We enjoyed the convenient location of this condo for exploring the Kohala Coast. The written instructions for finding it were very detailed and helpful and we appreciated being able to do laundry and borrow beach chairs. As others have noted, the owner left a generous platter of fruit. While this is an expensive area to stay in, our experience felt like a poor value. All the knives were dull, even for cutting a papaya; the fridge light was broken; there was no kettle for boiling water and just one kitchen towel. The toilet makes a loud, high pitched sound every time it gets flushes; the light in the shower is broken; and there are not enough towel bars or hooks for bath and hand towels. The sofa bed in the living room is very soft and saggy. There was no guide with any tips for what to do with the trash, where to buy groceries, etc. While the owner was responsive to specific questions, we had minimal communication with her. We had a much more positive experience in Kona for a fraction of the cost.

I was visiting friends but also needed a clean and comfortable space for working while visiting. The condo had good lighting, good internet, and was perfect for what I was looking for. The parking spot is right next to the building. The bed was comfortable. I would definitely stay here again. I was visiting friends so did not try the pool or facilities.
I went every day to Island Vintage Coffee and bought myself either a bagel or egg sandwich and a yummy coconut coffee. Also, very convenient to the Kona Airport.

Great layout with bedroom & bathroom separate from living room, dining area, & kitchen. Corner unit with large wrap-around lanai. We appreciated Lin's fresh fruits. Well stocked with kitchen & bath supplies. Would definitely stay again!

This little gem is well location near beaches(walk to A-bay or short drive to others). Well appointed kitchen and comfortable queen size bed. The trade winds were not blowing during our visit so we need to use the air conditioning while in the unit- it did get a little stuffy but overall comfortable. Lin provided shampoo, body wash, beach towels, boogie board, well used beach chairs, coolers, and snorkeling equipment. We had a wonderful time explore the area. Mahalo!!

This condo is great, and Lin is great too! Place is clean, and well supplied with all needed supplies and linens. Lin had a basket of local fruits waiting for us. Neighborhood is quiet and grounds are nicely kept.
For a one bedroom this condo is very spacious. Bed was very comfortable, big refrigerator and nice balcony.
Lin even touched base to make sure everything was okay. We were supposed to come last year and paid for the condo, but had to cancel just days before due to Covid, and Lin graciously offered to move the reservation to a time we could come. She could have just kept our money. That says a lot about Lin’s character!
If we are in the area again we will definitely look into renting this condo again!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Lin’s. Lin is a very gracious host, providing us with fruit from her farm upon arrival. I’m a stickler for cleanliness, and her place was spotless. Everything we needed was provided: beach towels, beach umbrella, chairs, boogie board, snorkel gear, coolers (we only used the beach umbrella but it’s nice to know the other things were available). Great location and close to some of Big Island’s best white sand beaches. Highly recommend, and would definitely stay here again. Thank you Lin!

If you want to stay in Waikoloa, this is a great choice. The unit is clean and has plenty of room. The lanai is large and a great place to relax and listen to all the birds. Lots of supplies in the unit, for cooking and exploring.

Lin was an amazing host! She even provided a huge fruit basket with fresh fruits. Good supply of linens, and other household and kitchen items. Complimentary snorkel and beach gears. Apartment is very comfortable, very clean, bright and roomy with white carpet. Fast WiFi. Great location. Easy drive to Hapuna and Puako beaches, King and Queen shopping centers.

The Shores is a wonderful place to stay! It was quiet and peaceful. Dirt walking distance to stores and restaurants! Also, we really enjoyed easy access to all the beautiful golf courses but only in Waikoloa Village but also surrounding area. Will definitely book again!

We spent two weeks in May, 2022 at Lin Tottle’s condo at the Shores. The location of her unit was perfect for all the things we wanted to do on the Big Island. Three unique features of the place that we have not experienced in past VRBO rentals was 1) a huge bowl of fruit awaiting us when we arrived that was from Lin’s farm in Hawi; 2) an invitation to visit the farm which we took advantage of and came back with boxes of fruit and the rare ability to meet the owner of the VRBO. What a treat. 3) The cupboards were absolutely stocked with almost anything you could use.

We very much enjoyed our stay. It’s a lovely, comfortable home-away-from home located in a beautiful gated community. Lin, the owner, greeted us upon arrival and familiarized us with the condo. She provided a large basket of fresh fruits and avocados fresh from her farm. What a treat! The bed is comfortable, the lanai is wonderful and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. The condo itself is well stocked with items that made our stay stress free- beach chairs, beach towels, even laundry soap and fabric softener for the washer and dryer located within the condo. We cooked fresh fish one day and there was even dill for it located in the cupboard. The stay could not have been nicer, and we definitely want to come back!

Lin’s place is so welcoming, she was very accommodating as we needed to drop off our bags prior to check in and she met us at the property herself. Lin is very kind and brought us lovely fresh produce from her farm. The king bed is very comfortable, she has many amenities for cooking and enjoying your stay. She does have white carpet, we tried to be very careful and always remove shoes and sand before entering. Will stay here again! Mahalo

Spacious and clean, convenient location to beaches, shops, and restaurants, this one bedroom condo was just what we wanted for our 4 night stay --- in fact, next time we would like to stay longer. We really appreciated the stocked kitchen, enjoyed the use of the nearby grill, and loved the locally grown fruits that Lin left for us. We made use of the beach towels, beach chairs, umbrella and cooler, and liked having an in-unit washer & dryer. Hanging out on the lanai was peaceful, especially when serenaded by the birds in the morning and late afternoon. My husband and I enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this condo unit.

We had a wonderful stay in this cozy condo. Kitchen is well equipped everything you need. It has everything you need from beach towels, beach chairs and coolers. The welcome tropical fruit was a wonderful touch. Working with Lin was so easy.
One thing their pool in under construction so we used the property next door not far.

The location is perfect for visiting the Kohala coast, wind amazing beaches and hikes :) Situated in the upscale resort area of Waikoloa, we felt very pampered. Wonderful balcony as well! House has all the amenities you wish for a relaxing vacation, including complimentary snorkel and beach gear! Highly recommend!

This is a beautiful condo; clean, comfortable and spacious. Lin met us in the condo at check-in. She is very nice. There were extra towels, beach chairs and umbrellas, a kitchen with lots of condiments/spices/extras and one of the coolest things Lin did was leave a tray filled with fresh fruits from the island. We loved our stay here. Only wish was that we could have turned AC below 77 for a more comfortable nights sleep. It is locked at 77. For the most part, that's fine but at night it was warm. It did not cool down a whole lot at night to make opening the windows much better.

My wife and I recently had a delightful four day stay in this beautiful condo. We arrived to find a basket of fresh fruit courtesy of the owner Lin. The condo is located in a nice, quiet gated community, that is close to a variety of shops, restaurants, a great grocery, and of course the beach! The owner has provided a variety of beach toys for guests to use, as well as a full selection of cookware, towels, and household items. The condo was clean and well maintained. We have stayed in the Waikaloa area several times in the past, and really appreciate the proximity to some great beaches. Just a few miles north of Waikaloa are two of our favorites; Beach 69, and Hapuna. Thanks Lin for sharing your lovely condo!

Lin's condo was very well equipped. We had every thing we needed for a great stay. I cooked many meals in the kitchen, and we ate most of them on the beautiful balcony. Lin had a cooler in the condo with all the supplies needed for a great day at the beach. We drove to a new beach every day all within minutes from the condo. The Market at Queens Shop had all the groceries we needed and we did not have to drive back to Kona for miscellaneous items. Don't miss the drive to Hawi and back through Waimea. Time it so that you can see the sunset on between Hawi and Waimea. Dinner at Merrymans was a wonderful find in Waimea, but do make a reservation. Happy Hour on the beach at Lava Lava was a group favorite as well.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lin’s condo at The Shores. The night we arrived, it felt like our home away from home. The condo is very clean and well equipped. The wi-fi is very fast and reliable. We stayed almost six weeks and were very sad to have to leave this beautiful piece of paradise.
The large lanai was like an extra room for us. When we weren’t out and about at the beaches or exploring the island and when we weren’t sleeping or cooking in the condo, we were on the lanai. We took all our meals there. In the morning we would listen to the birds singing; at night we would listen to the palm fronds and the leaves rustling in the trade winds.
The condo complex is very quiet and the grounds are beautiful. The pool is a short walk from the apartment. Parking is very close to the building and even when we were out late at night, we never had a problem finding a parking spot when we came back.
We were really happy to be staying in Waikoloa Resort as it is a short drive to our favourite beaches and it’s a shorter drive from there than from Kailua-Kona to many of the places we visit on a regular basis.
Lin is an excellent host. She responded to all our inquiries very quickly during the booking process. When we arrived at the condo, we found that she had left a beautiful basket of fruit from her farm for us. It was such a treat to have fresh local fruit for breakfast. Lin also invited us to her farm where we were able to pick more fresh fruit to replenish our basket for the second half of our stay. Lin was also extremely prompt in returning our security deposit.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this condo to family or friends who were looking for an excellent place to stay in the Waikoloa Resort area and we look forward to a return visit.

We enjoyed our stay at this treasure-of-a-find condo! The owner was very courteous and helpful and even invited us to come to her home to pick fresh fruit from her orchard! Everything we needed was right at our fingertips. The location was perfect for our needs. Having family on both sides of the island (Hilo and Kona) made this a halfway point for us to meet. The owner had Kona coffee there for our use. Imagine the fragrance of it as we woke up! M-m-m, that's Hawaii! Waikoloa Shores is an ideal place to be as it's so close to the ocean and you're just 20-25 minutes from the airport, and Costco! From there, you're not very far from Kailua if you want to do more major, local shopping.
Our best view this time, was the snow-capped Mauna Kea! What an awesome view when we landed! Imagine this Island mountain being draped with newly fallen snow almost halfway down! Ig you wanted cooler weather, driving up to Waimea, to Paniolo country is always a treat too! We would stay again and will suggest it to our friends who decide to go to the Big Island for an adventure or relaxation!

The corner deck is spacious as is the condo! In November the sun hits the deck during the day which can be pleasant for sun worshippers and comfortable when the Trades are active -- it can also be fairly warming. We used the AC only overnight one time during our short stay. There is limited space in the kitchen area but it is definitely adequate for the time spent in the condo. We loved the privacy of the condo as well as the beautiful grounds. We have stayed in the islands numerous times and found that we absolutely love the Waikoloa area! We'd put it at a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10 -- that's how wonderful and safe it is! The Shores in particular are quite lovely -- you might find yourself wondering what it would take to buy a unit while here!
