We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kat and Derry's villa at Waikoloa Colony Villas. The villa was exactly what we were expecting from the description. The villa was bright, clean, and had everything we needed for our stay and more. There are 2 pools and a hot tub, which we took advantage of every evening. We enjoyed sitting on the patio in the morning, beautiful view, watching the sun come up having a cup of coffee. The location is excellent, lot's of fun places to check out nearby, and a good starting place for exploring the island. Best fish taco's were at Umekes Fish Market in Kona and a great lunch at Hawaiian Style Cafe in Hilo. Kat and Derry were quick to respond to our questions. Would definintly stay there again when we return to Hawaii. Very deserving of a 5 star rating.

Great location, property is as described if not better. This condo had everything we needed including all the beach accessories, plenty of towels, sewing kits, you name it! Kat is ver responsive and helpful. I would stay here again.

Wonderfully located with incredible attention to detail, this property was not just spotless and well equipped, but the hosts are available and responsive to any request, providing tourist guidance and a well organized Island binder to ensure you are aware of all the amenities in the area and beyond.
The golfing was spectacular... the pools wonderful and the unit itself always a treat to return to.

Our family had such a great stay in the unit. Hosts were very easy to communicate with and were great hosts. Their unit provided a great place to relax and unwind after spending the day exploring the Big Island. We greatly appreciated the use of beach gear and a cooler when we went out and spent time at the beach. Unit was exactly as described and as shown in the photos. We can’t thank our hosts enough!

We found the condo to be a comfortable home base for our exploration of the Big Island. It provided a great amount of space to spread out and a nice bed to rest after a long day spent in the sun. We appreciated the ample amount of bath towels and beach supplies. We didn’t know what to expect with The Waikoloa resort area since we had never visited before. In general, it is showing it’s age, but it is beautiful nonetheless. I would say the same for the complex the condo is in. This condo is not exactly as fresh and new as I typically prefer, but we liked it for what I mentioned above and for the price in comparison to others in the area. It’s a good value.

This is a beautifully, well maintained rental. Everything in the listing is what is in the home, to make your stay easy and comfortable. Communication and instructions from Kat and Derry were timely and thorough.
We took advantage of the discounted golf rates, the BBQ grills, the snorkel gear, beach chairs, the washer/dryer and the garage which is standard size, so if your car rental is oversized it will be a tight squeeze.
The pride of ownership shows in all the little details throughout the home. Including a well equipped kitchen, and bathrooms with plenty of towels and linens.
Waikoloa Village has so much to offer. This area of the island is amazing. We highly recommend this property.

We had planned this trip a long time ago . Due to a surgery we postponed for a time.
But we returned to the Big Island . This is our second stay in Kona and Waikoloa area . We enjoyed the island and beautiful beaches .
The Hale Pele home was terrific. It had everything one would need for a vacation . Kat and Derry has the best communication on the home, as well as adventures in the area. It is close to all beaches and nearby restaurants .

Kat & Derry's property is lovely. We enjoyed every minute of our stay there. The kitchen was more than well-stocked with appliances and utensils. The washer and dryer were very handy to have. It was easy to settle in and get comfortable. The overall Waikoloa Beach Resort area is very nice. We especially liked our meals at the Lava Lava Beach Club and found the Queens Market very convenient for quick, simple meals.

This was a great villa to rent 2 bedroom with lots of space. This was a great deal we had and would definitely stay here again. I love the house so much and the complimentary of the resort: pool, golf discount, etc. The host was responsive, friendly, and helpful.

This is a beautiful and well-maintained rental. Everything was as shown and described in the listing, and it had everything we needed. The location is quiet and convenient to restaurants, shopping, and beautiful beaches. I really appreciate that the owners have provided everything you need for a nice day at the beach - chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, and snorkeling equipment. They were also very responsive and reached out during our stay to make sure everything was OK. We’d stay here again.

We come to Waikoloa Beach Resort every year and usually stay in the same condo. This year, our regular place was booked but I’m glad it was because it brought me to this gorgeous home. This home has all the amenities you need to make your stay easy and comfortable. The washer and dryer is a must because I like to pack light not to mention having to wash swim suits and beach towels frequently. The attached garage is nice because you have easy access to all the beach gear. I liked how this home gave my teen the space he needed while we enjoyed the master bedroom upstairs. The view is breathtaking and inviting. It was the perfect spot for some stretching after my morning runs or to get in some yoga. Kat and Derry’s binder of information is very helpful. We’ know they area well but it was still helpful to go through and see what their recommendations were.
I can’t say enough about this place! Mahalo nui loa for sharing your home.

The property was perfect for our family vacation. Everything at the townhouse was well thought out to make you feel at home right away. This included labels on the light switches to know which turned on what light and a welcome binder telling you all about the property and the best restaurants to eat at. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked for our cooking needs - having staples like salt & pepper provided was so great and much appreciated. The kids loved the pool at the property and the beach. Would recommend this rental to anyone and everyone.

This home is located on a golf course just off Wailea Beach road, close to the amenities of nearby hotels and shopping centers. The townhome itself is well equipped, very clean, modern and in a quiet location. Would definitely rent again.

The unit was exactly as depicted, well appointed and spotless! We had breakfast every morning on the lanai - the kitchen was well stocked and the grills are super close to the unit. The grounds are immaculate and close to shops and the beach. We took advantage of the golf discount and all of the beach equipment - was a perfect place to stay for families, plus is was quiet! We had a very enjoyable 11 night stay. We’ve stayed in the Waikoloa Beach area several times in the past. This rates near the top. Kat and Derry have covered all the bases in terms of amenities, beach toys, household supplies, etc. The location was quiet and just a short walk short walk to the pools, spa and bbq. We took advantage of the discounted golf rates and enjoyed the restaurant at the golf course. Check in and out was a snap. We would definitely recommend this property and hope to stay here again sometime.

We had a wonderful time staying here! With holiday travel it was challenging to find place to eat out so we were lucky to have a kitchen fully stocked with everything needed to cook from home. The room set up was perfect for my family with teens ... two bathrooms and a bedroom on each floor. The garage was had a large variety of beach gear. We had a great time. Would stay here again.

Stay here with my friends for 4 days, Love the place and very clean. Close to everything shop, beach and marketplace. Our host kat is very help and accommodating and very detailed organizer. She provided with some map, places to see , etc.
I would defiantly recommend this place and will stay here again.
Ohh they also let us use some beach stuff like chairs, towels, umbrella all provided for free.

We were lucky to stay here for our Hawaii vacation. We originally booked our trip for March 2020 and had to postpone until it was safer because of Covid. It was a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. We enjoyed the pools and beaches close by. The air conditioning was wonderful to come back to. The kitchen was equipped with everything you could need- including a popcorn popper and pineapple slicer.

The property was as advertised. Very clean and kept up nicely. The kitchen was well equipped with appliances, dinner ware, glasses, etc. The 2 pools were really nice for relaxing and the complex was well kept up. We were here also for golfing and you could not beat the price that Kat and Derry get for you at the onsite golf course. The owners were easy to talk to and you could contact them with any questions you had. My family gave this stay a four star rating out of 4 stars.

We came here to celebrate a wedding and had an amazing time. This property has it all. It was clean, quiet and had everything we needed. Loved the views of the golf course! We enjoyed a picnic by the pool. We had no problems running to the stores which were a couple of minutes away and the condo had every thing we needed and more. The Boogie boards, towels, beach chairs and cooler came in handy. Check in was easy. Can’t wait to come back again. Mahalo!

Hale Pele was the perfect choice for our vacation. The owners went to great lengths to make sure that the house was comfortable and had everything we needed. The house is located in a beautiful part of Waikoloa, near the beach, near shopping and all kinds of entertainment. The area is very quiet and peaceful but yet you didn't have to go far to find all kinds of entertainment. Thank you to Kat and Derry for opening your house to us! We could not have asked for anything more! You truly helped make our vacation a very memorable one. We will not look any further for a place to stay than Hale Pele on our next trip to Hawaii!

We were completely satisfied with this condo, and really felt it lived up to all the reviews we had read that caused us to rent it in the first place. We are a family of 4 with 2 children and the set up was perfect for us in terms of the bedrooms, kitchen and living space. We rented it knowing that we were not on the beach but knew from past trips that didn't matter. It was just a short ride (or walk if it hadn't been hot), and we ended up touring around the Island and going to beaches all over the place in any event. The amenities of this overall development are the best in the overall area, and we loved the pools and golf close to this unit. We got the best tips from the owners about shopping at Costco etc. and used them all. We enjoyed cooking in the great kitchen and enjoyed local restaurants as well. The unit is in perfect condition, great beds and nicely decorated.

Wonderfully equipped property. We have been to the island of Hawaii a number of times and stayed in various properties. This property was by far the best. The property owners a were great and attentive. The listing description was accurate including the photos. We will go back as well recommend this property to friends and relatives.

Awesome stay at Hale Pele. Waikoloa is a great area to establish as your Big Island vacation HQ.
The house is perfect for two couples. The kitchen has everything you will need to prepare your own meals. The Costco in Kona is awesome for stocking up on groceries. The garage is stocked with stuff for the beach and road trips too -- 3 coolers, 4 beach chairs and umbrellas, al sizes of snorkel gear, 4 or 5 boogie boards, etc. I guarantee you will not find this at most other vacation home rentals.
If you are a golfer, the rates you get at the 2 Waikoloa courses ($50 and $75) cannot be beat.
Best part though of renting from here is the owner. So easy to work with and very responsive. Next time I go to the Big Island I'm staying here...that's the bottom line.

We just returned from a 2 week stay at Hale Pele, and it was wonderful. The condo was well stocked with everything we could possibly need. Kat was fantastic to deal with and always quickly answered any questions I might have. The condo was well situated, a nice little jaunt to the pool, and a great walk to the Hilton or the shops was a great way to start the day. My husband got in lots of golf so the deals were a great help there! I enjoyed catching up on my R&R at the pool which was very quiet and enjoyable. Everything was clean and just as shown in the photos,,It was a great pleasure to stay there

We were very pleased with the condo, its location, furnishings and comfort. The layout for our 2 couples was very good, the 2 bedrooms/bathrooms being on different floors. Kitchen appliances for all normal uses were modern, and worked well. Parking was close by, and there was a view of the golf course which ran beside the unit. A big plus was the discounted golf green fees.

We had the pleasure of staying at Hale Pele at Waikoloa Beach Resort. Everything was just great – the villa was very comfortable, tastefully decorated, well-equipped and a great location! We checked out several beaches in the area (Mauna Kea a favorite), and sunsets on the A Bay beach and at Lava Lava Beach Club at A Bay were special, too. A big thank you to Kat and Derry, owners, for all the special touches - our stay was memorable and we enjoyed all that Waikoloa Beach Resort and Hale Pele had to offer – wonderful place!

Everyone likes a little slice of paradise, whether it's miles of desolate white - sand beaches or acres of rolling, untouched countryside. My idea of Paradise is HAWAII! My family and I were blessed and lucky to find a hidden gem on the big island - The Waikoloa Colony Villas on the sunny Kohala Coast. Our villa was everything we expected and hoped for!! Our hosts Kat and Derry Ryan were amazing! Kat was extremely helpful with directions from the airport to the villa, ideas on where to dine and play and suggestions on how to spend an unforgettable week on the big island. The villa was clean and VERY quiet! I'll never forget the feeling of waking up in this condo. The silence, the sunrise, the beautiful view of the golf course and the taste of fresh, ripe Hawaiian papaya. The price is reasonable and the place is worth every single penny. The villa is located 15 min. away from our favorite place on earth- The Mauna Kea Beach and Hotel. The beach here is magnificent. We had a chance to swim with sea turtles and hundreds of beautiful fish. Thanks Kat and Derry!! We would never stay anywhere else on the Big Island. Not because there are no other options :) But because your villa is simply THE BEST!!

We have stayed in many condos in the Waikoloa area over the past several years and this spot is at the very top of the 2 bedroom units. We were here for several weeks and found it perfect for our needs. Very well equipped with both kitchen supplies and sports gear, it allowed us to house a couple of guests and entertain even more. Very clean and well-maintained, it looks even better than the photos. The setting is quiet and relaxing, with a lovely view of the golf course. The golf discount was well-used and appreciated. The unit is about equidistant to the two pools, making it convenient for visiting children with varying water needs. The Colony Villas complex is undoubtedly our favorite in the resort area and this condo is nestled in perfectly. You cannot go wrong here.
