We had an excellent stay in Kuleana 605. The check-in instructions were very thorough. The condo was very clean with nice appliances and a modern yet beachy vibe. The grounds were kept very clean and manicured. The folks working at this location were friendly and helpful and it felt very secure. The ocean decided to remove quite a bit of the sand in the northern beach area but the snorkeling was still great and lots of surfing going on just south of the property. It was surprisingly warm for December and were thankful of the AC at bedtime. We had a wonderful stay! A huge Mahalo to the wonderful people of Maui and their huge hearts!

This was our 2nd time at this particular property. We can’t say enough good things about it and Reeney, the owner. Kuleana is an incredible place to stay. If you get there and the beach happens to be washed out, it is still accessible and so much fun! We put our lawn chairs on the lawn and played in the water, snorkeled, and watched the sea turtles swim by. No matter the conditions. It is a great place to stay. The tiki torches at night is an especially nice touch. The unit is clean, comfortable and has everything that you will need, right down to the Tommy Bahama beach chairs! Mahalo

VRBO pictures sometimes look a lot better online than in life. I can say with certainty the picture from the lanai to the water is completely accurate. The beaches are not huge, but they are very secluded and have plenty of space to spread out. It is also perfectly safe to swim/snorkel from. Each morning at high tide we watch 5-7 turtles come in to eat right in front of us! Amazing!

The resort may not be the newest and largest, but you can tell it‘s maintained with love — and that‘s what really matters. The garden is lush and gorgeous, the pool area clean and spacious, there‘s plenty BBQ grills and a laundry room. Having a huge and well-priced grocery store nearby, just like a fish market and a food truck park, was convenient.
Apartment 605 seems to have been newly renovated. It was nicely decorated and clean, it came with all amenities one could ask for, and the towels and bedsheets were amazingly soft. The apartment was a bit on the smaller side, but for two people the size was just right.
What really made the apartment feel so luxurious was the fact that it was located on the ground floor right at the ocean-front, allowing us to have dinner facing the breathtaking sunsets over the ocean. Believe me, this view is priceless and we have never had anything like this before!!!
The apartment even came with beach chairs, that we gladly used at the small private beach. Not only was this beach super convenient, clean and quiet (during low tide, that is), but it was a perfect spot of snorkeling and turtle watching. Seeing turtles was not a matter of chance — since it‘s a turtle sanctuary, we saw like a dozen every day!!
The Kuleana Resort and apartment 605 truly are a hidden gem — cozy and gorgeous. We immediately felt like home and it was hard to say goodbye at the end of our vacation.

We loved the ground floor to be able and walk out to the ocean. We saw many turtles and spouting whales. The staff was very friendly and we had very considerate neighbors! I have no complaints but plenty of wonderful memories!

Stayed here before and consider this one of the best and affordable resorts in west Maui.
Love watching the whales from the lanai while eating meals grilled on the bank of drills available. Owner is great to work with and her condos are clean, well equipped and recently updated.

We liked the condo and it’s location. It was lovely being on the water. Cooking was a bit of a challenge with the small amount of counter space. But that’s obvious from the photos in the listing.
I had expected I could snorkel and swim there. But the rocky shore prevented that directly in front of the complex. And it wasn’t possible to walk along the shoreline to the little sandy beach to the left. Property line fences prevent that.
When we walked over from the road, the official path to the little beach was gated and impassable. We were told it had been deemed unsafe and “they” are trying to figure out how to fix it.

My wife and I got away from the kids to celebrate our anniversary and this was perfect. Beautiful location outside town and big resorts, but close and easy drive to whatever you wanted. Quiet, gorgeous views every morning and evening right outside the window to the ocean- whales and turtles right there! Inside the unit everything was not amazing, but above average and totally worth it for the location!

We were happy to return to the Kuleana Resort this year, and this time we had this ground floor condo. It’s nice to be able to walk out the sliding door directly onto the lawn to see the turtles in the water directly below. We’re planning to return again! Thanks!

We were in Maui for a wedding on site, we had 4 units and all were very nice. We were able to have the wedding right outside the condo Lanai with the most beautiful view. Condo is close to shopping and excursions. We had a great stay and the condo was perfect, would stay there again. Our host was very helpful every step of the way.

Prompt response back from property manager, helped fix date when accidently booked for wrong date. Place was very clean! Ocean view amazing! Watched turtles swim most of the morning! Bed was very comfortable! Wish we would have booked our whole stay here. Next time will be staying longer for sure!

We loved our stay here! The lanai is unbeatable, just steps away from the ocean. The property was tidy and very easy to access! Would definitely recommend!
We snorkeled right outside the property and saw 15+ turtles in just 20 minutes! Late afternoon seemed to be magic hour 😊
Walkable to a few casual restaurants, food trucks and shops but most of our nicer outings required a car.

It’s beautiful here. We enjoyed snorkeling and swimming on the beach. It was great sitting outside looking at the view of the ocean. The lull of the waves at night helped us sleep.

We absolutely loved staying here. The backyard patio with view was amazing! We would definitely stay here again. Great location as far as driving to different sites, restaurants, stores. Not too remote yet not right in a busy area. A/C worked great and was necessary during out stay. No complaints!

This place ahas beautiful, private views with a little beach extremely close. My husband and I did not rent a car and walked a lot. It was about a half mile to walk to coffee shops and maybe another half mile to get to restaurants inside resorts. We took an Uber down town which was extremely easy if you wanted to go farther out. The condo was perfect for just the two of us.

This was a charming little space that was right on the ocean front! It was perfect, and we loved it. It had beautiful sunsets every night, and it was lovely to drink coffee in the morning right outside our door. We also enjoyed grilling next to the neighbors and other VRBO guests. This condo is near shopping and restaurants and was just lovely. For us, a private condo was the way to go versus staying at a crowded hotel, and we would recommend this cozy beautiful spot to anyone!

Nice location, but no beach access. The snorkel area is a little rough and not user friendly, but it's pretty. The actual condo is very small and not sure you could fit four people with luggage. There were just two of us so it was fine. Bedroom is in the back with no view. Tiny patio with little table and no lounge chairs. Pool in the middle with no beach view. There are a few places that are walkable, but we are active and still chose to drive most places. We still had a nice time and the place was fine.

Everything is exactly as described…however the view is the best we have experienced in all our travels to Maui. Condo clean and very well appointed. Communications with owner very easy and timely. If you are looking for a true Hawaiian getaway, this is the place!

This is a very comfortable condo in a great location. I could go for days without putting shoes or socks on as I walked out onto the well cared-for lawn overlooking the ocean, and down to the grills with my meat to cook. Over our four days here I saw the attention given to quality maintenance of facilities, from trimming shrubs and scrubbing grills, to lighting gas torches on the water-front each evening. This is a terrific place to stay for a relaxing few days.

This place is great. In the middle of kaanapali and kapalua, it’s right where you want to be. Close to the grocery store and ocean front room. Our host Reeny is on top of things. You will never be disappointed staying here. This stay was for our honeymoon and let’s say my wife left really happy.

All I have to say is WOW. Can I move into this place? My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here. The location is very good, access to the room was easy and the view... so nice. The rooms were plenty large for the two of us and did I mention the view!! We would definitely stay here again.
The nicest surprise is you are really only 40 feet from the edge looking right down on the water with a straight walk out from your lanai that has very comfortable chairs and multiple table choices. There is a little path to a landing and ladder to the water that allows easy access to some great and simple snorkeling. Turtles were swimming around on both days.

We enjoyed staying here! Location was convenient to all the attractions. The condo was comfortable and well stocked with essentials plus a few extras such as beach towels and chairs! Saw lots of turtles right in front of our unit around the rocky shore. Spotted one whale in a peek a boo view of the ocean when hopping out of the pool!

Refreshingly different experience than the big resort scene. Location was perfect with wonderful views right outside on the unit's patio. Quiet and peaceful and a great jumping-off point for excursions to Lahaina, Kapalua, and the South. Would definitely return and highly recommend.
Very clean and well stocked kitchen with an oven, stove, fridge and dishwasher. Being able to cook meals and store/ heat up leftovers was so nice and saved us money.
It also included beach towels and a beach blanket. The little beach right there was also nice and snorkeling was nice right there too.
Overall great value and wonderful getaway spot.

This is a first floor condo with the most AMAZING ocean view. There is a small beach area for ocean access and we saw sea turtles everyday.
The condo was clean, the property is immaculate and it was easy to communicate with the owner.

We have not one complaint. Little private beach, torches outside the condo lit at night. Instantly easy access right from the lobby entrance. Extremely clean and remodeled. Staff were all helpful and kind. Short distance from everything we wanted to do. We mainly wanted to stay local and relax. Steps down to the ocean for snorkeling was a short walk. Nice local kept secret that made that experience memorable for life. We had the best sunset we saw anywhere we traveled to on that side of the island. Perfect location where you see the sunset between two islands. Calm extremely blue waters, as you would hope for. Some beach supplies provided in the condo (I.e. beach chair) boogie board (one was broken though). We had the best time ever and the ease of access made it that more relaxing. If you have a choice, definitely choose the ground floor. Walking out to the beautiful view of the islands and water was cool. I recommend this 110%

We had an amazing time at this property. Reeny was very responsive and made the check in process super easy.
The private beach was unreal and we saw tons of turtles every day. Snorkeling in the shoreline outside the property was beautiful and we saw tons of sea life.
It was nice coming back here in the evening from the busy areas. It’s quite and serene. It is also centrally located to north and south Maui and it was a quick Uber ride away from everything.

Reeny’s unit is quite nice. We stayed in it in July. There were 3 people in our party. My husband and I stayed in the bedroom and an adult child stayed on the couch. The unit was quite small, and is really better suited for 2 adults only. But we made it work. We were on the ground floor which was nice-we could access the beach, the pool and the bbq’s easily. Having coffee on the lanai in the morning was so relaxing! The unit had pretty much everything we needed for our stay.

We loved our experience at the 605 condo! Wonderful views, easy parking, gorgeous mornings out on the lanai, watching turtles feed in the evenings, and stunning sunsets. The unit was stocked with spices, coffee filters, dishwasher packs, a soft-side cooler, some beach chairs and snorkel gear (no flippers). It was fantastic for two people! A couple considerations... The bedroom A/C is quite loud, so if you are a lighter sleeper, you may need earplugs. The unit cools the entire condo, and it was fine for us. Also, use much caution using the ladder down to the turtle cove. It is slippery, and you must have decent upper body strength to pull yourself up onto it after swimming. There are craggy rocks below it, so wear water shoes and be very careful. The beach entrance it probably safer, then you can swim over. Enjoy!
