We could not have happier with this Condo. The sunset views were out of this world! The beaches in front of us were beautiful and we were able to take mile long walks in either direction. The kitchen was completely stocked which made it easy to fix bfast and dinner. It was clean, quiet and air conditioned - our three prerequisites for a rental. We’ve found a go to rental on Maui. If only we could have stayed a bit longer.

The ocean pond was an excellent add-on to play (this is accessible for public as well, but we could watch kids from balcony if need to be). Turtle Rest area in the pond meant, you did not have to go anywhere to see Hawaiian green sea turtles. Many fishes in the pond itself for snorkeling (after a great morning of surfing, hiking or other activities). Awesome scenic views, whales playing in the water, Sunsets, all from the balcony. I recommend this place, an amazing condo.

This place is amazing. Hands down the very best VRBO we have stayed in.
The unit: Extremely clean. Updated. Fully stocked kitchen, beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers, snorkel gear. The best place to watch the sunset is from the lanai. Every night I needed to be back by sunset because it was an amazing view.
The property: Well maintained. BBQ grills were immaculate, plenty of parking, on site restaurant that will do to-go orders in case you don't feel like cooking dinner or going somewhere. Easy access to grocery and restaurants yet not too close to hustle and bustle of being around the restaurants. You can walk north on the beach 1.4 miles. I didn't walk south but it looked to be about the same distance. Turtles come to shore to sleep next door.
The owners: Excellent communication before and during our trip. Airline changed our flight significantly on us and they were very accommodating to the change. Offered suggestions on beaches and restaurants. Could contact anytime we had questions.
When we return, we will book this unit again!

Property was very clean and well maintained. Complete with everything you need for your home away from home vacation. Great location being right next to the beach for swimming and snorkelling and walks on the beach. The pool was wonderful. But best of all was the awesome views with sunsets that never disappoint. Definitely would return and recommend.
Also located with easy access to drive or take a bus to shopping and restaurants and other beach destinations.

Dave and Toshiko were wonderful hosts. They were always easy to get ahold of and they sent us updated snorkeling reports for the surrounding area in the morning. This location gave us a beautiful sunset every day and there is also a turtle resting spot on the beach. Can't beat enjoying a coffee and watching huge turtles wake up! We were very close to stores and only a 5-10 min drive from other beaches further down south. Quick 20-25 min drive to the airport made coming and going a breeze as well. Would certainly recommend this location to any couple looking to relax!

I have used VRBO several times previously but have never felt compelled to leave a review (just me). I thought it was warranted this time. This beautiful oasis was clean when we arrived and was exactly as described. The check-in process was smooth. Dave is a great host. Dave’s place was amazing! The pictures do not do the views justice. It was awesome to sit outside and watch the sunsets each night. The condo is located in a great location too, easy to get to all the best beaches and restaurants. The condo was very clean and had all the beach stuff you could ever need. This is THE property to book if you’re looking to stay in Kihei. The hosts made our stay by providing us with everything we could think of. The ocean view was fantastic, furniture comfortable, location so convenient! We saw turtles every day and really enjoyed the beach and the heated pool. All of our favorite foods were just a short drive away. Some must sees are the Maui Ocean Center, Hanalua Bay for snorkeling and photos, and glass blowing at Moana Glass. Best early/discount eating: Sensei (sushi), Three's (fusion), Fabiani' (pizza), Paia Fish & Nalu's for breakfast. Yum. We look forward to returning.

Our hosts were much better at communicating than I was with them. The property was "move in ready" in every way I can think of. This was our first experience with a VRBO and because of this experience we look forward to many more in the future. Our stay was comfortable, convenient and stress free. There were even little sticky notes around the condo giving us hints or instruction for use of appliances, detergents, etc and or how best to make the most of our stay. This property is perfect! It was clean, close to everything, away from major resorts, and the location is overlooking the ocean! We spent most of our time watching the sunsets on the lanai. The condo had everything we needed; beach chairs and towels, cooler, snorkels and fins, even beach hats! The bed was super comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. The best is the location with a shallow cove on one side perfect for young children to swim in and seeing the sea turtles who live there was a treat. The beach on the other side is lovely and never crowded. Wish were still there!

The condo is beautifully updated. The kitchen has everything you'd need to prepare meals, or pack a picnic for the beach. There are beach chairs, boogie boards and lots of beach towels too. The bed is comfortable and the condo was immaculate when we arrived. The food at Monsoon restaurant, which is on site, is delicious. Our first experience eating Indian cuisine and we ate there several times. Early mornings you can watch Sea Turtles in the fish pond and on the beach infront of the complex. The condo owner, Dave, was fantastic to work with. He checked with us several times to make sure we had everything we needed or if we had any questions. We would highly recommend this condo.

This was our first trip to Maui and it was amazing! Communication with Dave and Toshkiko was outstanding and greatly appreciated. They provided a list of activities, restaurants, and attractions in the areas that assisted us in our planning. They also provided guidance on which beaches to visit for snorkeling and viewing sea turtles (found right on the property!). The condo is beautiful with every amenity that you could ever need. The lanai was our favorite spot for morning coffee and gorgeous sunsets. The location was perfect, close to shopping and restaurants! We only stayed three nights, but that was time enough to appreciate the power of a panoramic ocean view. I immediately felt a sense of peace and tranquillity as we sat on the lanai watching the waves lap the rocks of the fish pond. We had a wonderful time at Dave and Toshiko’s lovely condo! Their home is newly renovated and spotless. Communication was top notch, with clear instructions and immediate responses. Every detail and amenity was provided to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable, from the beach gear, to kitchen utensils, to USB/charging ports. The central location with gorgeous ocean views added so much to our experience. We also appreciated the heated pool, available barbecues, and the friendly, hard working staff that keep the grounds of the condo building in excellent condition. We LOVED our stay at this beautiful, newly remodeled condo! One of the best parts was the location and the views, there’s a large balcony facing the ocean where you can enjoy the sunsets and watch all the sea turtles bask in the sun! The amenities are amazing too, there’s a large rooftop that’s available where you can bbq and admire the scenery- also a great location to watch the sunrise. There’s a heated pool, more bbqs and even a restaurant! It feels like you have your own private beach- just step outside and your there! Our favorite thing was the cove-like area located at the property because it was shallow enough for our kiddo to feel comfortable swimming, and was also a great place to snorkel or just relax and float on a raft. The sea turtles though…..they thrive at this location and we made beautiful memories watching them swim around and rest on the rocks. This is truly a Sea Turtle Paradise and 100% would recommend this property in beautiful Maui!

We only had the opportunity to stay one night, but thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Unit is clean, comfortable for two people, recently updated, and right on the ocean with a great view of the water and neighboring islands. Unlike some other condos we have stayed at the full time residents were very friendly and helpful. The condo was quiet and well equipped. Like many condos in Hawaii parking in the lot was plentiful during the day but can be hard to find if you are coming back later at night. The condo is centrally located on th island making trips to Costco (near the airport), golf courses, restaurants and other attractions very convenient. Several excellent restaurants are minutes away and either of the towns of Kahului or Lahaina can be reached with in 30 minutes assuming no traffic problems.
The owners are also very friendly and provided good communications and instructions. They even texted us to make sure to make sure everything was OK on our arrival. Will definitely hope to stay here again on our next trip to Kihei and highly recommend.

Wonderful condo fully equipped with everything you need to relax and enjoy beautiful Maui. Plenty of space for our family of four. The beach just outside the condo had a barrier reef breaking the waves further out making the shoreline serene - perfect for our toddlers. This is something we only thought existed at Baby Beach. The condo was stocked with beach gear and towels. The Lana’i was picture perfect to enjoy sunrise and sunset or a cocktail while the kids napped. This was our third trip to Maui - previously we stayed exclusively at resorts. Not anymore - this condo was everything we needed and more, and the owners were so kind and accommodating. Dave even called upon our arrival to ensure everything was good. We will definitely be coming back. This condo changed the way we’ll travel to Maui in the future. Thank you for sharing your condo with us. It was very comfortable and the view from the lanai was amazing. We are starting to become regulars at Mennehune Shores in November and hope to rent your condo in November 2020 (as it was already booked for the dates we needed in 2019). We have rented a 6th floor unit next year, but enjoyed the convenience of the 2nd floor. Dave was easy to work with and was very attentive to our every need. Our Maui vacation to celebrate a special birthday proved to be a week in paradise. The lovely condo provided breath-taking views of the ocean from our private lanai. The property included easy access to the beach, beach-side pool, meticulously maintained grounds, elevator, on-site restaurant and gas BBQ,s on the roof. Our unit had all the essentials: well-stocked kitchen, refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, and coffee makers. The washer/dryer was very convenient. The condo was exceptionally clean and well maintained. With a perfect location, we had access to local restaurants, shopping areas, parks and recreational opportunities. The owners were always accommodating and easy to work with. A helpful personal guide gave recommendations for restaurants, services and attractions. Their attention to detail and kind support made us feel at home. It’s a home where we want to return, so we can spend more time in paradise.

When you go on a vacation to relax and take in the spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean, you can't ask for a more perfect location. Dave and Toshiko have a wonderful property in Kihei that is cozy and inviting. The Lanai provides the perfect backdrop of the Pacific Ocean. The fresh air and the constant breeze are welcomed throughout the property. Dave and Toshiko kindly provided a fresh fruit basket full of local fruits. They provided all the necessities for a day at the beach. The condo was fully furnished, the kitchen was stocked with the essentials to prepare home cooked meals and the Best luxury was the AC unit both in the bedroom and in the living room. Easy access to the beach that has A wonderful spot to enjoy the company of sea turtles. I highly recommend staying at Dave and Toshiko's piece of paradise.

Menehune Shores with Dave and Toshiko Jager:
This is an absolutely wonderful place! The view from the lanai is a gem and we will treasure the sunsets forever. (We played the Hawaiian sunset chant every evening that we watched it to honor the spirt of the land and thank the day.) We were also happy with the location being somewhat north of the Kihei main strip so that we had a more relaxed environment with some privacy without being too remote. (Relatively short drive to the Kihei Boat ramp, which made getting to the dive boat easy.) The protected harbor swim area and beach was lovely- best in the morning and again in the late afternoon when the waves subside again. We saw a variety of fish and turtles.
The unit itself is charming- spotless, very nicely designed and comfortable. The refreshing breezes make air-conditioning a “just in case” add on, but mother nature did fine. Just about everything that you could possibly need was provided and all was in perfect working order. We loved being on the lanai so, being that the unit is on the opposite side of the pool area, it is also more quiet with a panoramic view along the beach. (The pool was close enough though, and the second set of grills nearby came in handy also). We could not have wished for more.
Dave is a great host, making information and contact easy, in addition to calling to check that all was going well. We are grateful for a beautiful stay and hope to have the good fortune to return some day. For Dave and Toshiko- Mahalo Nui for sharing your home and giving us a memorable stay.

Access to a big rooftop to bbq and lookout over the ocean, We went swimming with the Turtles and fish in the lagoon right in front of the room, and enjoyed relaxing walks down on the beach. The host are pure amazing. They make you feel right at home before you even get there. They keep in contact with you before you arrive and during your stay to make sure you're taken care of. Welcomed us with fresh fruit basket and a personalized gift. If I ever had any questions they would reply quickly. I would recommend this place to any of my family or friends that are visiting Maui. I would definitely stay here again. The room comes with lots of extra to help make your stay more enjoyable.

Once again we enjoyed #217 for 7 weeks. It was so much fun watching the turtles frolicking in the pond everyday. Dave and Toshiko have done such a good job placing pictures and beach artifacts on walls. They also have everything you need for keeping house including a wonderful small vac. The kitchen is fully stocked if cooking while there is your forte. The staff at Menehune are wonderful and so helpful and keep the building and grounds in pristine condition. We stayed for three nights at the Jager's Condo.... and it was everything you view on the photos attached to this site. Immaculately clean, new quiet remote control air conditioners, fabulous Lanai literally viewing and hearing the ocean 24/7! Walking shore with views of different portions of Maui, Cupboards stocked with everything you may need, and welcome letter with suggestions of things to do in the area. Dave answered a call from me immediately since I was wondering where we may see the green turtles. Very kind and professional people! Cheers to the Jagers! Hope to become long term repeat clients. We absolutely loved staying in this condo! Perfect size and location for our active family of four. We loved the easy access to the beach! And the included beach accessories (chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, etc.) were a HUGE bonus! The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed to cook a few meals in the condo and we enjoyed eating dinner on the lanai while watching that beautiful Maui sunset. Dave and Toshiko are wonderful owners that truly want you to have the best experience in their "Happy Place". The grounds of the property are beautiful and we found the location to be perfect. We can't wait to go back and will definitely stay here again! Mahalo, Dave and Toshiko for everything!

This is a nice little condo in Kihei. Location is great for getting to everything in South Maui. The beach it is on is small but nice, and easy walk to other, connecting beaches. The condo is very clean and well equipped, with everything you need in the kitchen, a comfortable bedroom, large washer/dryer, and plenty of beach chairs, towels, etc. This is not a luxury place, but a comfortable one. Owners were terrific to deal with--very prompt and responsive, and always willing to help. Only criticism is that the decor could use a little help--not very "beachy" or warm--a little warmer paint (it's all white), some island furniture, and warm-toned tiles or wood floor would make this 4 star condo a 5 star. But would still recommend to others!

This condo has a great location. I was impressed how well stocked and organized it was. We did a lot of BBQing on the roof - a fantastic place to have dinner and enjoy the sunset. We look forward to our next trip to Maui and will definitely consider renting this unit again.

We absolutely loved the ocean view from this unit !!! It really couldn't get much better and we spent many hours on the deck morning and night ! The unit was clean and fully stocked for convenience. Having a bathtub and ensuite laundry was fantastic. We loved being outside of the main hustle and bustle of Kihei and found it relaxing. We were a family of 3 - with a 6.5 yr old son who loved both the beach and pool! I would stay here again in a heart beat if there was a pullout sofa option in the living room as the mats on the floor were fine for our son's age, but he'd need a bed if older . The owners were fantastic to deal with and always could be reached for any questions or concerns!!! Thank you for such a wonderful stay!!!!

We were excited from day one when we booked our trip! Dave made us feel welcome from the onset! Answered any and all questions very promptly. We arrived and the place was just as we were hoping! One bedroom with all the amenities and extras you can hope for. They have extra bedding/cot for additional guests. Certainly helped with packing i.e. towels, beach accessories were all provided. Basically things are there when you arrive but we leave things when we leave (kind of a pay it forward aspect lol). He has a guest book as well and we enjoyed the reviews in there from other happy guests. View from the suite is just priceless!! Bed comfy, enjoyed the laundry (helped so that we didn't have to wash when we returned home lol), nice kitchen with all you can ask for (including blenders, crock pot, coffee makers (even a keurig) etc.). We high-handedly would recommend renting from this family any day! Very accommodating; very nice and friendly! We have nothing negative to say. Condo is in a great area and right on the beach! Couldn't get any closer! If you visit the Road to Hana, be sure to download the "Road to Hana Maui GPS Driving Tours & Haleakala - Hawaii Audio Guide" app. It's less than $7 but well worth it! All beaches were phenomenal. Can't go wrong with any of the ones you chose. Appears that everyone is laid back on the island. Great vibe! If you decide to rent from Dave and family, you will not regret it! We brought them some Canadian maple syrup and hope they are able to enjoy it! This place was amazing! It's on the second floor, so you can take the stairs and not wait on the elevator. It has a beautiful ocean view and a lovely breeze that blows right through the condo. We rarely used the air conditioning. The owner is very easy to work with and very easy to get in touch with as well. The kitchen is fully equipped and has everything you need to cook with. The lanai made for a perfect place to enjoy a beautiful morning breakfast, or a sunset dinner. We were also quite excited to have all of the "extras" such as beach chairs, cooler, beach bag, beach towels, umbrellas, snorkel gear, etc. That was definitely a fun bonus and nice to have! This condo is in a great location too. It's in a central location in Maui to do everything the island has to offer which makes it even better! We truly enojoyed our stay. Thanks Dave and Toshiko!

Great location close to everything you will want to do on the island. Balcony is great for having a coffee and watching the turtles. My family and I enjoyed meals on the balcony each time with a different veiw. Condo was well stocked (and still is). Check kitchen and bathroom before going shopping (ended up with a few doubles). The beach to the left of the building is great for long walks.
We definitely look forward to future trips and are already planning for 3 weeks next time hopefully next year. ☺

Had a great stay at 217. The condo was clean, everything worked (especially the A/C!) and there were beach towels and chairs for use on the beaches in the area. We saw turtles everyday! Dave called twice during our stay to make sure we were happy and we were! If we ever get the chance to come back we would be happy to stay again in 217!

I stayed here in mid August 2016 with my wife. The condo is beautiful with A/C, a king bed, ceiling fans, a full kitchen and a view to kill for. It was all that Dave and Toshiko had described to us EXCEPT for what a great area it is. Very little traffic noise and ideal for some rest and relaxation or close enough to plenty of shops for the little things to take home. We loved this place and would highly recommend it.
