This was our second time staying in this unit and it did not disappoint! The unit was as we remembered it, if not better. The unit has everything that you would need and is centrally located within the property. This time we brought our toddler and the unit accommodate us well. Our host, Bill, is fantastic and such a thoughtful owner. We would certainly stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at Sugar Beach Resort. Condo was well supplied with amenities. The king size bed was sooo comfortable, just like home! Watched and waited a few days for the pool to be cleaned. They were very meticulous with the cleaning.

The apartment is renovated and clean, the ocean view from lanai is wonderful. The complex has pool and hot tub. The beach is very nice for walking and watching sunset, but I would suggest swimming in other beaches on Maui that are more interesting and have nicer waters. There is a very nice bakery and farm market just 10 min walk from the complex on the beach. definitely try the spicy musubi :-) Bill is really excellent at responding and has been very nice to communicate with. Thank you for this wonderful time in Maui!

The property was perfect for what we wanted for our 30th anniversary trip & first trip to Hawaii! Everyone was so friendly & helpful. The owners sent us a welcome packet that had very useful information on things to do as well as some things to avoid. We loved every second of our stay. The condo was quite comfortable & had everything we needed! Many thanks to the owners & Marco who made sure everything was clean, in working order, & ready for us. My only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer. One week was not quite enough!

The listing was 100% accurate. If I return to Maui, this is where I'll stay again. Bill and Cathy emailed an amazing welcome packet with all the information you need from the property to suggestions/tips of things to do. The location is wonderful because it keeps you out of the more touristy Kihei. There was a minor issue with the shower drain (probably just sand build up over time) at the beginning of my stay. A quick text to Bill and the property manager, Marco, got the ball rolling, and it was fixed while I was out sightseeing!

This is the second time we stayed at this condo, and the experience was fabulous as the owner did some recent renovations, which made our 3 week stay a very pleasant experience. The condo is very well maintained and stocked with kitchen supplies as well as recreational items. Plus the "onsite manager/contact" was great by providing immediate service to one or two minor items we had. Plus, the two different views from this end unit condo, really added to our stay and were of a great value.
Would highly recommend staying in this Unit , as the owners were great to deal with.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The unit was larger than average, contained many condiments that were leftover from previous guests so check the unit first before shopping. It is perfectly situated, especially having the extra window. The unit is well equipped with cutlery, dishes and cookware. The furniture and bed were comfortable. The bedroom seems larger than other Sugar Beach units we have stayed in. Nice feature is the underground parking. We will be back. Owners were quick to respond to any inquiries we had prior to our stay. Thank you Cathy and Bill.

I have SO many good things to say about this property and host, it will be hard to summarize!
This is our 5th trip to Maui and our 4th trip to SBR. We tried one new place in south Kihei once, and it just wasn’t the same.
Although staying at SBR does require you to drive to most places with the exception of the nearby farm stand, abc store, and shaved ice, the 3 miles of uninterrupted beach front is well with it.
And seriously the abc store has everything. You can walk down the road or the beach to those locations.
We stayed for 11 nights with our two kids (21 & 13). First night they had the sleeper sofa. The king size bed was way too soft for us so we switched with the kids the rest of the time and it was perfect!! The sleeper is much more firm and to our liking, we also love getting up early and enjoying our beach walk and coffee without waking the kids.
The room is nicely decorated, had tons of kitchen necessities and a huge supply of Tupperware! Boogie boards, beach towels, and a small cooler were a plus too. You can’t beat the local tour and sight seeing office onsite either! You can expect wind daily, like this owner states but we are used to that while visiting and most days it keeps you feeling cool. Pool and grounds are always immaculate. There is a local canoe team 2 minutes down the beach that you can pay to join them. We did for the first time and it was spectacular.
Recommend Kimo’s in Lahaina for food, Coconuts in Kihei for fish tacos and For and Salad for delicious lunches and Wow for Acai bowls, also in Kihei.
My only suggestion would be to add a towel and swimsuit drying rack on the lanai. It just didn’t seem like there was enough room to dry stuff for four people. Even a coat rack stand some there would be nice.

We were here for my daughter’s wedding. It was great to be so close to other friends and family who stayed in the same building. It is so bright and cheerful here. We had a beautiful view of the ocean. It was very peaceful! And I loved the hot tub!! The owners are lovely!

Nice condo unit that was fairly up to date. Kitchen was fully equipped and in good condition, including supplies left by previous occupants (which some might have an issue with) but having spices and other cooking amenities was a plus. The view from the third floor was awesome overlooking the bay. Furniture was in decent condition, I’d say about halfway through its useful life. The large king bed was a bit soft for my comfort and might be more than halfway through its life. Shower made the most use of the space available and was roomy, except did leave the toilet area a bit cramped. The owners supplied beach chairs, boards and a cooler along with other items. Others also left suntan lotion which was also a plus. The resort itself (at least the pool area and grills) are well maintained and clean. The exterior hallways vary and can look a bit worn and dirty at times. The beach area is not nice but I wouldn’t call it expansive. Then again you are in Maui, hopefully you are planning to visit other beaches. Would I return, I might - the location is fairly central to most of Maui and the rental rate was more than reasonable in comparison to other accommodations.

This is a wonderful place. Very clean and well equipped. Beautiful view from Lanai facing the ocean and the swimming pool. You cannot beat the feeling of Waking up with sounds of ocean wave. Whether you enjoy a relaxing walk along the coast in morning, playing in water, building a sand castle with family, or a chill out relaxing time on the beach chairs in the lawn under the stars, you got it all. The sofa bed is quite comfortable. Few walking steps to Beach for kids to play all day. Swimming pool and hot tubs are both great as well. Convenient place to drive around West Maui. I love and enjoyed the stay.

The property is great. There is a lot to do near by. We've been snorkeling, parasailing, whale watching and the like. My only complaint is this condo owner added a tax after I already had a receipt stating I had paid in full. I tried to find another place to stay but couldn't because they waited to notify us until we were so close to our arrival date. It's a shame really.

This 3rd floor, garden unit offers everything you could want! It's location on the corner of the building provides a side window with an ocean front view and plenty of light. The decor is modern, comfortable with all the amenities that one can wish for with a well utensil/appliance-stocked kitchen. Everything was spotless, huge king bed wonderful and lovely bath products provided as well. This is a perfect S.B. unit; one I would highly recommend. Oh, and can't forget lovely hosts, Cathy and Bill who responded immediately to any questions and sent detailed information about "everything Maui" with condo instructions. I had a fabulous, memorable stay.

Excellent and easy check in/check out process. The apartment itself is pristine. It has all kinds of useable trinkets for the beach (chairs, body boards, cooler, etc). It is located within 10 minutes of Kihei which is a really fun area and it is right on the beach. We had a great time in the ocean, pool and jacuzzi. Great stay and Bill/Cathy were great too! We rented a movie on his cable service and texted Bill and he said no problem/relayed the payment through venmo and it was easy.

This was a great place. Will stay here on next visit. Owner was almost immediate to my few questions that I had just before check-in, and during the stay. Loved the in room laundry machine. Place was located perfectly for our stay. The beach is literally 100 steps from the elevator to the sand.

This condo was fantastic! It had all the amenities we needed, and the location was perfect. Sugar Beach is beautiful and was never crowded. This condo is literally just a few steps from the water, we never even needed to put on shoes to get to the beach. Being an end unit, it has a beach view from the lanai and the dining room. Sunsets here cannot be beat! We will definitely be back to Sugar Beach.
