in the condo to assist in making our stay wonderful!
The condo was on the parking lot side of the complex, allowing views of both the ocean and the mountain. While the view includes the parking lot, this worked out ok, as we were on the quiet side of the complex. Our friends that had nicer views overlooking the courtyard and pool area also had to deal with a lot of courtyard noise from festivities below. Our lanai was quiet in the evenings, providing a beautiful and peaceful ambiance.
The only additions we would suggest would be luggage stands for our suitcases, a fan or someway to move air in the living room as it gets hot with the sliding door open, and some Hawaiian themed CDs. We ended up using our phones with Pandora for music, which is a shame with all the great entertainment technology provided.
We were surprised and disappointed that the complex allows large groups of (non resident) families outside the complex to use the bbq area and pool, most nights it was hard to find room to bbq before dark and the pool was very crowded.
Other units had much more hands on owners, some even called during Tropical Storm Darby and included an Emergency kit, ours did not, which is fine. We're self sufficient people. I did enjoy the nice amenities and the proximity to the elevator and parking spot. Other than the somewhat disappointing view, (the one picture from the balcony has the parking lot cropped out) it was a beautiful condo. We did not have a great experience booking through VRBO so we will probably book directly through an owner next time.
All in all, We would definitely rent this condo again!

Our overall experience was great. The condo was well-stocked and comfortable, with plenty of space for our family of 3. We appreciated having a concierge on site at the condo complex to help with reservations and recommendations. Joan was very flexible about allowing us early entry to the condo. The location is great - very convenient to everything you'll need. It was our first trip to the island and I definitely think Kihei was the right choice because of its central location.
One thing we did realize is that the layout of the condo complex - two buildings in a loose V shape - creates a wind tunnel between the two buildings, which is right where the pool is. One day we were convinced it was windy everywhere in Kihei, but then realized the windiest spot was the pool, and the entry to the 6th floor condo! Other than that, it's a great deal and I recommend it!

Joan's condo if perfect for a couple. If you are looking for easy access to Kihei's restaurants, and walk- out accessibility to the beach, pool, hot tub, and grill area, then this is a great choice. The unit is newly renovated and clean, and we loved being on the 4th floor where the ocean breeze cooled the condo in the evening. The Lanai was private enough for morning coffee in our robes. You cannot beat this unit for the price, and Joan is wonderful to work with. Our stay went off without a hitch!

We have been staying at Village by the Sea for the past 8 years in various units. Joan's place was by far the nicest. Quiet. Great view. All new finishes, comfortable king sized bed, etc. Would recommend this place to anyone. Location is fantastic in a quiet part of North Kihei that is only 5 minutes from restaurants, grocery stores, and such. Place was very clean, had lots of towels, beach gear, and every appliance you could need while visiting Maui.

We enjoyed this great condo for two weeks. The place is all that it says in the advertisement. It was convenient to have the elevators nearby and the laundry room too. The unit is clean and has everything you need for your stay. The king size bed was very comfortable with the foam topper on it. The whole building is also well maintained and we enjoyed the pool and hot tub area regularly. The location was convenient for our day trips and we enjoyed watching the sunset from the lanai or going down to the large grass area by the beach. The unit is on the south side of the building so you will enjoy the sun from the time is peeks over Haleakala till the time is sets.

This condo is everything it describes. It is very nicely updated with lots of room and a great view. The property has all that you will need. The king size bed is comfortable and the building is quiet in the evenings....you don't even hear the roosters! We loved the location as it is just a short drive to our favorite beaches.

We stayed here for 3 nights & had a wonderful time. This condo has a great kitchen, gas BBQ by the pool with an awesome view of the ocean. Short walk to the beach. We did not have any water on the last day due to an issue with the Maui county pipeline, which was a bummer but overall was a great stay.
