It needs some paint and new carpet. I hear they are putting new flooring in it in Dec. because it really needs it. Location is great. TV was acting up and would just turn off and remotes didn;t work half the time.Needs a face lift.

The location is great, however the condo needs some improvements. The bed was really comfortable. Opportunities- carpet is disgusting, entire unit has a bad odor (probably from the carpet), bathroom is old and needs updating, need a dresser instead of the storage boxes, need a coffee pot that has an auto off. Our friends stayed at the same complex, just a few units down and their condo was much nicer and cost just a little more, which would be worth it.

Location is excellent. Gives a holiday look of Maui while centrally located to reach different work locations. I do wish more eating places were near by but not a big problem.

Accommodations were exactly as described, which perfectly suited our needs to add some extra time onto our annual timeshare week. Kristi was very responsive when we had any questions leading up to our stay, and Marco was very helpful with questions we had during our stay. I would highly recommend this property for its great location, but also for its wonderful accommodations as well as the outstanding communication at every level.

The location is great, just a hundred feet from a beautiful sandy beach. My only complaint is that ABB shows two different check out times, one page shows 11am, which I thought was the standard minimum in this business, and the other shows 10 am. After several attempts to contact the owner to ask which time was correct I found the checkout time in rules binder showed 10am along with a phone number to call if you wished to extend your checkout. I called the property manager to ask if we could extend our checkout to 11am due to a change in our flight time and he tells me he can't, as their next guest is checking in early and they need all four hours to clean the room for their arrival. I found that interesting that I was unable to checkout at the advertised time yet the next visitor could check in early.

This first floor unit was so comfortable and well stocked with everything a beach lover needs- towels, boogie boards, and beach chairs included. The lanai overlooks the pool and the palm trees on the shore- great place to enjoy your morning coffee and sea breeze. The kitchen even had a rice cooker and well stocked pantry. Hope to come back again soon !

Place was nice and central to all the areas.definitely needs an update.bed was super hard and old carpet in a beach condo is not very nice.beach was nice but in the water is a bit Rocky.managers were very nice and super easy to deal with.I would definitely recommend getting in touch with them.

We loved this condo!!! It was clean and spacious. The courtyard off the lanai was beautiful, the pool was clean, and the beach was just steps away. The AC was cold and the kitchen was well stocked. Restaurants were a 10 minute drive away. The host was quick to reply to any of my questions and check in was a breeze! We will absolutely be back!

We spent 9 days in Maui and this resort was the perfect location. Excellent beach, pool area and barbecue areas. We walked on the beach and played in the sand. Friendly people and clean well manicured common areas. The unit was very well stocked and had the most comfortable bed and pillows! Easy check in and check out process. Would definitely stay here again!

This condo was perfect for our stay in Maui! It had every possible thing that you could’ve needed, even a vegetable slicer and basic seasonings and sauces that you would need in the refrigerator for you already! This was super helpful due to the high price of groceries in Maui. The location was great and we were able to access everything on the island within a pretty decent driving distance. It was super clean and fit our needs perfectly! The only thing that could be improved is the air conditioner airflow in the master bedroom, we were finding ourselves hot at night due to this. Other than that, you were right on the beach and the balcony is a great distance from the pool as well. The front desk workers were so friendly during the check-in process and couldn’t have helped us more on navigating around the island and doing the must see things! We will be back!!

The space is very comfortable, very close to the beach, perfect location to everything. You definitely have to look out when you leave anything out in the kitchen.
We never left any food out but we did leave one cup with a straw out and it immediately created ants. Other than it ensuring you washed your dishes RIGHT AWAY lol I was great. It’s not their fault the environment just us the way it is. Other than that we loved it

We finally made it here after booking several times through the pandemic. Kristi was very understanding about the changing conditions and regulations surrounding Covid. The manager, Marco, was very nice and accommodating as well. Place is spacious, clean and was perfect for our family. Was fantastic being steps from the ocean and the pool. Also had a blast with the guests every night at the hot tub! Everyone was super nice and fun to talk to. Good central location on the island and excellent value for the price. We will definitely be back!

This property is clean, quiet and comfortable. There were six adults in my party and there was plenty of room for us. The large deck and pool is awesome. The deck has 2 very large umbrellas for shade. Martha was very easy to communicate with and was very quick to respond to emails. We would definitely stay here again

This is the ideal location! Main level let’s you walk right out to the pool and ocean. Perfect if you have a little one. Clean and comfortable condo. All the amenities we needed including kitchen wares, beach chairs, umbrella, etc. Host replied quickly and was super nice. On-site property manager was avail for anything we needed. Highly recommend. We had a great stay.

I was impressed with the property. The condo had all necessary equipment and including basic items i.e. cooking oil, utensils, shampoo etc. that we didn't need to buy. I gave a 4 instead 5 star because the carpets needed cleaning. However, I noticed that they were being cleaned before we left the property. We met the property manager Marco Polo and he was extremely nice and helpful. I would definately stay in this property again.

We love sugar beach and booked this property for the last two nights of our trip because we love the area so very much. The condo was everything we expected and more both my husband and I were impressed. Marco was wonderful and super helpful! This unit is a great first floor unit with easy access to the pool, beach and Dina’s SandWitch shop. You can watch the sunset right from the lanai and it is stunning. Would absolutely stay again!

We found Sugar Beach condos last year and quickly decided that this is the primo spot on the island to stay. The complex is older, but VERY well maintained with easy parks no. Units are small but very efficiently laid out. You need only go out onto your launai for a perfect sunset. The AC is greatly appreciated and kept us comfortable.
The unit itself was basic with everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen well-stocked. It was very clean on our arrival.
The check in process is confusing if you arrive after hours, but we noticed that everyone else was having the same problem. There is no lockbox or key, because doors are coded.
This is a great, economical place to stay, and we had no problems. We would definitely stay here again.

A great location right on the beach, close to everything. This unit (108) had absolutely everything one would need. Flippers, beach chairs, umbrella, golf clubs (for the putting green), security safe, blow dryer, hair straightener, blender, rice maker, the list goes on.
I loved the walk out of this unit for our children to have easy access to the beach and pool.
There were many pool rules, followed by most (not all). The company responsible for cleaning the unit could do better. The dryer vents out to the shower and I had to clean it out myself. The bathtub needed a better scrub for sure, one shower and the built up soap scum was dirty and very visible.
There was ample starter supplies available (dishwasher tabs, laundry tabs, paper towel, dish soap, etc.)
I would book this unit again, the owner was lovely and responsive to all my questions.

Upon arrival to Maui, we realized that the property was much closer to the airport than we anticipated -- we were several hours earlier than the documented check-in time. I used the VRBO messaging system to see if there was a possibility of getting in a little sooner. Much to my surprise, the owner called me personally within ten minutes and said she was checking on whether the cleaning crew was finished with their work. They confirmed it was and she told us to "Go for it!" Because she went the extra mile, we were able to get in, unpack, and spend several hours on the beach that day. Since we were on a fairly short vacation (Monday afternoon to Friday morning) this was a BIG DEAL.
The property had everything we wanted/expected. It has a pool on the property big enough to do some lap swimming (which I did on the one rainy day) and is just a few steps from the beach. Beach was great for lounging, walking and swimming. Property itself was clean and well-kept. A large TV in the living room had access to all the normal channels you would expect from any cable or satellite provider. Another fairly large TV was located in the bedroom. The mattress on the bed was extremely firm and comfortable. Having a washer and dryer in the unit was extremely convenient. Directions on check-in and check-out were very clear and thorough. Wireless internet was available and was fast and easy to use. The unit even had a cooler, reusable ice backs and beach chairs... all the little things you don't think of but need on vacation. The only thing I can think of that could have been better was a chair in the living room that too easily tilted around at all angles when you sat in it. It was NOT a problem -- had to reach back in my memory just to find a constructive criticism.
Bottom line, I would recommend this property and this owner to anyone desiring a great experience on Maui. When we return (this was the first time back since our honeymoon 30 years ago) we will plan our trip specifically around when this owner/property has availability.

Nice condo. The owners are in the process of making updates. The facilities at the resort are well cared for best of all everything is right on the beach. Quiet and not right in all the hustle and bustle but a short drive to everything. Would stay here again.

After traveling over 24 hours to get to Kauai, we fell into the most comfortable bed ever!!! The condo had everything we needed. The kitchen was well stocked and it was also nice to have beach chairs and towels available. Washer and dryer was a bonus too. Poipu Sands is a convenient location away from the hustle and bustle of town but easy enough to get to great restaurants and beaches. There are nice walking paths through the property and Shipwreck Beach is close by. Sunrises on the cliffs above the beach were spectacular. We would absolutely stay at this property again on our next vacation!
