It was perfect for our expanded family and made all the better by the hosts' attitude toward having our dogs stay with us. There was great space for socializing, good privacy when wanted, and a lovely serenity to the place

If you want to stay in a large, roomy, private home, this is your place. Peaceful, and great for a large family or multiple couples. The home is extremely well appointed with anything you would ever need. Every day we were amazed at what we found in the house. The kitchen is gourmet, fully stocked from the coffee to and spices. Every appliance you would ever need. There is a bar that could be a professional restaurant bar. Multiple areas to eat indoors and outdoors with large group seating. The bedrooms were generous and bedding was very good. The layout of the house gave everyone the privacy they needed. The patio/lanai/pool are is newly refurbished and the best part of the property. The jacuzzi, however, is really difficult to operate and we never got it working properly despite being given instructions. The property manager was amazing and highly responsive by phone and text. Even on Christmas Day! We did buy the daily resort fee to get beach access etc. Although no problem getting the passes etc, the hotels were overbooked and for 7 days we were unable to sit at the beach due to not enough beach chairs or umbrellas. This is a Mauna Kea problem, but be aware that holidays are very busy if this is the time you are going and you will face hoards of people! It was great retreating to the peace of the pool and lanai. The downside of this property is that it is older and badly in need of a major renovation. The furniture in the family room is worn and uncomfortable. The bathrooms are not modern and do need also a renovation. For the higher price over the holidays, this was a disappointment. The kitchen area does get very warm, and we were lucky that the winter evenings cooled down, but summer would be a problem in that regards. The AC in the bedrooms does work very well, so sleeping is not a problem. We would stay here again, but not over a holiday period due to the high cost and the crowds. Also the VRBO add on costs are terrible. The host and the property manager are SUPER and very accommodating to our early arrival and later departure needs. Thank you for a great stay. Superb location and view of the ocean. This is really a very lovely house with lots of room and privacy for a large group. Access to Mona Kea Resort makes this a true resort stay. The layout is fantastic for two families. The property is somewhat older and a few features are not up to date. Our sense is that the property did not get a good maintenance check over before we arrived as certain lighting around the pool had to be fixed by us. One feature that was not positive was that the main portion of the house is not air conditioned and was quite hot, especially the kitchen.

My family loved our stay at Mauna Kea. Host Judy was exceptional to communicate with and the home is perfect for families. We miss being there every day, hope to return soon.

We really enjoyed our stay after a rough start with flight delays and then getting to the home too late to get any food (the Island really shuts down after 11). Also, please note that you have to go to the Westin (next door) if you want the signing privileges at the Mauna Kea. Totally worth it but I just did not realize I had to go there to get the wristbands, etc. The home was perfect for our 3 adult children. Everyone had their own space. The pool and outdoor area were amazing and it is just a 15 minute walk to the Mauna Kea....best beach on the island. We wanted to book again for next Christmas but already reserved! We hope to be back! Very responsive property manager and owners. Aloha!

We stayed here for 10 days over Christmas break. It was the perfect set-up for both kids and grandparents alike, with something for everyone! The property is spacious and seems to have everything you may need. The owners and property managers we're very helpful and communicative when we had questions. We can't wait to visit again!

What a gorgeous, authentically Hawaiian property, complete with ample space for 2 families to spread out, and a beautiful sparkling clean pool overlooking the ocean. Our kids loved seeing the geckos around the property as well as the tropical birds. Everyone enjoyed the magical sunset dinners on the lanai as well as the convenient access to both the Mauna Kea and Weston properties for beach fun, snorkeling and golf. The property gives you the best of both worlds. And to top it off the hosts and property managers were incredibly responsive with top notch service. We'll be back.

This home is lovely!!! Karlynne is a great property manager, very helpful! The view is fantastic with beautiful sunsets! It was very nice having the benefits of the Mauna Kea and Westin resorts available it was worth the extra fee. We all loved the space and privacy of this beautiful Hawaiian home!!

There are myriad pluses to this home. The layout (all the bedrooms are separate and private); the pool, yard, and view are all superb and private with gorgeous ocean views. The kitchen is probably the best-equipped kitchen I've ever had in a vacation home. It was fun to try an induction stove! The beds were comfy and well-appointed. My only criticism is that the home seems somewhat dated--but that's a comment on aesthetics because it is in good shape and was super clean, we had a fabulous time, were comfortable, and had everything we needed.

Amazing house in a spectacular location. This house is beautiful and well stocked with everything you need for enjoying a Hawaiian vacation. The outside hallways to the separate bedrooms is a really cool feature. We loved having our own rooms and bathrooms for each guest with high quality sheets and towels. Having the Mauna Kea resort so close for golf and beach is an added benefit. We explored the island quite a bit during the day from this location and we looked forward to coming back to it every day. Would highly recommend this home. The owners take good care and the on-site property managers are terrific, too. They went out if their way to make sure we had everything we needed. We hope to come back again.
