Maui never disappoints and our stay at Honua Kai was delightful. From whale watching, morning walks, evening sunsets, snorkeling, pool time, Lahaina shopping, local restaurants, photo inspiring landscapes, this place has it all. The concierge helped us schedule a family friendly zip line adventure that we all enjoyed, from 76 year olds, to 40 year olds, to 7 year olds! She also directed us to turtle beaches and kid friendly swimming spots. We couldn’t be more pleased.

Condo is beautiful, spacious and welcoming, with everything you need to enjoy a wonderful stay at the beach. The development has great pools, restaurants and amenities and a long boardwalk for beach walks. Host made check in easy and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend.

We loved our stay at this unit. Communication prior to arrival and check in was very easy. Unit was exactly as described and well-stocked. We especially enjoyed the 4 beach chairs, beach umbrella and boogie boards. Parking was below the building with very easy access to elevator and the unit. Would recommend!

Great location to cover this side of Maui and lots to do on-site and close by. We really enjoyed our stay here. Family of 5 kids ranging from 8-12. Loved the Lani and open air feel in am and pm.

This property was just as described. It was clean, well stocked, and the beds were comfortable. They also provided all the necessary beach amenities. The close beach access and boardwalk were perfect. You can easily drive to restaurants and shops close by. We also arranged a hike to the rain forest water falls and zip lining above Lahaina. The kids loved it and wanted to stay longer. We will definitely return. Note that this area of Maui is very windy.

This was our second visit to this property in this listing and I can’t imagine staying anywhere else. The property is great. The location is perfect - right on the beach but NOT one of the crazy-crowded beaches, and the on site amenities are ideal for a young family. The property manager was great at communicating and quick to resolve issues (which were very infrequent). The room is stocked with stuff and things that the hotel rooms do not provide, like boogie boards and other beach essentials. Honestly, we VRBO a lot and this our favorite. Twelve thumbs up!

We absolutely loved this property and unit. Everything from check in to check out went smoothly! The many personal touches in the unit made our family feel welcomed and made our stay that much nicer! The view from the balcony belongs on a postcard. We enjoyed our morning coffee out there each day. Our family loved the pools and close proximity to the beach. This place has it ALL! Luxury resort close to a lot of activities. The beach is great for playing in the sand, snorkeling, and castles but sometimes the reef is too shallow for boogie boarding. We took a sailboat to Honolua Bay for excellent snorkeling. We also walked the short trails at Honolua Bay a different day to experience the dense canopy and huge trees. Duke's restaurant is very popular so we did take out a couple of night and watched the sunset from the lanai.
I was impressed that the resort store had a lot of staples, drinks, and coffee at reasonable prices. There were also boogie boards and other beach gear available to use in the unit. The resort has towel vending machines, that you check out with your room key wristband. Our family of four was extremely happy with the spacious accommodations.

The condo was super clean. We didn’t have to much to do when we left. Only thing is the restaurant on the property “Dukes” is busy all the time and I would recommend making resv when you first arrive for days in advance.

Close to the secondary elevator, which makes you closer to the pools! Perfect size for the six of us. Well equipped kitchen and comfy seating. The lanai is huge and that’s where we ate most of the time. The view is beautiful. Couldn’t ask for much more, sun, pool, beach, warm winds and a comfy bed to fall into after a full day doing anything and everything. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us.

Our family of 5 (kids 14, 12, 7) stayed for a week and it was simply amazing. The unit was clean and everything worked. Kids had their own room. Kitchen, living room, and balcony were spacious, open, and we could have a meal while looking at the ocean. Rick and Monty reached out before the trip and helps us coordinate everything. It was very smooth and made the stress of the trip go away.
Location was awesome. Beach was a 2 min walk. Pool was a 1 min walk. Supermarket was 3-5 min drive (and you could also walk to it). Resort was well kept and the pools were awesome. We couldn’t have had more fun. Perfect vacation spot for a family.

This property is beautiful and close to everything! The condo is conveniently located by the elevator, but not at all noisy. The kitchen is well stocked. The view is awesome (we saw whales from our balcony almost every day). The beach is a 2 minute walk, sunsets were gorgeous! There were a nice array of beach supplies. My kids loved the boogie boards and volleyball. I liked that the balcony doors open completely to extend the living space. Check out the Food Trucks across from Times Supermarket, lots of choices for the family. It was a perfect, relaxing vacation. We will come again!

I rented this beautiful condo for my daughter and her family of 4 (children 4 and 6), and they loved it. Beautiful views of the grounds and the ocean. The owners were very easy to communicate with while arranging rental details, and after that the property manager was easily accessible for anything that might come up. Overall they were very delighted with the place, and only had one minor complaint: because the boys are of an age where it's more trouble than it's worth to take them to restaurants, the family prepared most of their meals at the condo. They bought a week's worth of groceries, but there is very little space anywhere except the counters to store food. Everyone had a fabulous time!

What’s the Hawaiian word for “perfection?” This place is great! It’s a great property with great people, pools, ocean access. As for Rick and Kim’s place, WOW! It has all the amenities: boogie boards, toys, beach chairs, baby stuff (we don’t have babies anymore but can appreciate it from when we did), And easily the most impressive stemware collection of any VRBO we’ve ever rented. Room 245 is a great location within the property, tucked in the corner near the elevator making unloading groceries a breeze and getting to and from the main level simple when there’s an elevator log jam.
Also, tip of the cap to Monty, the property manager, who was quick to communicate and eager to make sure we were all set for our vacation.
I’ve never rented a home or condo before and thought, ‘next time I want to come back here I’m going to seek out THAT specific listing again,’ but I will be doing so in this case!

The condo was beautiful inside and well cared for. The view from the lanai was spectacular and we enjoyed drinking our coffee there in the morning and drinks at night. The beach in front of the condo was great for swimming and snorkeling. The only down side was the limited number of chairs at the pool but I imagine that is due to Covid capacity guidelines. We are sad to leave this paradise!

This property is everything it says it is. From start to finish, this was a fantastic and relaxing vacation. The place is perfect on all fronts. First was the convenience. Right on the inside of the building, facing the courtyard, pool and ocean. Was so easy to get to as it's right off the elevator (although not directly beside the elevator). That was also super nice because you could essentially park really close and grab the elevator to the unit. The kitchen was very useful although it's always hard to know just how much food to buy. By the way, food at Safeway is expensive. It's the island life but there really is no way to prepare for the sticker shock. Just is what it is. Just know going in that groceries are between 3x and 4x what they are on the mainland. Still, having the kitchen saved a lot of time and money as its just nice to come back up from the pool/beach and grab lunch. Also made having breakfast in very accommodating. The beds were extremely comfortable. So much so that we'll likely be going to find a similar bed for home. Just super comfortable. The lanai was so awesome. It was in the shade, at least for us, 100% of the time. It was amazing to just sit and drink coffee, read or just relax. We really loved sitting on it in the evenings when things cooled off. The lanai doors/windows were also awesome as they appeared to be soundproof. Seems like nothing to care about, until 8 or 9 pm when a game of kickball starts up in the courtyard. It wasn't distracting in the least and when we were done watching, we were able to go in, close the doors/windows and it was peaceful and relaxing. The distance to Lahaina was also great. The proximity to everything was super easy, the parking pass made all the difference in your ability to come and go freely. We didn't make it to Duke's although lunch and takeout would have been super easy since it's on property. The pools were awesome, the ocean was fantastic and sunsets were simply gorgeous. The beach access and boardwalk walks were really awesome too. We couldn't find anything to complain about. Rick and Kim were most gracious in their communications and this was truly a magical first time to Maui for our family. Loved Monty too as he was very communicative and very helpful. Thank you to the owners for sharing their piece of paradise with us. If/when we return to the island, we will most definitely look to stay here again. Mahalo!

This was a 3rd year coming to Maui. This condo was by far our favorite. It had everything we needed and fit our family of 4 perfectly. We sat in the Hot Tub every morning and every night and enjoyed the beach and the whales daily! Before we arrived at this condo we were suppose to stay 3 nights in Ma'alaea! After the first night we had to change condos due to a bug problem. The only had a condo for 1 night for us and we had no where to stay for one night before arriving at Rick and Kim's. I messaged Kim and asked if there was any chance to come a day early if anyone was checking out. She called me instantly and had the room and everything ready for us that same day! She was an absolutely life saver and made our trip less stressful than the first few days. We appreciate their kindness and sharing their beautiful condo with us. We give this place 5 Stars and will be back for sure!

Great 2 bedroom suite, comfortable bedding and nicely decorated. Patio furniture a bit crowded, but kitchen was well appointed and Monty (unit manager) was very responsive. Had issue with WiFi and he was helpful and quick to respond. Bell and Valet were very service oriented.Good location on the Island, had several meals and drinks at Duke's, which was fabulous. Always crowded, so need reservation. Rick and Kim (owners) were responsive to all our pre-arrival questions with great suggestions on dining and activities!

We stayed on the south side of Maui for the first part of our trip. Since we enjoy Maui so much we decided to extend our trip but we had to find another place available. We were so lucky to find this place. I spoke to the owner. She responded quickly and was very friendly. This unit was up to date, clean, beautiful, had all the amenities we needed and of course the view from the large lanai was amazing. We were able to watch gorgeous sunsets from the balcony. Usually I don’t use AC but during that week it was more humid than usual. It was so nice to come back to a unit that was cool. This place is family friend. We used both pack and plays that the unit provided for our daughter. We tried to use the infant booster seat but I think it was missing a strap. Luckily, we brought our own. Not a big deal. It also had a closet full of beach supplies which was helpful. Extending our vacation and staying here was the best part of our trip. We were so comfortable here and felt at home. Thank you!

The condo is as described. It truly has everything you need to have a great family vacation. We had one minor maintenance item and it was resolved within an hour. Very impressive service! Loved the lanai and had some wonderful times sitting out there with the family.
